  3. Nice I was much the same and actually a week before taking ownership of my MJ, I finally sold what will turn out to be my last honda for a good long time. I hear ya on the money pit, my last one was an SOHC vitara build cos it was somewhat cheaper to do haha! I actually sold the DA to a guy out your way, I think he was closer to pittsburg but definately western PA, so its very possible youve seen that car around. the engie i biult for the brow car was a y8 vitara pistons eagle rods cometic gaskets hann racecraft 20g chr0me standalone rc 440 injecots 3" turboback exhaust obx sheet metal intake manifold 350whp 300 ft lbs of torque tuned @ 20psi daily driver in the summer tuned by dennis howell @ hybrid dynamics fastest 1/4 mile run 12.2@110mph funniest quarter mile run 15.4 @ 104 mph spun 1-4th then it grabbed and shot like a rocket.
  4. i got it fixed i popped the rod out of the socked and put the pivot assy back in place and used channel locks to push the rod back in the socket. the problem was the actual pivot assy was put of the chassis mount /holder thing
  5. well we went wheeling and thers this run off pond we go in its only 3' deep but the sides are 35' in a steep angle we climb them well i grew a big set and went down over the steepest end and my t-case skid plate and tranny brace drug pretty hard 4x4 workd great until i took it out when we were on our way home i tried it today and no light and no 4x4 its not the ball and socket part that came out it was the rod that slides in the bracket on the trans tunnel the whole rod is crooked and out of its hole. i will get a pict I'm gonna head downa nd try to get it back in.
  6. went wheeling last night and my 4x4 quit working i got the jeep in my garage now and looked at the t-case and the rod assy popped out of the body mount/holder thing how do i get it back in there and i my t-case damaged now.
  7. wal-mart has universal hitches for like 80.00 class 3 too
  8. ah dang it.. thank you sir.. and not exactly. i will be picking up some 4.5 springs, and some spacers, and I'm not sure if I'm going to do drop brackets or long arms yet. i had long arms on my xj and loved them.. I'm wondering if anyone has done the rough country long arms on an mj? i know they make one for the xj but am wondering if its a direct bolt in for the mj as well or if there are some mods needed.. my MJ has drop brackets and its rides like a Cadillac my 89 XJ was longer LCA's and it was stiff like my samurai was.
  9. here's some of my work 1997 EK4 350whp turbo hatch on gold volks 1998 EK4 daily driver 1995 EG6 b18c coupe VW gulf winter beater/rally car i was huge on the JDM scene before i got into jeeps thousands of dollars spent on small accessories and engine builds and the paint was the deal breaker for my cars i build there unique but so plain and simple they caught alot of attention. clean, good looking, very fast
  10. nice DA where are your from ive seen that around before
  11. i ad them in my 89 XJ and they worked great i picked up a pair of phillips bulbs to go with them. i have no complaints about them but the chrome ring that holds them i had to split the weld on it to make it fit over them other then that there 100% brighter then stock sealed beams.
  12. looks good to me I'm flexing with 33's on mine in my sig
  13. so 8k is the recommended size .. well if you had a 6000lb winch and double backed with a pulley it would pull the jeep out with half the effort. and if your triple pulley it you can do it by hand i seen that done on dirty jobs on discovery channel they pulled a stuck hummer h2 out by hand by a pulley system but i think they had like 6 or 8 lines through the pulley system
  14. whats a good winch to go with for a comanche? 4000lb 6000lb 8000lb I'm going to aka custom bumper here this spring fir it and i want a winch, i don't want over kill just enough to give a good tug if I'm saddle bagged. and really stuck i was thinking of going with a 6000lb winch sound good?
  15. i would like to build my own custom winch bumper. is there any measurements or templates anywhere for the frame brackets?? so i can get the or make them and go from there with 4x6 channel stock for the bumper, and 1.5" tubing for the pre runner.
  16. spray brake cleaner down in the CPS hole while off and running to clean off your pickups on your flywheel just to be safe when your RMS leaks oil and $#!& flys all over the mag pickups and causes it to misfire and whatnot. and sometimes not start.
  17. ^^ BUMP keep this thread alive
  18. Truck and it comes to 175.00 with plate it sucks i just bought mine a while back and about $#!& when i seen the notary bill.
  19. i got some masking tape some 3m red scuff pads and exterior house paint at walmart and rolled mine satin olive they have desert tan i did a vw gulf once it was a winter beater as long as the old paint is scuffed and cleaned the house paint will stick no problems and a pressure washer will not blow it off. i have 20.00 into my paint job 9.99 into a gallon of paint 5.00 into rollers and 5.00 in a 6 pack turned out real nice plus when rolling a vehicle there is no spray lines that you get from satin paint its all even and smooth looks real good.
  20. spring spreaders = dangerous
  21. you need a harp chisel and a small hammer to tap across the gasket layer to chip off the original oil pan seal it gets hard as a rock but it chips off takes some time but in the end its still a b*@$£ i tried gasket remover plus you do not want that stuff all up in your bearings it will ruin them .
  22. i had to use a chisel and hammer to break the pan seal on my 89 xj 4.0 pan it bent it a little but i just hammered it back out and took a piece of 7/8" round stock and put it against the garage floor and mashed it flat again so it would seal.
  23. sounds like a diesel not to bash or nothing
