  1. ^^×2, if you can't find a front ratio to match it, the 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 out of a 97+ is a good option too. You will probably only find it in 3.55:1 though. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  2. ^^^ yup, just drill through them with a small drill bit, they will come right out. I've heard putting a bit of black silicone in the top of the fins on the back of the light bar helps to stop the noise and vibrations. Don't have first hand experience of that though, but might be worth a try? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  3. Nice deal! Got any pics so far? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  4. Just saw your Lada at the end of this clip. Great Job! https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=MaZOMnodGHA Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  5. find your pinion angle like this on your old axle by making sure your perches are level, then measure as in the above picture. Then level out your new perches on your new axle and replicate the angle, as in the above picture. The process is the same weather it's SUA or SOA. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  6. That sucks, hope it all turns out ok. I come from Australia, and now live in Canada. Insurance isn't compulsory in Australia, so in the same situation, you get a "sorry" and that's it. Unless you want to take him to court, and if he's found guilty, the government will fix your car, and garnish his wages until it's paid back. Most people don't want to deal with the court system, so they end up fixing it themselves, or get there own insurance to fix it. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  7. Doesn't have to be applied to bare metal, just clean, dry, and sanded. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  8. 4x4 conversion is not as hard as you might think, it's all bolt in stuff. If you find one that fits the bill, but is 2wd, converting it yourself might be a good project. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  9. You got some brass ones getting back under a vehicle after it fell on you. Not sure I could do it. Hats off to you. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  10. Haha that T Gate is in better condition than mine! Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  11. I used a 98 XJ as my donor. You got a HP Dana 30 with larger U joints for the front, and a 29 spline Chrysler 8.25 for the rear, which is comparible in strength to a D44. Problem is you are pretty much stuck with 3.55 gears from factory, which is ok with 33's, but could be better. You can re gear, but that's money. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  12. You don't like the 5 speed? It would be an easier swap to put a 5 speed back in it I think. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  13. Wheelie Bars. Really really short Wheelie bars. [emoji3] Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  14. Nice, looks just like mine. 4x4? Manual or auto? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  15. You are putting the rear GC axle in as well? Isn't that coil sprung? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  16. Didn't realize they sold them new here, they sure are rare. I remember my mum rally driving hers around the fire breaks in our area. Lots of fun. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  17. Just read through your thread. I'm from Australia, and live in Alberta. My Mum had a 1996 Lada Niva Quattro Plus brand new in Australia in '96. They sold them new there, maybe another source for parts? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  18. I don't see the kitchen sink in the picture, must be bolted on the other side... Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  19. How old is your brake fluid? If it's got moisture in it, it would have boiled off and caused your pedal to feel spongy. If you do a flush, it might fix the problem. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  20. Distorted "break" lines? Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  21. Yeah its a junkyard item, but 1994+ manual Jeeps seem to be harder to come by these days. Had to do a 6 hour round trip to get my transmission... Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  22. I'm in the midst of the same swap. I forgot to grab the master/slave cylinder assembly from the guy I bought my Trans from, now I have to find a used one or shell out almost $300 CAD to get a new one. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  23. Do you want to keep your current rear axle? I used a 98 XJ as a donor, so I got the Chrysler 8.25, and HP D30 with larger U joints. I went to 3.55 gears instead of 3.07's, but I'm swapping 2wd AX15 with 4wd AX15. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  24. I had similar damage happen to my 99 XJ, it cost me $300 in parts and about 4 hours labor. $100 of that was just buying the window washer bottle pumps at NAPA. The rest was from Pick and Pull. The other guys van was a write off. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
  25. Ouch, sorry to see that. Hopefully her parents can cut you a cheque for the body shop quote and then you can do the work yourself cheaper. Might even be enough to do your swap. Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
