Thanks guys, Now to attend to other matters on the list Minuit. The temps are cold. I need to grab my dads temp gun and see what is coming out. But I thoroughly enjoyed the cruise home. Someone on here was right about the 2.5L not wanting to go fast now with AC. And that is true. When I met up with pirate I managed to snag a heavy duty cooling fan for the 2.8L. so if temps go up, that fan is going on.

I’ve been running this MoPar number since I’ve been working at the dealer:68304020AA. It’s the H.O. Style plug you have posted. -

Sorry I don't think any of them were wrong. My bad. But that an "M" after 1JT. I'll have Pete move it for me. I have no power to do that. But thanks for saving a truck!

Ok what I should’ve said is cruise control. I haven’t really given up on either lol. I can see the confusion. (Gonna go fix it) It just moved to the back burner for now. With no known good regulator for me to use, It has since become a low priority. Plan is to fix the one that burnt a resistor at some point and see why the heck this other one won’t do a bloody thing.

Well its been a busy day! Met up with pirate and picked the salvage yard. Compressor came in and will install that today. And I have thrown in the towel on cruise control(sorry for the confusion, lol)I don't know why or how this happened but it is beyond me. Damn. Wish AMC was still around.

Renix Cruise Control

I’ll have to get in contact with him. You would think more of that tester would be around as it seems Dana was the leader in cruise control tech back in the day. -

I need to get a vacuum tester and gauge, but as far as I know everything works. I have done light tests and volt tests at all electrical connections to see what does what. -
I've seen enough X-files to know they are hiding something. Should people storm Area 51? Sure why the hell not? Natural selection. Plus we could truly find out if Nellis is really hiding anything or not. I do recall on the long road as you travel through Nevada a random chain link fence closing off access to a canyon. Why that is there? I don't know.

That honestly sounds like an aftermarket kit. I think I'm gonna bet I need a new regulator. -

eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Its an electro-vacuum set up. So far I'm at a loss. The original regulator blew a resistor. The new one just won't do a damn thing. Everything seems to be in working order but I can not tell for certain. It all worked prior to tearing out the dash to install AC. But that is it. I haven't disturbed the set up and all I did was unplug the servo from the vacuum line and unmount it to move it out of the way for the moment. The only thing I found on the dash side was the ground cable that Cruiser recommends to do was torn away from the mounting stud. That has since been repaired. -

eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
(two hours ago)Well damn...I blew something on the regulator. Plugged in the old regulator after doing some adjustments and poof a plume of smoke. Did some tracing on the board to the wiring after I got home and found it is the white wire that leads to the servo. Servo bad? I don't know. All I know is that it has Ohm resistance that is less than infinite according to the FSM. -
Renix Cruise Control
eaglescout526 replied to eaglescout526's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Yup. I keep testing them with the pots in different positions. H.O. Won’t work with Renix sadly. H.O. Computer has cruise built in so it’s plug and play. Renix cruise isn’t a PITA, well installing it is but once it’s in there and some fine adjustments it’s awesome to have. I’ve just never heard or have cruise just lay down and die until now. -

I’ve tested both factory and aftermarket switch. I’m gonna look into my vacuum harness on the engine side tomorrow. I put hell of a battle up today just electrically. Seems like everything functions as it should. Don’t know if the regulators(computers) do. -
I smell an excellent ruse.

Reproduction Comanche Emblems
eaglescout526 replied to carolinajeepman's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
Nice!!! Is there any chance we will see them wrapped in chrome then painted like from the factory? Also glow in the dark is a really neat touch! -
It has almost gotten to the point where you will have to rebuild your old winch or use the brackets and adapt one of the “big three’s” winches to the MJ bracket. I did that.

Has anyone ever had cruise control just stop working? I go to engage it one day as I was driving home and I smelt an electrical burning smell. I have replaced everything(including wiring harness) with a spare set I had. I did get it to engage for maybe a minute with the old regulator but now nothing. I have done the FSM adjustment and it engages for a second and it stops operating. I have vacuum where I need it to be and I am getting vacuum from the cannister. Anyone just run into this and be baffled by why it won't engage? Does anyone have the dealer tool? AM PC-1-R?

Clutch problems
eaglescout526 replied to Wallace Krempa's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If it’s the original master cylinder and if it’s in good shape on the inside you can rebuild it. But the cylinder can’t be pitted or else the rebuild is nulled with the same leak.
