  1. Everything is buttoned up and back together. Still a very healthy engine and still haven’t broken the $6k threshold on this car. Probably still very well under it too. Didn’t expect this one to turn into a budget build haha. Merry Christmas everyone!
  2. You’ll shoot your eye out kids! Merry Christmas, and to the HO owners, Merry Chrysler.
  3. Kinda surprising. But I bet you it’s because of the fact that you can get the JT rear bumper for cheaper.
  4. Heat and a BFH and you can straighten that bumper out. It’s crazy how weak the MJ bumper is but yet the XJ one requires a damn hydraulic press to do any sort of straightening.
  5. Wayyyy ahead of ya! Haha. I actually thought the same thing while I did the number and logo. That and the look of the numbers standing out looked pretty cool, two birds with one stone.
  6. Timing set time! Picked up a cloyes timing set. So I got most of the way through that today. I was at the point where I could take the timing cover off and realized I left my harmonic balancer puller at my grandmothers with the Firebird. Doh! So I went a picked that up. Here’s the original AMC balancer Not in bad shape. It will need replaced in maybe about 60k. But right now it’s in good shape to put it back on. Here’s the timing chain and it’s slop And here’s the timing cover Decided to paint it closer to AMC blue vs black for the later years. Sanded the paint off the numbers and logo and it looks pretty good. Now im ready to start getting it back together.
  7. I found an International shift boot that fit both my 2.5Ls just fine. It can kick my MJ out of 5th when slowing down but does great in my XJ.
  8. I found out that this was added to our Jeeps in 89. The TSB book I have from 89 says that some early models are wired the old way from the previous years and that the wires need to be swapped. I forget which wires it was that needed to be swapped but since yours is a 91 it’s good to go.
  9. You know, I’ve had U-joints make a clunking when they aren’t full of grease anymore.
  10. This makes me think of the Jeeps Lowbuckgarage has built. Curious to see what happens. Might vote but probably won’t like the engine choice haha.
  11. This is where I think there are two types of GM ignition cylinders. One with ACC position and one without. Wouldn’t be surprised if GM did this. Anyways having the ACC position doesn’t leave the ECU and other stuff on. It’ll only kick on the radio, clock and blower motor.
  12. It’s got OEM tow mirrors and bed rails.
  13. I don’t think a woodgrain version ever existed for the 2 door. Pretty sure all woodgrain was only for the 4 door wagons
  14. I forgot to add that I found a second build sheet right behind the drivers front door too! Even the guys at cactus cruisers were baffled that I got two build sheets with the car. I also painted the steering wheel back to its factory color and did the armrests as well.
  15. Crank sensor would cause a no spark condition but will allow the engine to crank over, just not start.
  16. Yup! Went from the Renix TBI to Chrysler MPFI HO.
  17. On the bright side, it’s an HO so you can treat your symptoms like it’s a 4.0 HO.
  18. That’s weird. I recall the UCA at the frame to be around 18-19mm on both the bolt and nut. Sure we’ve all seen the axle and frame but some pics would actually help. Sounds like someone dug through their bolts bin and stuffed in whatever worked in place of the factory hardware.
  19. I mean it looks like damn good quality. Something the Japanese are known for along with simplifying things. Hell even our own American stores over there seem to be better. I got lucky and was able to buy my neighbors tool box that lived across from my parents almost 10 years ago and most of the tools are craftsman when Sears owned them still.
  20. I feel like I recall seeing that tool on project farms ratchet comparison video.
  21. Haha glad you found it. It is a really neat feature to have.
  22. Yeah....This was worth the hassle. I now have every power feature Jeep offered to the XJ. Probably one of the most loaded XJs out there.
