nice complete AC heater core
boxyjeep replied to Pete M's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
This is not NOS. I believe a lot of people don't really know what that means. You can tell by the fact that the foam has indentations, there's rust on the inside of the heater core pipes, and numerous other signs of use. Still a decent deal with free shipping. -
1988 SoCal Jeep Comanche Build

Yeah, just availability and I believe the temp-to-resistance band is a bit more accurate. -
1988 SoCal Jeep Comanche Build
boxyjeep replied to boxyjeep's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Been awhile since an update. Got 4.56 gears installed with Yukon LSD in the rear and Eaton e-locker up front. Really perfect ratio for 33's, AX15 and the 4.6L stroker. I've also finally got the steering "functional" but not super happy with it. The front end isn't as stable as I'd like--most likely due to the length of the OTA track bar vs. the WJ drag link. This causes some bump steer and less stability than I would expect (even with 8* of caster). Currently working on getting a few new parts installed to open up the air flow on the Renix engine: Dynomax header with 2.5" downpipe and exhaust all the way back, new intake tapped for GM IAT sensor, AC bypass pulley, and a Hesco AFPR. Overall, super happy with how the truck runs and drives. Finally feel like it's in a 99% done position and usable. I was able to take a picture in the same parking lot from when I bought the truck 7 years ago to now. Crazy transformation that I never expected to take this long... -

I’m still in the “convincing” stage. Will let you guys know when we get to the “test fit” part lol

Chatting with him now and will update you guys on how it goes...

Contacted the guy. The MJ versions aren't so different. Gonna see if he will do a run.

I actually had some decals for "Comanche" and "4x4" on it, but ended up taking them off. Likely going to design something that mirrors the 86 "Comanche" text and make it with my 3d printer or some CAD services. Whatever I do I want it to look aligned with the overall build and not cheap.

Thanks! I was originally planning for silver, but my wife convinced me to go red. This is the 90's Chrysler Flame Red PR4 color that was on later model XJ's.

Yes it passed CA smog a few months ago with flying colors. I was MJOTM awhile back.

People have been asking for this for awhile. Finally got one put together.

Best of luck! Interested to see how it works out. If the price is right I may even buy one from you.

July 2025 - A 2000 Swapped Shortbed

Is this for sale? Thought I saw it posted on Facebook somewhere... -
That's why it's called a "Sport Bar". It was never meant to have any structural capacity. I've dug into this a bit and evaluated the cost of materials, time/labor, and shipping, and it would likely have to sell for $800-1000. Unfortunately, you're not gonna sell a lot of these and the initial investment in tooling, test runs, and materials is going to be pretty steep. As much as I hate to say it, it's really just not commercially viable.

It's not everything, but BoxyJeep.com has a large selection of common replacement hardware for XJ/MJ. These bolt kits are fully tested, verified, and in many cases better than OE spec and ship next day.

There’s a file on Thingverse that is a model of an empty cluster. I’d start there.

CC is a great resource with a massive wealth of content, but people have a tendency to flock to Facebook. The algorithm shows interesting content easier and commenting is quicker/more seamless.

Certainly something that could be 3D printed with TPU. Unfortunately not on my roadmap right now. -

Glad to hear that the kit is working but the issue is with engagement on the tailshaft of the tcase. Have you rotated the speedo gear housing until it touches the tailshaft gear?

Unfortunately, wasn’t expecting people to modify the dummy clusters so didn’t include that in the instructions. It’s the two terminals to the right from the fuel gauge in your pic. Toss a multimeter on to verify.
