Comanche Trailhawk: DD and Mild Wheeler

This truck is so beautiful, well done. The attention to detail is prevalent bumper-to-bumper. Can't wait to see where you take it! -

Alright, finally got my JCR bumper and D44 diff cover on. Bumper before/after is below - how do I tell if it's a factory bumper? Ignore the cruddy bedliner finish - have to touch that up with the new bumper clearance. Overall very impressed with the quality and fit. Also installed the new speedo gear - big difference between 31 and 42 teeth! -

Car ID Sliding Glass Window Replacement
crumbscomanche replied to crumbscomanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
@HOrnbrod that's great. I'm going to order one today! Do you recall if it came with a gasket? -
Hi all, happy new year! Does anyone have experience ordering from CarID? I saw they had a replacement for the Comanche rear glass with a slider (I have a solid pane now), and I called and verified the fitment with one their reps. Has anyone installed this before, and if so, how'd it hold up? Thanks, Jacob https://www.carid.com/1991-jeep-comanche-back-glass/

Front bump stops
crumbscomanche replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I removed the original cup because the rubber/foam/whatever was on there from the PO had deteriorated to the point of crumbling whenever I applied pressure. When the cup was out the B.S. was pressed in and we secured it to the frame with a bolt. I am not sure if the set up that I replaced was OEM, the PO had a minor front end collision that required replacement of a lot of those small parts -

Speedo Gear Verification

thank you! You rock!! Thank you @HOrnbrod -
Good afternoon, and happy Friday! I am trying to locate the proper part for updating the speedo after new gears/larger tires. Based on what I've found, I think this is the part that I'll want for 31s and 4.56s - would anyone be able to verify? http://www.omix-ada.com/speedometer-gear-42-teeth-long.html Thank you!

Hi all, Thought I'd give a write up a shot, and I've been meaning to post one about my experience working with and installing @krustyballer16's custom sliders. Working with Krusty was a breeze, and he was quick to send pictures and answer any questions. While there weren't any instructions, it is very straight forward, and all of the hardware is shipped along with a drill bit for the frame. It took about 3 weeks for the sliders to arrive after placing the order, which worked out perfect with my Thanksgiving travel plans. It's 50% upfront for the materials, and 50% before the sliders are shipped out. The came taped together with the nuts, bolts, and drill tip. We cleaned them up and removed off the excess tape and residue from the packaging, then lined them up on the frame for install. We used a grinder to get to the bare metal on the frame before making our marks. Each slider is 8 bolts, and you have to drill through the frame. There are several additional screws that go through a few tabs and into the cab's flanges down below. We lined up the holes with a jack then drilled through. In the meantime I added a couple layers of primer, followed by some paint. Then we realigned the sliders, tightened the nuts and bolts, and had a 360 weld done around the base plate of each slider arm. They are great quality, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. They are also the very first set of LWB sliders Krusty has done, and I couldn't be more impressed!

Moog ZJ V8 coils. These were bump stops were supposedly for a 97-01 XJ. -

I couldn't find any at the local AP store, so I went with some for an XJ. They might be a little long but the 31s were rubbing pretty bad. In the post right before this one that has the RE sway bars you can kind of see the new black rubber bump stop. -

Finally got my Comanche back from Rebel! They did a great job on the gears/LSD, big brake kit and some other small things. The jeep now pulls through every gear until it hits the limiter. It might've been my excitement, but I seemed to notice the grip right away from the Eaton TruTracs going around corners. The new rubicon express shocks are in the back, too, and I got the RE quick disconnects for the front. -

New axle is in via Rebel Off Road. The calipers and plates I picked up on craigslist ended up being kind of junk and it was only a couple hundred more for a big brake kit in the back form Teraflex - more to come on that later. They also regeared the Manche to 4.56 and fixed a couple of other issues for me. -

@krustyballer16very easy. we messed up the holes a bit and were only able to get 3/4 bolts on some of the flanges but I'm having the guys at the shop check our work and reinforce it best they can. All the hardware was perfect, thanks again! -

I was going back and forth for awhile but I really like the JCR front bumper and scored a deal on the set with lights too. I'm looking at the DBOR flares though. -

Alright thanks to @krustyballer16 I'm now all set up with one of a kind rock sliders for the Manche! I also placed an order with JCR and scored 20% off front and rear MJ bumpers. Finally, had it towed to Rebel Off Road down in OC to drop in the D44, complete the rear disk kit, and regear with tru-tracs. Should take a couple of weeks but it will be a completely different machine next month! -
Might be a shot in the dark.. but does anyone know if that supercharger set up is CARB compliant for CA?
