  1. Yep. That was the second thing I did. I think I'm going to wind up swapping out the entire engine bay wiring harness. Ain't seen so many corroded plugs, connectors, terminals in my life. And tnx for the info.
  2. Can anyone identify these relays? Located on the right hand fender well. I can't find sh*t on them in my FSM, Haynes or Chilton manuals. 1987 MJ. 4.0. 5 speed. Drove the truck yesterday. Ran fine. Went out this AM and it wouldn't start. Been messing with it all day. Got gas. Got spark. Weak but a spark at the plugs. It tries but just won't go. :dunno:
  3. Place a steel rod, or small screw driver in the pin hole. Something to work with. Then get a claw hammer or crow bar. prying against the door it should come out. They can be a B*tch but it will come. Or remove the two bolts holding the roller assembly. Remove it from inside the door.
  4. :dunno: ? Explanation. I made a post which was wrong. Tried to delete it. It would not delete. Had to put something here.
  5. That makes two genius's that were wrong. I thought they were for seat belts too.
  6. Ah, Seen that after you pointed it out.
  7. I have a '96XJ. How old do you want? Where are you?
  8. Neat.
  9. You got something you wanted and had some fun doing it. That's what life's all about, or should be.
  10. Some of the old timers here may remember the time a couple years ago, give or take a year. when I made a 'save the MJ' run up to West of Denver. CC member Phil was moving to Nevada going to college when his MJ over heated and he left it in a parking area. Yesterday I finally made up my mind to get it fixed. Swapped the plastic bottle first, It was split down the side. Then decided to swap the radiator. Not the problem. OK. Change the thermostat. Found the problem. Thermostat housing was is two pieces. Never caught it before because of all the coolant all over the engine bay. Also changed the transmission quick disconnect. It's a sweet running little Jeep now.
  11. As soon as I 'm through here, I'm headed to town. We'll see.
  12. They don't. That's why most, all?, of the big rigs have engine driven vacuum pumps.
  13. Don, You didn't disappoint me. I had a hunch you would be first. Started to just PM ya and not bother with a post.
  14. On a '87 MJ with AW4 transmission there are two lines carrying trans fluid to the radiator. One line goes to the top left of the radiator and the other line goes to the bottom left of the radiator. The top line is attached with a flare nut. The bottom line has a quick disconnect fitting. You squeeze two ears together and the tube pops out. Mines leaking. I've been to Auto Zone, Advance Auto, NAPA and O'Reilly. They not only didn't have one, they didn't even know what I was talking about. Might have to go to the stealership manana and see what they can come up with. I can find no reference in the FSM, Chilton's or any other info on it. Does anybody know what the official name, nomenclature is? Know where I can get one? :dunno:
  15. I was abducted by aliens a while back. Since there wasn't much I could do about it I decided to just make the best of the situation. So I was my usual obnoxious, sarcastic, fault finding, bitching and occasionally humorous self. Everything was going great until I pinched the navigators butt. I think she was a she. Was kinda cute despite the pale yellowish green color. They made a 180, returning to Earth, dropping me off and kidnapping some schmuck standing on the corner instead.
  16. Interesting tidbit. For people who like tidbits. At the end end of WII when the B29 finally got into action, they used multi fuel engines. Used 100 octane Av for take off and climbing to altitude. After reaching their altitude they would switch to diesel for cruising.
  17. a1500ram. That's his handle here on CC.
  18. Contact a1500ram, Steve. He makes headliners, does good work and he stands behind it.
  19. That's your exciter voltage. It's applied to the field windings. Needed for the alt to work.
  20. YEP! Some peeps just don't recognize tongue in cheek humor. :rotf: Oh. And that's 'Parlez vous Francais' Do you speak French?
  21. I don't mind doing a little traveling but let's get real. San Diego? Wonder if he would deliver.
  22. Sounds like to me you just got yourself a truckload of head aches. I would suggest you find some dumb fish and pawn it off on him. Should be somebody around dumb enough to want it. I'm PM'ing you my PN.
  23. Is there a story behind that?
  24. Cleared the cobwebs off.
