  1. $16.95? For that price I'm gonna order a couple for myself. Tnx Don.
  2. AS old as our trucks are there's no telling how much longer the cylinder will work after having a key made for it. I would just get new cylinders.
  3. Try JimOshel. He might have one.
  4. My 2 cents worth. I have probably done over 3 dozen engine swaps into Jeeps, the older FS models, not a MJ. I only did one Chevy. The first one. After that only used Ford or Buick, preferably Buick..Did do a couple Caddys. My reasoning is the distributor placement and weight. Found the FE Fords to be the easiest to do and readily available. And I am not a Ford man. Although I did have '57 Ford convertible once that I liked.
  5. Can someone provide a link where someone swapped a MB OM617 into a MJ_XJ? What would be a good axle ratio for a MJ using the OM617? I found lots of stuff where people talked about it or knew somebody that had done it but no info who, how or where.
  6. All these replies sounds more like revenge. Not defense. Anyway. My favorite 'get even' is to remove all the lug nuts. Then watch when they try to drive off.
  7. Aw come on now Pete. Anyway i always thought BA stood for BadA**
  8. I once installed a bored and stroked 500CI Cadillac into a MJ. Kept the BA10 and D35. If I had only eased the clutch out instead of reving it to 6 grand and then dropping it I might have gone farther than 2 feet. The neighbor doesn't mind the trans&differential fluid all over the road but the shrapnel in the side of his house has him kind a p*ssed. :shake:
  9. The front bumper,,er,,valance was stock. It came off.
  10. Stuff a rag in it. You'll be OK.
  11. A 5lb boost at 6,000ft just about gives me the same HP as I would have at sea level. I don't see how 5lbs would hurt anything.
  12. I did a similiar swap about a year ago. Used a '85 XJ, 2.5, 5 spd, 4wd for donor into a '86 MJ, 2.5,4sp, 2wd donee. Only problem was rear drive shaft. Everything else was unbolt, move over, bolt back up. I have a stack of drive shafts and I went thru them and was fortunate enough to find a close fit. Had to swap the spline end at the U Joint because of spline count. U joints were identical Unfortunately have no idea what it came out of. Really recommend getting the complete XJ, if possible, over chasing parts.. Use what you need, Sell the rest. You just can't beat the convenience of having the two sitting side by side when swapping parts. :wrench:
  13. You need a digital meter. A analog won't hack it. With the engine off back probe the O2sensor lead. Turn the key on. Meter should read .45volts. Here I've noticed sometimes it will and sometimes it won't. Start engine. after engine has warmed up the voltage should vary between .2 and .75 volts, It is necessary to rev the engine several times while checking voltage. Just idling won't get it.
  14. Put me down for two.
  15. My mind is dead today. There has got to be at least a dozen snappy come backs to that sentence and I can't think of a one. At least one that can be printed here. :D
  16. Which cam?
  17. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp ... n-us_msnhp
  18. Yes. 2 on MJ's and 2 on XJ. The 2 MJ's have the 2.8 and 1 of the XJ has the 2.8. The other XJ has a 4.0.
  19. When I was up to the place last week end i counted 33 Elk waiting for me, but no snow.
  20. At latest count I had 4 3.73 D35'S and spacers are no problem. Looks like I'll be possessing a Ford 8.8 by noon. Thanks for the input guys.
  21. It does, includes calipers and rotors.
  22. I've read mixed reports on this. Would like a better answer. Would a 1999 Explorer 8.8 rear axle, 3.73 be worth $100 and a 50 mile drive to swap out a D35? :dunno:
  23. One thing I remember from that, is that it ate AX5's for breakfast. If I were going this route, the dakota 2.5 bellhousing and AX15 would be a must have. I got the Dakota bell housings and the AX 15's. Anybody got a 3800 they can let me have? :D
  24. My error. There is a difference between 95 and 98. Do either one of these look correct?
  25. XJ or ZJ? All the XJ have slider type. Not rotary. I have the rotary from a '93, 95 and a '98 Grand Cher. They look alike to me so should fit a '97ZJ. If interested, $20 shipped.
