  1. It’s like a stopper. Shaped like an L and it’s there to allow certain length of radios apparently. What’s weird is it looks 3D printed but there’s no way in hell the POs took the dash apart and put that in. I had to ask @89 MJ if there was Eagle specific radios and there isn’t. It’s weird. Otherwise this eagle is mostly unmolested. I plan to do a video and get some pics posted soon since I’ve got a 30 day to get the emissions done and registered.
  2. Have you removed the oil gauge at all?
  3. For me here is another old Jeep. Either my XJ or MJ. I go to the local cruise in on Saturdays to show either or off and I get compliments. But out and about, my only instance from a Jeep owner was a JK owner who knew what my MJ was. Otherwise it’s just a cold shoulder.
  4. Posssssiblyyyy. I’m not exactly sure. I’ll have to do some digging. I don’t recall having many if any of the hooks.
  5. I’ve had that visor for 4 years. I’d be surprised.
  6. Ok, @DrOctogonnopus, your username brings back some memories of a bygone era from youtube.
  7. Are you sure its a sensor? Maybe you got the sender by accident? Edit, I just saw your build thread, that is a sensor. Carry on!
  8. Yup! If its there, I have it unless I embarrass myself and cant find it haha. Ill even make the harness for ya for the mirror visor.
  9. Well this is an interesting discovery. So I am thinking that I don’t have a lot of electrical gremlins like I think but more just stuff failing. Clock doesn’t work, radio works when it wants to like my 141/161 hybrid. However! I took the radio out to replace it and discovered two things. One there’s a stopper that doesn’t allow full size radios in and two that radio might as well be dead since I plugged in my 141/161 hybrid and it came to life. Also didn’t know for a late production 85 for the 86 model year used metri pack connectors for the radio. I thought it would use the pack cons. Oh well. I might trim the stopper as it’s more of a support bracket.
  10. Got some updates! Got a 30 day permit, shouldve gotten that from the getgo but whatever. Thanks AZ. But I got new mirrors, just needed the glass to do some fixes. Got it running and driving just fine. Cleaned the grounds, got some stuff working but it definitely needs help or its connectors cleaned like the radio being intermittent.
  11. i made a thread a few years ago to tackle this very topic. For those of us on the budget end. But I don’t think the paint is no longer within budget these days.
  12. Cold days ahead! Time to spruce up that interior for the shows!
  13. Bump for the cold days ahead.
  14. Agreed! I’m liking this one a little better and mostly because of the fancy automatic eject and actual tuning knob vs the buttons. I think I’ll take a stab at fixing the other one.
  15. Haha! I’ve been able to do that before actually. The 161/141 hybrid behaved weirdly with them but worked. That being said, my wife found a Bluetooth cassette tape so she’s able to play her tunes now.
  16. New radio is in and works fantastic! Might have a bad rear speaker but hey! Its a radio that no longer works when it wants to! (wow, thats bad image quality) Thank you @Eagle_SX4! I also forgot how much fun it is to drive Little Red, shes gonna get me in trouble one day haha.
  17. This just goes beyond thread necromancy.
  18. Huh? 91-01 was MPFI. Little bit tougher to swap in than the TBI. However, yes. 91-01 distributors are different than 86-90.
  19. Once upon a time there was some NOS. I am not sure if there’s still any out there.
  20. Bump. I added that I’m looking for a wiper switch. I’m not in an absolute rush for this one. Trying to diagnose it at the moment.
  21. Glad the first part has been sorted!
  22. I don’t recall much changing when I last had access to the digital catalog but I could very much be wrong. I know an 84-85 block is the same as well. I thought maybe my 84 2.5L had more pep since the TBI swap and had to check the cam. Cam is the same until 90. Actually, thinking about it. Maybe the HO is a little off on timing and perhaps the cam was changed and why it could be getting off on time as the lifter duration and timing could be different there. I wonder what the previous owner really did to that block. But I imagine there would be a lot more issues if this was the case like back firing.
  23. No. Just something like this does take time for one to wrap their head around. It’s odd that an engine swap was done and suddenly timing issues. Makes me wonder if the original owner was sold an engine that wasn’t working right to begin with. Have you tried looking up the casting info on the cam itself?
  24. Supposedly there’s an early 84-85 version that’s a little lighter in color.
  25. Sent ya a PM
