  1. Alright all, in need of some knowledge! My truck is an 87 lwb 2wd auto non cruise. My donor vehicle is an 87 xj Laredo tow package auto 4wd with the 242j trans and cruise control. I know the basic swap the axle, trans, tcase, front shaft, and bezel but with the vac disco, what all do I need to take? Just follow the vacuum lines and rip it all out? Would the rear shaft be the same spline being same year and trans? Does the front shaft go right on without adjusting the length? Basically, what all will I need to take to 4wd swap and swap in cruise control? Any and all input is greatly appreciated!! Thanks all! And happy turkey day!! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  2. Weeeellllll damn... Would it still be of use at least? Or are there any writeups on a renix? I tried searching but my phone wasn't being of any help lol Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  3. Hi HOrnbrod, if I pm my email would you be willing to send me the mopar cruise kit install possibly good sir? Just snagged an 87 from the junk yard and want to hook it up in my 87 manche. What all would be needed? Thank you sir! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  4. Shoot!! Awesome!! I'm gonna make em an offer on the drivetrain and hope for the best!! Thank you Pete and Eagle so much!! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  5. Thank you for the response sir! It just says 4wd but hard to tell with the glare lol Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  6. Okay all, I'm going to give this a go on here since it doesn't seem as if it should be in the tech forum... I came across an 87 jeep xj Laredo in the local junkyard (which I was actually extremely surprised to come across) and originally just needed a few small things but when I asked about the 44 rear axle, guy said 250-300 for the axle then the next day or so when I went back after the lien had finished I asked how much for the whole thing and he said he woyld do the whole jeep for 300..... This had me thinking that for the price I could 4x4 swap the mj, part out the rest, and maybe break somewhat close to even. Although after inquiring on FB and people mainly suggesting to get a np231 instead I figured I would ask here since I always get awesome and useful answers and responses. If it IS the np207, would this be still a good idea to swap in? Both are 87s and actually really like the idea of staying the same year. I wouldn't be wheeling the truck really just an occasional trail ride but mainly dd in snow and recovery once I move to Colorado. Can anyone provide some input/advice/ideas please?? Any info/help is greatly appreciated!!! Thanks all! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  7. Welcome! [emoji112] nice truck! There are tons of techs and very intuitive enthusiasts on here who will be able to answer any and all questions you may have! Good luck with the truck! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  8. Let me know about those leafs! Might be snagging a pair once I'm ready to do the rear! Build looks awesome!! Can't wait for the finished product!! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  9. Correct. But the 3116 also has the plastic end but a tab that clips into a groove on the speedo Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  10. Not my style but I think it came out great! Nice job! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  11. However mine looked different from yours if I am correct but you also said you snapped the tab correct? Mine has a tab which locks onto a bevel on the cluster to lock. Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  12. Not a great pic I can get a better one tomorrow but this is the 3068 I still have it laying around cuz it was special order and ended up being the 3116. I can pop my cluster out on lunch tomorrow and grab pics of the 3116 and grab pics of the 3068 after work. Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  13. Happen to have a pic of the cluster side? Can almost guarantee it's the Pioneer ca3116. I ordered the other ca3068 and it was the one that's screws. It should be special order but available from oreillys I think like 30-something plus shipping. Not sure how much it was without my discount lol Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  14. Basically the door trim, B pillar trim, visors and clips, and if you have it the Velcro pieces on the front and rear of the cab and headliner. Take the visors and clips the end clips into our, unscrew door trim, unscrew top of B pillar trim as well as seat belt bolts (I actually got away with only one side since mine is foam instead of original board) and it literally pops right in with some finessing. If you still have questions feel free to pm me and I will answer any questions and provide pics to help! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  15. I got mine from oreillys for my 87 auto 2wd lwb PN# CA3116. Has that little plastic tab/hook that clips into Speedo correct? Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  16. What year? Cruise control? Lwb or short? Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  17. Finally got my headliner in!! Came out great!! Thanks to Steve from SMSHeadliners! Next on the to do list is power steering pump (which went out a while ago and am just getting to it because I'm going to be digging into her anyway) and the timing chain which has recently started slapping around.. 18. And you have no idea how much I appreciate it!! Thank you!! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  19. Thank you so much cruiser54! I greatly appreciate it!! I'm also super new to all this and am only 20 with tons of BASIC knowledge but very limited knowledge when it comes to electricity and wiring but trying to learn. I just purchased a Bosch multimeter in an attempt to dive in and tackle it myself. Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  20. Any ideas on places to start looking? My harness is pretty aged and I think a new harness is in its future but not until I can afford to rebuild the bottom end (already replaced valve train and head) and start fresh. Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  21. Another bizarrity is my input voltage is reading 11.5... I'm leaning towards issues with my harness... The variance in ohms even after the grounds is beyond me x.x I've done the c101 refreshing as well... Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  22. Unfortunately I've already done both sensor as well as injector ground upgrades.... Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  23. Also have tested cps and it is well within the range although while attempting to check ac voltage at plug while someone cranks over, I'm getting nothing. But know I'm getting power Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  24. UPDATE I've still been experiencing occasional stalling but has started backfiring/bogging out when attempting to accelerate and have to try to pump the gas to gain any speed as it will continue unless at a low acceleration. Even then it still wants to bog out and backfires. I have noticed that sometimes when it's doing this I can pull over turn it off and start it back up and usually will drive fine afterwards. I've redone the sensor grounds but still getting variances in ohms while performing the wiggle test. Going to pull plugs and check them out and will update. Any help/ideas are greatly appreciated at this time! Thanks all! Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
  25. Lol shhh they need their privacy... [emoji23] Sent from my LGMS210 using Tapatalk
