Squeegy410 replied to BORDENCOMANCHE's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
could be flashers, but doesnt sound like it to me sence the new flasher fixed the other blinker :dunno: if the flashers are fine check the bulbs and the plug, also, i didnt think about this a second ago, but the bulb could just be plugged in wrong -
haha not the kind of shirt you should wear with a jacket :rotfl2:

MY LIGHTS! Are driving me NUTS!

yes. my bet is you probobly arent getting good ground to your plugs. i have replaced both of my turn signal bulb plugs in my jeep sence ive had it. i didnt actually replace them thuogh, you can save money if you want to buy doing this: run a robber off of the ground wire going into the bulb with a piece of wire on it. drill a hole in the plug on the ground side (just big enough for you to stuff the wire with the end stripped into the plug) . make the stripped part of the wire contact the ground post inside the plug, and voila, your ground issue is solved. of course its easier to replace the plug, but I'm always broke so i do things the hard way :D i can't guarantee its the ground, but its most likely the ground. take a test light to it and see if its getting any light from the hot when you put your gator clip on ground, then reverse it, put your gator clip on hot and see if the ground lights up, if the ground doesnt light up when you have the clip on the hot, then you found your problem  -
i read that thread :( did your "friend" help you fix it any? or atleast help you get a ride home?

:agree: and i'm leaning toward vaccum leak or something went wrong when replacing all the fuel system stuff :dunno: doesnt sound like a spark issue unless it is just a coil or something, but the nature of it running smoothe then not doesnt sound like spark :dunno: i would see how it runs at hi throttle, if it runs better when revved up, its probobly an issue with it not getting fuel, if it runs worse when revved up, its probobly a vac issue. also, are your brakes working ok? it could just be a loose brake booster hose -
don't crucify me, but I'm not a huge fan :dunno: it looks like an old jeep fixed up, so why not just fix up an old jeep :dunno: I'm not a big fan of change. oh well maybe it will make people sell their mjs and get those. give me a better market

hahahhahahaha! Truth be told I have a particular hatred of golf, kinda ticks me off when I see stark natural beauty only to be obscured by manicured grass and artificial hills. Kinda like leprosy on the face of America. But that's just me. Plus, and not to offend anyone that golfs, most golf people I have known are pretenious shallow, and vain. I get tired of see the same cliche golfs types trying to impress me drivin their audi, caddy, or Lexus. These are also the same douchenozzles who drive agressively without turns signals and common courtesy on the road. First off, kudos for the use of the word douchenozzle  I'm glad I'm not the only one who says it  and secondly i know exactly where your coming from. It especially ticks me of when the first bright sunny day of the year I'm out working trying to make this country move, while the high mucky mucks migrate to the golf course for the summer, after having migrated to their beach house in the winter. And the biggest problem is these people are supposed to be the "imporant" ones because they have money, but in reality they are useless and won't know what to do once their parents inheritance finally runs dry. SOrry bout that. that is my rrant for today. but anyway... chickens?

if you take off the carpet it leaves you with a bare headliner. the bare headliner is green insulation that if rubbed sprinkles down like snow into your eyes and clothes and causes severe discomfort and itching. if your going to take off your headliner anyway, its very easy just to put a new one on. i just now posted a DYI thread on replacing your headliner and it should be very helpfull :D here's the link: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22430

Best method to clean upholstery.

I just replaced my headliner and the smell of the glue was overwhelming. i tried febreez but it didnt work, so i got about 1/2 a cup of ground coffee and sprinkled it all over my jeep. it smells very good in there now and I'm getting ready to shop vac the coffee out and see what happens, but if you have a smell bothering you i reccomend coffee :rotfl2: -
i don't golf either, but we work close to golf courses alot digging foundations for houses, so we always find a ton of golf balls. i also take particular delight in "letting the air pressure out of the dump truck" by laying on the horn right before a swing :rotf: :rotf:

Haha funny story about that movie. my friend wanted to borrow something from me, and i knew he was a huge pulp fiction fan (ive seen parts of it but never the whole thing). i put the (i think it was a playstation game) in a brief case i got at a yard sale and set the combo to 666 to open it  i found him and handed him the brief case without saying a word. i didnt talk to him until i got a text from him tha said "how did i know the password would be 666?"

haha i by recon interstate batterys. they only run about 40 bucks and they work really well. the people there are also very accomidating and will let me pick and choose between the batterys til i find the one with the charge i want, and they also give me a warranty. my dads dump truck takes 4 industrial sized batterys so its always a pain to pay for those, but interstate does us right :D

same here in gallatin. my mj has to run through "emmisions" to check my CO and my Hydrocarbons. My mj is dualled out the back but not split at the manifold. the idiots at the dmv only checked one exhaust pipe and it read like the engine was off  i had a 75 maverick, which meant it just barely had to go through emissions. it had one cylinder that just wouldnt burn fuel, so that thing was marked as the singular cause of global warming :shake: :rotfl2: i still need to do an egine swap on that old maverick, but who cares when i have a comanche  -

on the subject of the 88(?) with a bench. there s a guy on here from franklin tennessee (not too far from nc) that is trying to trade his buckets for a bench due to his baby he needs to haul around. and if the engine is shot you said there was one for sale for 450 wrecked? if the engines match i would try to get them both. also welcome to the club  let me know if you need anything I'm always on here  -
where would i get GIMP ?

I am well aware that the 2.5L I-4 has the same bell housing bolt pattern as the GM V-6. But "bolt up" to the bell housing is not the same as "bolt into" the vehicle. Putting a 2.8L (or 3.4L) V-6 into an MJ that had a 2.5L I-4 would require changing the entire underhood wiring harness, exhaust system, motor mounts, fuel delivery system, ... That's not my idea of "bolt in." Just because something can be done does not mean it should be done. why do people bother to disagree with eagle? it never works :shake: and.... Alot of GM engines have HECHO in MEXICO cast all over them THats hilarious

I was thinking it was an RC too lol but i didnt wanna offend you by saying it :rotfl2: but just out of curiosit, ive always wanted to try to use photoshop. is there anyway to download a free version of it? I'm a broke college kid :dunno:

you do have a nest egg in your coupe don't you? if you have a nest egg theyll stop laying in strange places, they typically just stay in the nest. a nest egg is as easy as just a golf ball. oh and if you ever get a chicken snake and want it dead change your nest egg out for a egg sized light bulb :D the snake will swallow it whole then try to break the "egg" open to eat the yolk. it will then try to regurgitate the "egg". it cuts his iniards all up and he dies. one light bulb gets rid of a really annoying snake  with all of our chickens we get alot of chicken snakes, but we don't kill em we just haul them away. oh but anyway back to subject, if you don't have a nest egg established you should get on it  oh and kicking the crap out of your rooster establishes high pecking order too  just as a tyrant instead of a fearless leader  you can't break a mean hen though. if a hen wants to guard her eggs just throw her out, she'll come back but just snatch her eggs before she can peck you again :D

Thats called getting flogged by a rooster haha. the big spurs on the back of their legs see to it that it hurts. ive sent a rooster across the coup for that several times.. wel i guess every time they did it to me lol. don't kick their head though (they die  ) just kick their chest and theyll eventually get scared and back down
