A Killer vider.

That's the Prerunner gate. CW made the vertical one they have on their site, and I started a prerunner one, but don't know if I'll finish it, cause I like my tailgate too.

Mine's 2.5L + 3speed auto = 4.10 gears and the trans is a 904. 31s aren't too much bigger than stock, so gearing down to 4.56 or 4.88s, would lose quite a bit of road worthiness. If you find your stock ratio, you can use this link, http://www.rocky-road.com/calculator.html , to figure out what your new ratio should be to keep the gearing similar to stock tires.

What to do with $1000 (other than spend it on the truck)
feerocknok replied to ORCA's topic in The Pub
Jelly beans. Reagan would be proud. -
Muhahahahaha Well, apparently I don't have any good pictures of it. And the one that it's in isn't a good pic of the truck. And here's the switch for it:

The Cherokee has the 5 rings as a decal under the Cherokee badge.

The main reason I was thinking Toy, was diff clearance and already 4.10s (usually). I'd do the 8.25, myself, cause that's a ridiculously awesome price.

New 2.5 MJ project...Now a 4.0 H.O. project
feerocknok replied to CEThomas's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I don't know the codes you got, but if you count the number of teeth on the ring gear, and divide it by the number of teeth on the pinion gear, you'll know the ratio as well. -
On the Toy axle, the older 2WDs were 5 on 4.5, but the ones with lockers were 6 lug. Since the thirds drop out, you could drop in a V6 e-locked third, but for the price you got that 8.25, go for it! I've heard great things about the 29 spline 8.25s. I don't remember on the earlier posts, but are you considering discs?
-
Any thoughts on a Toy axle? I'm not sure how the width is next to an MJ axle, but the strength is there, as are gears and lockers, not to mention the drop-in third members. As well, many are geared at 4:10. Just a thought.

The brake line came out perfect. I think it's just the picture, but at full droop there's still some slack. Yeah, I'll probably reinforce em.

The guy here pays $2 a pound for aluminum. :D

I think it's 2"x3/16" flat bar, and I know it's 4-1/2" longer eye-to-eye than stock, and then maybe an inch below the bolt holes of extra material, and 2 inches above for some extra weld So four 7-1/2" pieces of 2"x3/16" flat bar, I guess. I may reinforce them with a piece of 2"x2"x.120" tubing half way down the gap, but I've never ran reinforcement in shackles I've made, and the MJ ones have it up top, so, eh.
-
I don't know why I didn't think shackles, lol. That's how I lifted my truck, derr. I just welded flat bar onto mine to make them 4.5" longer for 2.25" of lift. They're friggin huge, but, eh, who cares. They're welded all the way around on the inside, welded where the flat bar contacts the shackle on the top, and rosetted through the old shackle hole. I still need to brace em, but I'm very comfortable with them even like this.

I THINK I FOUND A FSM ON DISK
feerocknok replied to JOMJ87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Useless for '86 though? -
BFG A/Ts or M/Ts are great on road and off. Toyo Open Country A/Ts are a good tire as well, but I think are a lil more then the BFGs, and the BFGs oughta do a lil better in the dirt.

TF904 Torque Converter Bolts
feerocknok replied to feerocknok's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I don't have any. The PO dropped the tranny and dissassembled most of it, then I bought it and only got half of it. I'm gonna use a big magnet in his yard and see what I can get. Thanks if I do need any. -
Does anyone know if these are the same bolts that the TF909 or 999 use? None of the parts houses have the bolts, and the dealership says they are an "obsolete part", which means they can get em but they'll cost $17.50 a piece. Anyways, there are 909s and 999s in the JY, but I think the 909 and 999 used lock-up converters and I don't know if the bolts'd be the same. By chance, would anyone know?
-
Will do! It's only like $20 for the brackets anyways.

I think the second MJ main leaf plus the AAL is really gonna stiffen things up for ya. I really can't think of another option besides SOA. I'd say Rusty's but I know about the tire issues and all the rest, so SOA may be your best bet.

I'd love to! Once the Manche's running (oh God, I hope soon. It's SOOOO close) I'll be going to Portland for the heck of it. Maybe a trip a lil bit up for some wheelin should be in the mix too!

Damn Frenchies.

Is the "dell" in "dellstopjeep" for Delaware? If so.... no. Not often. Yeah, we don't generally care about the search button. Pete kinda setup the site as the best one ever, and we all get along. It's weird.

Where are you located? There's a set in my JY, but seats would cost quite a bit to ship a long way. Also, they pop up on the Classifieds here occasionally, so keep an eye open.
