It'd do better with 4.10s or 4.56s.

Possum's 350 swap thread. He's 2wd. http://comancheclub.com/forums/viewtopi ... highlight= Carbed V-8s are simple and you don't have to buy a billion different things if you just have a donor rig.

You're not the only one crying about that. There might be one in the works for that reason... Four Wheeler had done a review and figured there'd be too much destruction if a diesel was put up front, or, at least, that's what Chrysler was worried about. Amazing truck though.

Dual trannies are sweet. Zuks are sweet.

After seeing the picture of the ripped off tailgate, maybe a hitch'd be a good idea.

I feel brand loyality is the issue with pricing. They want a TOYOTA axle, not any other straight axle. For shizzle. Mine was basically all money in metal, which I recouped a bit from selling the doors and bed. Wrangler guys tell me it's not the same cause we don't have frames. Sorry we can't bodylift... Because this has become a calm brand war: It is my belief that the '85 Toyota pickup is the best truck ever made. Reliable motor, tranny, t-case, straight axles, fuel injected, extended cab, lots of aftermarket, lots of OE. I hate Toyotas because everyone and their mother has one. My Favorite truck on the other hand, is the MJ. Has everything but an extended cab and is missing some aftermarket support because they're not Cherokees. The rarity and styling is what gets me into em the most. Plus, I can't think of that many motors that I would rank above the 4.0L, and even the 2.5L. When I see a built Toyota, whatever. When I see a budget boosted Manche...

Street Trucks. Handling, braking, etc..

After comparing my AWD Audi to my RWD RX-7, I wouldn't be going back to rear wheel drive for the twisties. The AWD slides sideways just as easy with e-lockers as the RWD does with an LSD, but I can cut out of the slide immediatly in the Audi. Solid axles are not good in corners!!! -
Had a good discussion with a buddy about this, and we decided this wasn't for real. Lambos are loud when they get laid into. Granted, the Honda wasn't stock.

WTB - One VERY LARGE buffing wheel.

Is it as tall as it looks, or is it the narrow front end? Cage looks aggresive, nice job on the styling. Any thoughts on lights? -

Something like a 4.3L maybe? Downsizing tires would be beneficial to reduce your rolling mass, and help out your breaking. Aluminum wheels would be a good choice as well. I don't think that an aluminum driveshaft would make up for the cash, but I also don't know how much $ we're talking. Running bedsides only, with no actual bed, would save alot of weight. Also, avoid power windows and door locks. Ounces lead to pounds. Pounds lead to speed. -
How's the compound? I always imagined them to be extra soft and I know that back in the days, they'd chunk. Any of these things left? I do like soft tires
-
And Toyota people are a-holes cause they think they crap is worth its weight in gold. $400 for a front axle? A narrow, 8" ring gear, with-birfields axle. Was $100 for my 4.56 Dana 30.

Let's not get into a Toy vs. Jeep arguement. Everyone here is biased in one direction or another. Jeeps are strong for unibodies.
-
I disagree. 31s are $124 a piece through tire rack, and I feel that is a good price, and you're practically buying two sets of tires with one purchase. Tire rack does also have the Generals, and it's $100 per tire.
-
BFG A/T is exactly what you're looking for and they're well priced. The M/Ts don't do as well in the slick stuff, it seems to me, but I've only compared them on a larger/heavier truck than the ones I had the A/Ts on. And the Generals are good tires too, and less expensive. Open Country A/Ts are another good choice.

I like the front bumper. How do you like the Maxxis tires? -

You can say this now, but... -
What do you all run in your motors? Copper, Platinum, Platinum +2, Platinum +4, Iridium, Diamond Fire? I've heard the iridium will help out a bit with MPI motors, but do little for carb and TBI motors. I've got my 2.5 TBI and melted down one of my copper plugs, and was thinking of just moving to standard platinum, but what do you all have experience with?
-
I was looking at these plugs yesterday. Do they hold up? Looks like they'd be easy to melt.
-
shiiiiii---- wow, that's intense. Looks like he needed the 20s to clear the caliper too, not just going oversized.

What was failing in the Volvos?

I always do the Jeep/Toyota wave, but everyone looks offended when I accidently do it in the Audi. I'd rather wave to a Liberty than a JK.
