  1. Sounds like the HORN wire. Correct color code for wire.
  2. Eliminate the Fuel Pump Ballast Resistor as being your problem. Bypass it.
  3. Not sure on protocol, but Nick can talk to ECU. Renix Engine Monitor
  4. Small mention for the CC, at the end. MATTEL CREATIONS FORUM
  5. When the tip of the rotor and the tower terminal (cap) are not lined up properly (indexing), sometimes caused by dropping in the Distributor one tooth off. At higher RPM’s when vehicle is calling for MAX advance (timing), rotor will crossfire to the wrong tower terminal. Carbon build up in the Distributor Cap can also cause crossfire.
  6. The reason I asked is symptom sounds like/could be crossfire in distributor cap.
  7. The ECU connector(s) would never allow swapping the 2.5L (C200) with a 4.0L (C201 & C202) ECU.
  8. Did you do Distributor Indexing?
  9. Go Blue!
  10. Check wire for continuity between terminal 85 (Fuel Pump Relay) and C200_6 (ECU).
  11. During Engine CRANK, look for battery voltage on D1_4. (Start Signal (+)) I believe it to be a 5vdc square wave, requiring an oscilloscope (high impedance device) for measuring.
  12. Check ECU Powers & Grounds. C200_1 Ground C200_2 Ground C200_3 Ignition C200_4 Battery
  13. True, I've seen songs with the same title but with different artists, play back-to-back, in a row.
  14. Shuffle I'm up to 900 songs now and still growing. I call it MyMusic. Two sticks, one for my ride, the other for my TV.
  15. Not sure here but try this. KEY OFF With brake switch ON (depressed), can you, using the TS switch, turn OFF the Right Taillight? Same for the Left Taillight, can you turn it OFF using the TS switch? Each one separately.
  16. Good question. Euramtecs schematic
  17. Euramtecs switch function is different than the factory swtich. Minor but different. Factory switch is (Switched-OFF-ON). Euramtecs switch is (ON-AUTO(Switched)-ON)).
  18. Using a voltmeter or 12vdc testlight (preferred) check for Battery_Voltage on the following pins (use battery_negative terminal for ground): D1_5: Battery_Voltage (Hot at all times) D1_6: At KEY ON, (Hot for 2-3 seconds). During CRANK, (Hot at all times). D2_4: At KEY ON, (Hot at all times). During CRANK, (Hot at all times).
  19. Sounds like crossfire in the distributor cap. Cruiser Tip 13 - Renix Distributor indexing Fuel Trims values are well within the ECU's range of authority. Yes, ECU did add fuel but still in Closed Loop (CL).
  20. Look on page 20 for information on the resistor pack and how its wired. _mj1988electricalmanual_1.pdf
  21. No, if my understanding of this circuit is correct. CPS creates AC sine wave. This AC sine wave lives within a 4.1vdc world on the ECU. Using Analog to Digital converter, AC sine wave (analog in) is converted to pulsating DC square wave (digital out). Now the ECU can count these square waves and determine exactly where crankshaft (piston) is. Based on a certain number of counts (4cyl/6cyl), ECU will then send a square wave to the ICM and fire the coil. In return the ICM sends a square wave to the IC Tach (gauge). Tach then counts the square waves over a certain amount of time and displays the engine RPM’s, always repeating this process.
