I came across this when lurking in the pub, and was saddened by the title alone. I'm sorry to hear of your loss of a dear friend Jim, praying God blesses and is with you and his family.

If I can re-size this properly, it's being set as the wallpaper on my phone. Awesome shot!

I learned to drive stick in my uncle's '94 Wrangler and thought it was cool, but I preferred sports cars. Then when my 2nd car was totalled (first one died of old age) my friend found a "Jeep truck" and I've been hooked ever since, I'll never go back, and I always try to convert my friends/family

If I was anywhere near that JY, I'd empty my savings to save what's left of it. You can always transplant axles and whatnot, but you'd be hard pressed to find a bed/cab in that good of condition ;)

I hear ya, now that the lift's just about done, I'm about to enter the "empty wallet" phase as well Haha, ya, I usually rest my hand on the shifter, but that's a bad idea when I have to drive an auto :rotfl2: I'll have to check the sticker, now that you mention it I drive an '04 Civic LX, how about you?

Rob: You can still claim this one in your family as a step-child or something, lol  Here's a newer picture of the Jeep: Side Note: The tri-color look is only temporary, and I'm tubing the flat tire tomorrow, all is well. :D

H3RESQ's Dream MJ, the build continues...
88MJXLS replied to H3RESQ's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Man, just when I finally start "finishing" my upgrade list, I stumble across this beast and have to add to my list... lol. The MJ's looking great man, keep up the good work! -
I agree with Pete. I had to drive an auto loaner when my Civic was in the body shop, and I kept pressing where the clutch pedal should be when I was starting the car, and not being able to shift bugs me. Oh, and before I get taken to the cleaners for driving a foreign car, I gotta' say: the Honda gets 3x the mpg that my MJ does, and all that money goes toward "upgrades" to the Jeep. Not to mention that it's 40 miles a day that aren't being put on the Jeep, I'm prolonging it's life, lol.

That's the one weekend I'm crazy busy :( I'll have to plan on the one in the fall

Kitch's '88 Build, with new pics!
88MJXLS replied to 88MJXLS's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Hey guys, just a quick update before I crash. Doing some cosmetic work on the 'Manche tomorrow, cutting out all the rust, welding in some fresh metal, changing out the VC, Herculining the bed, and hopefully getting the power door swap done. Probably going to get the doors on either way, just a matter of whether or not I get around to hooking 'em up before the end of the day tomorrow. Also planning on pulling some decent overtime at work for the next month and a half, so the lift, rims, and tires should be happening soon too! It's nice to have a consistent full-time job now so I can kinda' plan out some of this stuff. I'll post pics tomorrow of the stuff I get done  -
A quick question about a power door swap
88MJXLS replied to 88MJXLS's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks! I might have some questions for you once I get started, lol. The door swap may be pushed back to another day, depending on how quickly I get through everything else tomorrow (fixing rockers, bedlining, VC "upgrade", new VC gasket, etc). -
A quick question about a power door swap
88MJXLS posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Hey guys, I have a set of power doors that I'm going to put on my Comanche (along with a list of other things) and was wondering what all is required. They came off a Cherokee, am I able to hook them straight into the harness, or will it take some modification? -
Really cool idea! I second the move for best uncle of the year

Thanks for the tips Pete! Unfortunately I had to take the jeep to the shop because my fam can't afford to be down to one vehicle (with the manche's lights out it was 5 people using one van, quite a nightmare) and they could get it done sooner than I could (more my folks idea than mine) friday I'm going to go look for a newer vehicle to be my DD so I can give myself more time to work on the 'manche and turn it into the beast I want it to be

Yep, checked 'em all and made sure they were in correctly

Hey guys, I'm in need of some assistance. My truck has power at the fuse box and has a good ground in the left tail light pocket, the back-up lights are super bright, but the rear signals and brake lights don't work. I'm thinking it may be a short somewhere between the fuse box and the lights, but are there any other problems our our trucks are prone to have that could cause this? Thanks! Kitch

I tried the link and it doesn't work anymore, really bummed :hateputers: -
I would definitely be game for a MJOTM calendar! Put me down for one too
-
Hey, no problem! One of the few things I can help out with around here, lol
-
I just used auto body undercoating(rattle can) on mine, it's only a couple bucks a can at farm and fleet or wally world
-
I've had the same problem for a lil while too
-
or even some old rims laid flat and invert the plastic caps as the drink holders? I have a couple rims you could use if you want to go that route
-
Liked the idea of the 'manche couch, but definitely liking it more after seeing a rough version of it! I have the leather rear seat out of a Regal as my chill couch, but this is way better  oh, and ditto on the tails as ambient lighting, might have to make the long drive to harvard to check it out when it's done, lol :rotfl2:

Agreed, it was kinda' funny at first but got old quick... (they don't hire based on IQ evidently, lol) It was definitely a good time overall though!
