  1. NP203 - 2.00:1 NP205 - 1.98:1 NP208 - 2.61:1 That's why I was fine with a chain driven T-case.
  2. Zip tie on the drive shaft. Like a valve tick, or is it coming from below?
  3. According to the Memberlist, jbhill is from Newnan, GA and joined June 25. :dunno:
  4. It thought about the UBEs, and what about putting a second shim backwards on top of the spring? I can't stand buying bolts. In case you need an explanation of the drawing: Red is your UBE plates. Green w/ grey are shims. Blue is springs. Black is axle housing, spring perches, and bolts. 8)
  5. My Haynes didn't have the Vacuum Diagram. For the life of me, I could not get a pic that was legible.
  6. On antennas, if you get a hard stick like a fire stick, get a spring base, cause the fire sticks WILL snap, as they cannot bend worth a darn.
  7. The th400 is the strongest tranny out of the 3. Bulletproof. Mmm, that's nice. The th350 is pretty hardy, but not like the th400, and the 700r4 is nice for highway driving because of the overdrive, but isn't as strong. The NP203 t-case is a full-time 4wd case. The NP205 is a bullet proof t-case and is gear-driven. The NP208 is an okay case, but is chain-driven. I'd recommend the TH350-NP205 or the TH400-NP208, for strength reasons mostly. BTW: My '85 GMC is a TH400 (beefed up a bit) with a NP208. I liked the combo alot, and with the torque of the modded 350, it went anywhere I told it to without ever breaking. My brother's '76 Chevy is a TH350 (beefed up) with a NP203 (changed to part time 4wd so it has a 2-LO option as well :D ). The tranny couldn't handle his driving, and is in piss poor shape now, leaking from everywhere. It's not a bad tranny, just couldn't handle him.
  8. Seems to me: everyone--> <-- their previous owner
  9. I made mine into a money pit. :D I guess I could've saved a bit of money, and only ran on 2 of the 4 cylinders like the PO was doing.
  10. Yeah... Don't get an offset rear diff is all I can chime in. Oh, also, anything works, if you've got the time and/or money and/or energy. ;)
  11. I was -2... Mine was $100, but a freaking money pit.
  12. I just drive my truck up the dirt mound real quick so the tire I desire is off the ground, block the other tires, and impact away! :D Actually only did that once. Too sketchy, even for me, but no jacks!
  13. Puuurrty That's the same wheel and tire combo I had on my GMC (but 16s with 33x11.50s) and I thought it looked great on my truck, but your truck puts mine to shame. Ace job!
  14. My family's welder is a weldpack 185 or 175 or somethin by Lincoln from Home Depot, and we had to hook shtuff up to the fuse box and run a new plug for the 220V, but it welds 1/2" and you can set it up for MIG, or flux-core. We run it flux-core, cause we don't have a tank for gas right now. I lay my life on the welds I make with it, and trust it. It's easy, and was only like $600, even after we bought gloves and a real helmet instead of that crappy handheld shield it came with.
  15. @#$%! wrong again i suppose  whoopsa. No, I just mean it's another thing I've gotta spend $$$ on. I think you're right.
  16. Only from a Jeeper... :shake:
  17. I'd be weary of a 2.5 on 4.88s and 31s if 31s'd be as big as one would go. Seems like highway speeds would be a lost memory.
  18. I'm guessing the frame's better on this one? Good luck on your project, and nice job on the floors! Are you going to be POR15ing it like most others are doing?
  19. That site is soo slow! http://www.myjeepspace.com/feerocknok Just set it up. GIR, where's the pics??!!
  20. A buddy of mine got his from a NAXJA guy for $25 shipped. The guy totalled it, and was parting everything. If you can't find one at the JY, check something like that out.
