At first I was annoyed and then amused. :waving:

I just ordered it. Now I won't have to borrow yours.

Correy, Go to the bottom and look for SG tool aid 34550. It's a little cheaper and will do everything the bigger one will. Unless you want the more prof, stuff.

:agree: It's possible to not have enough but you can't have to many.

Did that on a '75 J20. Unfortunately didn't measure anything but it probably raised it 1/2-1" Didn't notice any difference in ride, empty or loaded, Did notice a difference in the truck sitting leveler with a load.

Just went thru the same thing you did. I didn't do it ssooner because I refused to believe that it was the problem. It was. Find the connector for the CPS. Unplug it. Plug it back together. The terminals get dirty and that will clean them. Mine runs perfect after I did that, no more problem. Then spray the CPS with brake cleaner. And the flywheel. There are several threads on this. Use search and see what you come up with, or more than likely some of the guys on here will send you a link. Luck, Jim

Short box measurements Front 56", rear 55" I measured 5 MJ beds. I found there was as much as an inch difference in them width wise. They were not bent or distorted. Also picked up a early '90's Ranger cover. Looks like it would be a close to perfect fit for a SB MJ. Length 75.5". Width 60"

Finally got a copy of it (Taken) courtesy netflix, eagerly popped it into the player and..................................nothing. Returned it to netflux along with a nasty note and requested another copy. I'm going to watch that chase scene if I have to go to someones house and buy the beer.

2.5 questions...update 5/20/2010
jimoshel replied to manimal's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Being a 2.5 and a turbo believer I am interested in any and all thoughts on the subject. As jtechmann pointed out the biggest drawback is the lag response. Altho the newer models have come along ways in overcoming it. Wastegates, lighter weight, etc. I have a 2.5 I just completed overhauling and a half dozens turbos on the shelf awaiting a use. However I am hesitant about putting a used unit on the engine and believe I will go for a new one, Right now I am comparing spec sheets on several diff models and reading what I can about the opinions and experiences of others. The engine ,with turbo, is going into a '88 SB MJ I am building for serious off roading. Any and all thoughts welcome and appreciated. Jim -

It may not make sense to you but it works. Anytime you can cram more air into a cylinder, with the corresponding proper amount of fuel your going to get an increase in horse power, and or increase d engine efficiency. -
I saw one instance where a fella used common garden hose, rubber, and squeezed it in between the cab and cover. Painted it to match. Looked and worked good. I had a '70 J10 I used a rubber strip from the bottom of a garage door. Worked for 7 years, til I sold the Jeep.

When I was a kid my '34 Chevy did that. I didn't have big bucks for a new one.Didn't have little bucks for a used one. JY kept a mean dog in the yard after hours so I did the only thing I could do. Welded it. Worked fine.

If your tearing the engine apart then replace the piston. If you just want a cheap, quick fix, polish the rough edges off the missing chip. While your at it polish the rough, pitted edge at the 2-3 O'Clock position. Rough edges get hot leading to detonation. Also gives carbon a place to build up. If I were doing it, I would replace the piston.

Nice going. Just proves perseverance pays. Being a PITA sometimes helps.

Saw some on EBay last nite. Think they were asking $49 for them. Just the panel runs from the left hand edge of dash to past the radio, heater control line.

What anything is worth is what you can get for it. From the description of the truck i wouldn't go over $800. But then I'm a cheapskate anyway. If I was selling I wouldn't let go for less than a grand. Actually seeing it could affect the price. Ask $1700. See what happens.

Just pondering Mikes problem, you know, the subject that started this whole dialogue, I'm just wondering if perhaps the problem is he was expecting to much. You know. Put on 35in tires, leap tall buildings in a single jump, 4.10 gears, climb the tallest trees,6in rise, cross the Mississippi and not get your feet wet. When it couldn't deliver he's disappointed, depressed. Or maybe it could do all those things and now he has nothing further to look forward to. Just a thought. Jim :dunno:

That's the only way I buy Jeep parts. The whole enchilada or nada.
