  1. I may or may not wash mine before the show. Some vehicles show up covered in mud. It's just nice to get the MJs out there because everybody loves them, no matter what the condition. Lots of 'I didn't know Jeep made a Cherokee pickup' comments.
  2. Yes, I am. I'm still working on the 95 YJ and the 91 MJ. Decided there's no time for a third project anytime soon, and have a lot of work to do around the house. I'm hoping another member can do this truck justice. Aside from needing body work and a few odds and ends, it's the cleanest HO survivor I've come across.
  3. Update: Just sold the 91 Eliminator to the guy who contacted me via CL.
  4. CL is dying a slow death. FB marketplace has taken over, sadly. I have two MJs currently for sale on both CL and FB. In the past two weeks I've had one inquiry via CL and at least twelve via FB. The downside to FB (in my opinion) is that you have to install and use their messenger app, which is a huge privacy concern.
  5. I'm selling off some MJ stuff, too. Topic in the For Sale section. PM me for details or to reserve anything ahead of time.
  6. I might have space in my son's room, too. He'll probably be in my room as there may be a bunch of members crashing in the house.
  7. Yes, or you can crach on the living riom floor with Cody if you bring a sleeping bag. Glad you can make it.
  8. 10-4. It will be on it's way south with somebody at the end of July.
  9. Alright. It's yours. Just want to be sure it's SWB you need. None of the posts in here specify. If it's the right size, it sounds like Minuit might be able to get it to TN. Or possibly Alexia to AL. Message those guys and work it out. I'll hand it off to whoever you tell me to.
  10. Are you coming to York, Pa for the show in July, with a way to haul one back? I have one here - SWB under-the-rail liner stamped COMANCHE in excellent shape. At least one pic of it is in my build thread for my 91. If you're coming, or can arrange for somebody to haul it south (Alexia usually comes up from Alabama with a trailer), I'd sell it to you for $80. That's what I paid for it. I've got a rollbar going onto that truck, so I don't need it. Hopefully you need SWB and not LWB.
  11. Pete asked me to look at this for you. What type of device are you doing this with? If a phone, what kind? Or are you using a regular computer or laptop? Are you accessing CC directly or via tapatalk? What browser are you using? I'd like to understand how you're doing what you're doing before I offer any input. Thanks.
  12. My opinion: Skip the spacer, nothing to gain there. Bored throttle body, 4 hole injectors, use a good header for the exhaust and a high flow cat. Use the HO block with the 7120 head casting. Should do 210 to 220 horsepower and very good low end torque with this combo as long as spark is good and all else is in tip top shape. Make use of it all with lower gearing as Pete suggested.
  13. Another no vote. If the truck is trashed already, who cares. Look around - how many MJs with clean uncut metal exist? Far less than half of the remaining trucks I would think. So it's my opinion you have something very unique and desirable now without doing anything. I'm planning on a lift and running as big a tire as I can without cutting. That might mean going 2.5-3.0" up and 31s or 32s max. Not sure what will fit yet. But I'm going to work within the limits of what the factory flares can handle. Our trucks were designed by Roy Lunn, an industry icon. He was responsible for the Ford GT40, the Mustang I Concept, the Boss 429 Mustang, and the Jeep Cherokee XJ, from which the MJ was born. You can't really improve on perfection.
  14. Everybody appreciates it. If you can catalog the dates with VINs and SWB/LWB with model (Base/Sportruck, Pioneer, Laredo, Chief, Eliminator) as you go in a spreadsheet on Google, share it with me when you're done. I think with that data and a little creative scripting we could get some really good summary data together based on Jeep's published production numbers and our registry data. I'd be happy to handle the programming piece if you provide the data. We'd be able to fairly accurately estimate things like the number of SWB Pioneers built in 91, if you catch my drift. Engine and trans data would be the icing on the cake.
  15. Thank you for doing this. Can't wait to see you go through the 92s. I've really wanted to know how close mine (which I could only narrow down to March 1992) was to the end of the production run.
  16. Where are you getting the actual day of the build from? I would have updated my entries if I knew where to get the info.
  17. No problem. I enjoy reading his stuff quite a bit. Every year he goes through hell getting a sub $1000 rust bucket Jeep together for that trip. The comments are usually hilarious too.
  18. I'd love to have a MJ/XJ key hanger with a bunch if hooks on it - 8 would be perfect. I hope you've been following David Tracy's Postal Jeep odyssey on Jalopnic. If not, check it out. He just wrapped up a wild 2000 mile trip to MOAB in it.
  19. I've got a 95 XJ parts vehicle here. The seats are nowhere close to the same. I'd say definitelt not.
  20. This could simply be because Luk is the de-facto replacement, and that's what 99% of Jeeps run.
  21. Are you going to be changing your springs? 4WD springs are different, but not absolutely necessary. Assuming you keep your 2WD springs and get a $500 XJ for parts, I think you could do it for around $900 total. You'd want to replace the rubber bits in your front suspension, and will want to get new rotors and brake pads at a minimum. Plus fluids, alignment, etc. all add up. If you start getting into new springs, shocks, control arms, etc. you're pushing $1500. Just read your original post again and see you mention having the transmission rebuilt so add a bunch for that too.
  22. Luk is the only brand clutch I've ever seen recommended for our Jeeps.
  23. Beautiful MJOTM! Congratulations. This has given me a ton of inspiration for my white truck.
