  1. You couldn't get a big enough oxy bottle to really do any good. I prefer turbo charging. Don't go wild on the boost. Just enough to maintain sea level pressure.
  2. Did ya hook the wire back up? Swap switches.
  3. I have a '89 2.5 that did that. Once it started it ran good.Trouble was it didn't always start.Checked everything, couldn't find anything wrong. Started driving it more often,It began starting more often. Been driving it for over a month now. No problem. It starts and runs like a champ, everytime. They just don't like being left sitting. Also when I first got it I cleaned the gas tank and replaced the fuel pump and both filters.Threw that in 'cause that's the second thing people would blame, the CPS being first. There is no oil port on blower motors. sealed bearings. Gotta pull the motor, drip a little oil on the shaft, let it run down into the bearing, be good for another 500,000miles.
  4. Tried to post the pic in the alternate gas tank thread, lined the tank in 72 and it's still good. The plane I got in '71 when I got back from 'nam. It was an insurance total. Student pilot and instuctor plowed it into the side of a hanger totaling it. The plane, not the hanger. One of the few that hadn't been converted into a crop duster. Paid $750 for it. Five years and $15,000 later I was flying it. And I do everything myself. Farm nothin out. And that's it. Except I keep having problems uploading pics, sometimes. Jim I love flyin. I love anything mechanical.
  5. Jim and His baby. La Junta air show May 1977 As I was trying to say, Sometimes I think I would prefer a plastic tank over metal. They just don't make them for older applications.
  6. You see a lot of stuff on EBay for front end components, lights, lenses, grill etc but they're compatable with MJ_XJ. Bigger market base.Tail end stuff for MJ, not that big of demand. I wouldn't count on it but then I wouldn't be surprised to see some of this stuff, Lenses, tailgates, etc, made in China, start showing up on EBay.
  7. Thanks for explaining it. I didn't think about the ribs. The S10 was flat. I still think it's a shame to cut holes in the liner tho. Couldn't it be possible to shave the ribs down even making a flat spot?
  8. Why cut holes in the liner? Why not just set the bar on top of the liner and drill the necesary mounting holes? Didn't do it on a Jeep but that's the way I did it with a S10. Works very well.
  9. I don't have the MJ sport bar so I don't know about it's fit. Maybe squeeze the legs together? I did try it with a after market bar and it fit very well. Only thing I can suggest is be sure and seal the mounting holes as that part of the bed collects water and once it gets under the liner there goes the neighborhood. I think bed liners should be pulled regular along with floor carpets and check for rust.
  10. Just wondering. I've dropped 4 MJ gas tanks so far. All four of them the above mentioned vent hose had been caught between the tank and frame and was effectively 'cut off'. Am I the only one? As for the grommets, if stealship doesn;t have them try a industrial supply like Graingers. They're rubber. They can be trimmed.
  11. I got tired of spending money on air filters to replace the dirty ones. So the last one I bought I covered it in plastic to keep it clean. Now my Jeep won't start. WHY?
  12. HOLY SH*T. I'm taking every tail light lens I got, including the $15 ones from Darren, posting them on EBay, and gonna paint the bulbs red.
  13. Wow! Learn something new everyday. One of the things I did after restoring a Stinson 108, A PT 19 and my Stearman PT-17 , Which I still have and fly, was line the tanks with FAA approved gas tank liner, purchased from Columbine Aircraft supply. Duly noted in the maintanance log. All 3 A/C were inspected and licensed by the FAA. Now I find out I can't do that.GeeWhiz. following products approved by FAA for A/C tank sealing. Randolph 802, Not advised as there are documentated cases of being disolved by Alcohol additives. Randolph 912 ML-L-6040 3M Scotchclad 776
  14. What gives? I'm trying to order a dozen but they won't accept my IOU. They want cash. :fool:
  15. There's a bleeder valve by the slave cylinder by the bell housing.Bleed it the same way you do brakes. Personaly I usually don't bleed the clutch. Keep the master cyl full and it pretty much bleeds its self.
  16. Don't know about the 2-4 hole mount. One of the other guys can help you with that. The CJ bushing is a bronze bushing that goes into the end of the crankshaft and the nose of the transmission input shaft goes into it.
  17. EBay has MJ gas tanks for $60. For the time trouble and cost I'd get a couple of them.Mount one now and put the other on a shelf for later. For the trouble involved why go to another type tank? I would get a new MJ tank. Paint it good with epoxy especially the top. Then I would get Aircraft tank sealer and do the interior. Should last a couple years.
  18. If you have an erection that lasts for more than 4 hours, call the emergency 1-800 number for a list of (deleted)needy women in your area.
  19. If you can't get off a rock in 4 hours you ain't got no business getting on it in the first place. Or maybe just need biggger tires?
  20. I'm not even sure it's for the Jeep. The opening paragraph states it's for 1989 Chrysler cars with the 3.0 engine. If it's not for Jeep then I got another copy to send someone if they want it.
