  1. Those are factory side steps. Shame they’re kinda mangled. Wonder if a heat massage would fix it.
  2. Just gotta remove the release handle screws. Once the handle is out of the way the hole is accessible.
  3. Driver side is not. The hole for it is under the ebrake release handle.
  4. All 2.5Ls are like that. Why do a costly block revision when you can put a plate over it. Plus it makes it easier for the early 2.5L guys to swap a newer engine in.
  5. Yeah that’s something that AMC nor Chrysler offered in the MJ days.
  6. Now there is. Lol. So here’s the sink, it’s got one tank that is bigger and another that’s more meant for rinsing. The wife really loves this and I let her pic it out. We can thank my grandmother for giving us some money for improvements. And the wife even picked out one of those cup cleaners and its a really cool piece and I will admit, she won this set up. Hahah. It took quite a while longer to install something so simple. But that’s ok. Ran into a couple issues along the way. Couldn’t get the hot water completely off, got all the hoses on and we couldn’t get any hot water at all lol. So my father and I sat for about 20 min figuring it out and we got water to come out the actual valve but not the hoses. So I told my dad that the grommet in the valve probably disintegrated and is causing no water flow. Luckily I had rebuilt the style I’ve valve that it is before and decided to rebuild it and clean everything at the valve out. Got everything buttoned up and we have hot water. Not sure what the problem still was but hey. Even hooked the cup cleaner to the hot water. Now the under carriage. So this started as a “I’ll just clean underneath here and put everything back” to a “let’s do it right”. So what I did was take a putty knife and scraped all the uneven surfaces from the water damage that had happened from prior leaks and I used the left over paint that came with the house(white in colour) and painted the bottom so it would seal and look nice and not cause any further damage if any other leaks. Then I put down some vinyl floor pieces I had and put those down too to make it look nice. Oh I also forgot that I didn’t post anything about how I painted a section of my fence for a white screen for the projector the wife and I got as a wedding gift. And it didn’t kill off all the white paint. Haha.
  7. Put in a new sink finally. The wife is very happy and it’s much better than the old standard one that wasn’t deep enough.
  8. Ah. Then yeah give the method above a shot. It should in theory work as it supplies the ICM with voltage and light supply the ECU with voltage as it supplied the blower motor and everything else with power.
  9. Actually……I almost wonder if one could get away with starting a Renix Jeep with the hood lamp plug, plugged into the coil and jumping the starter until it fires. That being said you wouldn’t be able to drive it because the ignition cylinder is locked and has the steering wheel locked. You’ll have to pull the wheel off either way and get to the ignition cylinder.
  10. $500 for some lamps that rust out faster than Marchals? Must be some die hard XJW guys really restoring theirs to be correct. Yet I haven’t sold anything in months due to inflation.
  11. Lol nice. I recommend pulling the lower dash to install them so you can see the alignment notches but you can install them without removing the panel too.
  12. They install on the ends of the lower dash panel. You can see the hole for the passenger side but you can’t see the drivers side because it’s hidden under the ebrake handle.
  13. Find ya a set of these brackets:
  14. Idle Speed Actuator. It’s what controls the idle speed. It’s on the front of the throttle body. It is motor driven and is controlled be the ECU. These usually don’t fall out of spec(unless fiddled with)but can succumb to being dirty inside but rare to produce a fault. Usually from what I have had happen to give a high idle is two things, one the AC relay has a failed and idle is high because the ECU knows that AC request is active or two, the vac hose at the base of the TB has come off the fitting.
  15. ISA could be at fault. Do you hear it upon shut down? Also a known culprit is the hoses at the base of the throttle body can pop out.
  16. That was my first thing I thought too. I saw that and thought it was some sort of adhesive that got really warm and got runny, I will have to test it for conductivity though. The only thing that makes sense to have any adhesive is the control chip to hard drive case as a heat sink but there’s nothing around the main chip that’s if similar color or substance. Yeah I can snap one here in a minute for ya. Nothin has spilled as it sits in a tower case and being in AZ, it’s too damn dry haha. And it does sit on top of a hard drive bay with three other drives. Two of which don’t get power.
  17. I’ve heard of people ultrasonic cleaning injectors.
  18. That must be nice. The two dryers I have didn’t come with one and the original one from the MJ my parts were pulled from had a broken prong.
  19. As long as you clean the parts you are painting very well, you should have no issues with the paint adhering to the part. You can use primer if you’d like but I myself have sprayed all the parts after a good cleaning with excellent results. Now I haven’t painted any grey parts to another color but I’d imagine they would transfer well with a few coats. The bigger challenge is going from a dark color to a light color. I took two cordovan parts and painted them to match my XJ almond interior. Took several coats of paint and a few days to get the darker color to disappear.
  20. Low pressure switch should be attached to the dryer. Regardless of the engine
  21. It’s not hard to recharge if you have an idea but the system requires 2.4lbs of R12(I think as the conversion asks for less R134)or 2.32lbs of R134. But the system has to be completely void of anything else. So if there is a leak, there’s probably moisture in it. If it’s just low then maybe a can in it will trigger the low pressure switch to engage and get the system running. All the low pressure switch does is prevent the system from running if there’s nothing in it.
  22. No. It’s probably because the parts are old enough to be before that Cali regulation.
