  1. Check out the flat 6 pin connector and wiring above the E brake.

  3. After you clean the rear grounds, disconnect any trailer wiring, if equipped. Also your PARK LPS fuse is 20amp, call for a 10amp. Not saying this has anything to do with your problem, but maybe its blowing a 10amp.

    Gmail for me is causing problems. Can't compose, forward or reply without rebooting system, then works fine. Still running XP.
  8. EGR has no bearing on engine idle on less EGR valve is stuck open or partially open. Yes, pop and plug the source vacuum line at the EGR solenoid to disable EGR.

  11. 2.5L throttle stop will shut down the engine. This adjustment is only so that the throttle plate will not get stuck in the bore. Idle control is a function of the Idle Speed Control Motor (ISCM). Note: the nose of the ISCM is the closed throttle switch (CTS). If CTS fails the ISCM will not operate. Keep in mind that CTS could be good but the ISCM is just bad.
  12. Define all fusible links by year, engine, model.
  13. After you swap out the reservoirs, fill with fluid, then apply a vacuum (hand pump) to the top of the reservoir.
  14. Year? Engine? Instrument clusters w/volt meter, don't required a third wire.
  15. Starter Relay coil finds a path to ground through the NSS (P/N) switch allowing the starter to engage, so does ECU_pin_C4. ECU_pin_C4 (labeled Start Signal (-)) tells the ECU vehicle is not in gear since it also finds a path to ground. When ECU_pin_C4 is open from ground the ECU will allow for idle speed compensation (kick +50 rpms). If vehicle had started in gear, allowing both starter to engage and ECU_pin_C4 to find ground (No rpm kicker). Starting in gear usually occurs when someone has bypass the NSS or a short to ground on NSS circuit. Clear as mud, right?
  16. Renix uses CPS (engine RPM's), TPS (throttle position) and MAP (engine load) for fuel mapping strategy (INJ PW). IAC will hunt and search for desired RPM's if one or more of these sensors fail or are intermittent. O2 will add or subtract time from the injectors, if needed. These are your major driveability components. All of these are parts cannon ammo. P/N can add RPM's (≈50) when vehicle is put in gear. Check this by seeing if vehicle starts in gear. Take cautions here. Also when vehicle dies on the road use N for your restart.

  19. The CPS polarity does matter. It will shift (retard or advance, I don't know which) the ignition and injector timing by no more than 5°. Could this cause a no start, once again I don't know. Flip the wires to find out. What I do know is that CPS connector pin A should go to ECU connector pin C1.
  20. Airport issue: I'll assume your running with a working Knock Sensor (KS). The circuit between the KS and the ECU is a shielded circuit. This circuit if not grounded properly is subject to induced ElectroMotive Forces (EMF), hence the reason for the shield. The KS is designed to retard any advance timing during a engine knock condition. Could what your seeing during your airport span be that the timing is just being retarded way more than normal due to airport EMF's?

    My Dad (90) and his girlfriend (95) are both WWII veterans. Someone up at our American Legion Post set me up with this website called Honor Flight. They take veterans and fly them to Washington DC to see the War Memorials (free). This outfit is located all across the US. Right now they're looking for WWII veterans, so if you know of anyone (parent, friend, lonely person sitting in a senior housing unit) now is the time to sign them up. Dad w/girlfriend submitted forms and now leave early June out of Ohio. Check out their website and fill out the application. Honor Flight
