  1. I'm not sure if the HO pump is the same as the other years, but i thought my experience with this would be helpful... So my truck had been sitting for a while & when i went to start it things didn't work as i thought they would. It turns out my fuel was bad & after some more troubleshooting i found that i wasn't getting fuel to the rail. The pump cycled fine with the key so i thought clog, i pulled the filter & cycled the pump with the line disconnected & i only got about three drops of fuel. Okay not clogged, now I'm thinking internal leak, i pulled the pump & this is what i found: I got some more fuel line: I reinstalled the pump & she runs good as ever!! ~Dave
  2. You're out of Fort Collins right? if so i have a friend that may be interested.... :wrench: ~Dave
  3. Jim, I believe you are correct, i siphoned the seven gallons remaining in the tank & oh boy was it nasty. I tried running some 93 through it, but that was only enough to get her back in the garage, so now i have the overwhelming joy of cleaning my fuel system... ~Dave
  4. '91 Comanche 4.0 156k miles AX15 I can't get it to run, it will hit, miss, & die. It has been sitting for a couple months, but i have done nothing under the hood & it ran fine before i parked it. It has a fresh battery & has been indoors the entire time. :wrench:
  5. Are you performing these measurements with a full tank of fuel? Remember the gas tank is on the drivers side & that could affect it a bit...
  6. That is exactly what i did & it worked quite well: I set it up so that with the springs at full travel i have about a half inch before the shock fully bottoms out. ~Dave
  7. :agree: I had the same problem with a Wrangler that i rented on Hawaii. After i went through one too many low water crossings there was about an inch of water in the air filter box. I limped it back to the rental store, they were very apologetic & then gave me another one...

  9. I want it, but convincing the powers that be to get ANOTHER vehicle is proving difficult. Especially so since Drippy is on jack stands in the garage, the ZJ with 200K+ miles is dead in a parking lot across town, then there's the ever-present Hyundai, & finally her Subaru. Did i mention i live in town, & have very limited space? I have very limited space... :help:
  10. Looks a little on the rough side, but 118K on the ticker & buckets... I want it BAD!! http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/2158611300.html
  11. Don't do a diesel swap because you think it will save you money, it won't. Do it because it's cool & different. Myself & one other member on here are using the Mercedes OM617 3.0 turbo, this would be a much easier route to go since it's all mechanical. Here is the company where i got the adapter for the AX15 transmission: http://mercedesdiesel4x4.com/default.aspx Make sure to do lots of homework before you dive into this, it's going to be expensive & time consuming. ~Dave
  12. My dream is a M715. Cummins I6 NV4500 Atlas 60 front, shaved 14 bolt rear SOA 42" tires. :agree: Mine would have to match yours, or at least a J20 with the same drive train...
  13. Great work!! Keep those pics coming... :D
  14. I think cost should be factored in somewhere as well...
  15. I have a quick question... Since I have a short bed & have yet to even SEE a long be in person, are the bumpers the same at least as far as mounting? I am reasonably sure they are, but need to be positive before i give that information to a possible supplier. ~Dave
  16. Not sure if this is the place for this but... While perusing the net searching for a front bumper that was a good match for the rear that i got from JCR before they discontinued it i found this company based out of Oklahoma City: http://www.custom4x4fabrication.com/index.html I sent them an email to see if they would be interested in making rear bumpers for our trucks & they said they are very interested! :clapping: They do need a Manche to prototype the bumper with. I would have no problem with using my truck for this purpose, since i am only about 5 hours from there, but it is currently on jack stands in my garage for the foreseeable future... So, do we have any active members in OKC?
  17. http://www.car-part.com/ They even let you select the ratio you want...
  18. This? http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1047410 I think the debate is still somewhat open, but the general consensus seems be that it is necessary to have 1/4'' spacer welded in...
  19. Fixed for you thin blooded southerners. Hey now, it gets icy here at least ONCE a year... :jump: Of course today it was right at 70 degrees. :shake: Actually i was considering it more because it gets so bloody hot here that a portable A/C system would be really nice.
  20. Yep, just cold enough to chill your bones...
  21. I had looked at these for a while & finally gave up, i didn't see anything that i liked enough to spend the money on, so i just got a heavy duty space heater & that works fairly well. Also, if you do buy a kit be sure you have dual tension springs otherwise you may run into issues because of the added weight from the insulation (another reason why didn't go for it). :waving:
  22. Isn't that the V6 that's usually listed as "Bullit Proof"? I saw that one...
  23. Thanks dasbulliwagen, that info is great to have! TerraWombat, PM sent...
  24. Considering buying this one: http://dallas.craigslist.org/sdf/cto/2127249421.html VIN# 1J4FT78S2SL508269 It looks pretty clean, but you never know, I haven't looked at it yet but from the pics it seems to be worth what they are asking... ~Dave
