  1. An old Mack and Diamond T fan. Everytime I see a junked one I strip the bulldog off the hood and the chrome emblems off the side cowling and all the aluminum spec data labels off the dash.Must have a footlocker full of the stuff. Never owned a Mack but had a '37 Diamond T 1ton and a '47 Diamond T 1 ton.

    WTB: Parts

18 Gal 16 3/4"X30 1/2" 23 Gal 17"X37" measurement taken with ruler flat on the weld seam. When trying to salvage a tank I have covered the outside with fiberglass. Make sure you get it clean, all rust and dirt off. Otherwise you're just wasting your time. On the inside get some aircraft tank sealer. Seals holes and rust. In your case I'd just get a new tank.
  4. Timing and, or a rich mixture.

    Yeah. Me too.
  6. I just jammed a piece of cardboard between the glass and body. It works.
  7. Would somebody please add my name to that list. Or tell me how and I'll do it.
  8. When it's cold enough out the lube in the tranny is thick enough to make the tranny act like an automatic.Even in nuetral. Just pushing in the clutch will help a cold engine start just by taking the load of turning the trans off the starter.Try it. Hit the starter and after the engine starts spinning push in the clutch. You will hear the engine, starter go faster. Also after it's started, let the clutch out. You will hear a drop in RPM's. That is a cold thick lube load on the engine.
  9. The tranny is a two section thing. The gear box itself contains all the gears. Maybe thats why it's referred to as the gear section. The shifting unit is bolted on behind the gear unit.Removing the shift lever, shift lever cover won't gain you anything.Altho it will make it easier to fill with lube if you don't have a gun to fill from underneath.
  10. I have reached the point where if I need anything the first thing I do is check EBay. Read the description. Have any questions ask the vendor, Make sure of what you're getting. Pay with PayPal.Any problems they will resolve them. Also don't get the fiest item you see. Check them all. Example. I have seen MJ fiel pumps offered for as little as $14 and as high as $96.Just do your homework.
  11. A bottle of Jack Daniels.
  12. It's normal for machinery to be be stiff when it's cold. However I would suggest going to a thinner viscosity lube.
  13. Since you do have a natural gas supply somewhere in the area, I 'd go with it and forget kerosene, propane. With cost being a deciding factor of course.

6? Wanted more than Pete had, but it became habit forming. :rotf:
  15. Drove truck between Pueblo an Denver for awhile. After a fresh snow storm saw at least 5 and sometimes 2 dozen vehicles stuck. Interesting note. 98% of the ones laying on their roof were 4WD. It's not the vehicle. It's the hair brained idiot driving.WOW! ! I got 4WD. TROMP ! ! Let's go.
  16. Had the same problem with a '38 Buick.Greasing the cable helped but not entirely. Finally removed cable and housing from car. Cleaned thoroughly, Cleaning solvent and .22cal bore brush thru housing, good soaking and wipe down of cable. Make dern sure ya get all the solvent out B4 reassembling.Reassembled using graphite and white lube mixture. Worked great for a week. Then the speedometer head quit. Sometimes I feel like going into another racket.
  17. Aw tear it up. I got one I'll sell ya. :rotf:

  21. I'll take a set. Question. Where do we get the lights at that fit in these? Are they off the shelf at any parts store or are they special order?
  22. In 1966 I bought a new Dodge Camper Special off the show room floor. I had to wreck that sucker 3 times before they finally totalled it.
  23. Had a accident in town yesterday. A Blazer and a Cherokee collided at an intersection. Both were going the same speed so no built up momentum advantage there. The Cherokee suffered minor front end damage. Two occupants un injured.Blazer rolled over landing on it's roof. All three occupants required hospitalation. Moral. If ya want to see an accident, stand at a intersection.
  24. Unless there's a big price difference take propane.I've run half adozen vehicles and heated with it and never had any cold weather problems.
  25. Wondering why he would want to swap for anyway. Unless there's a compelling reason to such as a bad motor, going to pull mobile homes etc. why? My '89 2.5 5speed d35 4:10 does everything I could want it to. Good milage 20MPG. Dependable. Starts and gets me to where I'm going and back again and does it at 75-80 MPH. I'm sure a Vette or Firebird will out accellerate it but who cares. And this coming from an original hot rodder.
