stupid question, these lights work on a "rocker" style powered position, what direction is the lens facing? ex: up, straight, down. these (or atleast mine) are door switch via the center position or constant on in the up or down position.

No Dash Lights, No tail lights, localized short

Well they worked before you hooked up your radio correct? I'd disconnect that radio. -
Nailed it!

Awesome! I have a black truck so it will blend in during day, almost unnoticeable. But will shine like crazy at night!

Ahh, I copied and pasted the first one. That works thanks. Oops my bad! Added the S

awesome! great to hear! I was semi skeptical by how basic the page was and how cheap the stickers were by comparison to some sources. but I liked the reflective decals and the eliminator decals

personally I can't stand ABS, I unplug it on any vehicle that has it.

The issue I find is POR15 like many "true" bed liners is they are plastic/rubber base and end up sealing in moisture instead of keeping it out. I find that The rustoluem spray bedliner is more of a rough spray paint then anything else. Almost like they just put sand in black paint. So it holds up rather well. But in the end it is just paint so it doesn't hold moisture behind it. I've used this on many parts and many vehicles and never had a complaint with its durability or effects on the metal.

Its frowned upon by many..... for reasons unknown. But when I replaced my floor (welded and seamsealed also) I scuffed and cleaned everything. Hit it with some galvanized spray paint and then a hefty coat of rustoleum spray bed liner. Its been 2 years and 2 winters, and 1 as a plow truck also and the floors inside and out look just as good as the day I put them in.

Chrysler 2.7 V6 into an MJ

id be more curious on getting the gauge cluster to cooperate then anything -
for what it worth, ive used POR15 "3 step" twice. both times meticulously following the directions and process. both times it resulted in even worse rust then previously had underneath product. I am not a POR15 supporter.

wagoneer dana 44 axles in a comanche
mikekaz1 replied to comancheboy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What do you guys run as a bolt pattern with the front 44s? The fsjs were all 6 or 8 lug correct? I've never seen one in person but I've herd the old Plymouth trail dusters (not ramchargers tho for some reason) had 5x4.5 lug pattern on a d44 front which could be swapped over. -
In my service manual they actually list a "temporary bumper" and show a crude drawing with mounting procedure. Although I've never been able to find a real example of this.
-
no trailer lights? hell these trucks could be ordered without a rear bumper all together.
-
I'm with mike, that's my biggest problem with the MJ bumpers. all the companies just take a XJ bumper and mod it a little. I still use my truck as a truck its nice to have a step in the center, and its nice to have a legit space for the license plate with a light to keep the fuzz of my case. I like Krustyballers plan combo his hitch and the HD built stock profile bumper= FTW agreed!
-
Probably because back then you were supposed to pull a trailer using your bumper. Hence the 3 holes in the stock one, one hole for each size ball or two for chains. Remember, this tow hitch phenomenon is new for trucks. It used to be a car only ordeal. Sent from atop the porcelain throne. valid, but still, no wiring provisions... I couldn't imagine taking (at the time/) my brand new truck and cutting the entire rear harness in half to put a trailer hookup

HO intake on Renix head
mikekaz1 replied to DirtyComanche's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I too had the issue with the TV cable. (renix cable on HO intake) I got mine to work, it just doesn't look pretty. instead of right across and down, it goes diagonal right across the oil fill cap. its a little tight, but the cable operates perfectly still. I can snap some pictures later if you want. -

attempted to put on my push bumper from my old bumper. Realized I REALLY didn't like how it looked with the Waggy nose. Took the rubber bumpers and fog lights off and put them on the chrome bumper. -
not on the jeep but in my work van, I have an aftermarket gauge cluster and I did some testing. I found, in terms of WOT and throttle position, it would go from closed to open at ~75% throttle. it also would kick into open on deceleration if I was over 1200rpm and under around 3MAP ( 3map -14.7AP= -11.7psi?)

Looking to learn more about my D44
mikekaz1 replied to Bonkers's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
when replacing the clutch packs... is there a specific thickness to obtain? (similar to the carrier shims) or rather is it just a disk count? -
Looking to learn more about my D44
mikekaz1 replied to Bonkers's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
hmm normally theres more colors and dragons if there's LSD. but that's actually good information, my only knowledge is with ford axles, in which the "s" clip is normally the give away for LSD. so knowing round vs square is good!
