  1. Don't forget about the updated synchros from the "new" AX-15, which is now called the ar-5... They are supposedly much better. Food for thought, the ax-15 I currently have was alive and well behind my buddies LSA boosted 5.3 and it's still kicking. It is going behind a big cam 6.2 in my truck as it is (550-600 crank HP), until it needs more help lol
  2. Looking good so far, what is the end goal with this truck?
  3. 6.2 Gen 4 LS with a nice cam/Valvetrain upgrade going through a 5 Speed should help this truck be what I originally wanted it to be.
  4. Just dropping some stuff I have been pondering... TTB was the initial desire for this build, and so I drew it up. Also, the 5.3 and 4L80E are out of it.
  5. What bolt hole was the engine mount in? @ghetdjc320 Had the same problem, but the trans I have didnt have that issue, all trucks had Novak mounts, with the Quickdraw bell. Strange how some have this problem and some don't, something we have previously scratched our heads about.
  6. You would ideally use MJ B-Pillar trim, and the Jamb trim as well. Many have paint matched those peices to the new interior color.
  7. I got overwhelmed with projects after the crash. So this comanche got put into storage as well with the other... I ended up keeping my totaled Denali, and buying a parts truck to fix my original. Did a nice Engine refresh, TSP cam, springs, retainers, gaskets etc. New suspension, body panels, steering, interior, air bags, seatbelts ETC. But my truck is done, for the most part now. Some small odds and ends to tidy up still. Things with the Comanches kind of took a turn, in passing, I noticed a crack on the 5.3 that was in the Grey IFS comanche, and I had the 4.8 sitting waiting to go into the Street Comanche that will likely get a Cam and go into the IFS Comanche. That being said, the parts truck I got to repair my Denali, also has an Aluminum 6.2, that would make a great motor for the street MJ build. That is the plan for the time being, The 4.8 is getting worked on currently, and will likely get swung into the IFS comanche quickly so that I can get back onto the street Comanche build. Been a whirlwind the past month getting the truck figured out. Trying to get back into the swing of things.
  8. Well, as youve seen in this build thread I originally bought a 4.8 to put in this MJ, but this last weekend the plans may have changed. My daily driver was a 2012 Sierra Denali, for those of you who don't know, the Denali's came with a "truck version" of the LS3, its a 6.2 liter all aluminum gen 4 LS. They have about 415HP from the factory. With a relatively basic cam, it is easily a 500+HP motor that weighs less than the 4.0 did. Long story short, I was in a 3 car, and 1 boat pileup, not my fault whatsoever. The truck is almost certainly totaled, my boat survived with some minor glasswork needed. The Fiance and I came out with just bumps and bruises luckily. Three other people in the wreck also just bumps and bruises. The vehicles all did the job and kept everybody safe. I also have a crawler XJ that is going to get an LS after this MJ build...and I think this MJ would benefit from a lighter more powerful engine rather than the crawler that is heavy and slow regardless. So IF I can come to an agreement wit insurance, I will buy the Sierra back and part it out, keeping the engine, trans, ECU, Harness for myself. The 4.8 will then get built as a torquey motor for the Crawler XJ The other part I am considering keeping is the front seats, not only are they nice leather plush seats, but they are 3 stage heated, and 3 stage cooled seats. By far my favorite option of any car I have ever had is cooled seats. (new daily driver must have this option as well lol) I submitted the claim to the insurance on the truck yesterday, and will find out in the coming week or two what the details are, fingers crossed I can work a deal with insurance. This morning I went to the tow yard to get my belongings out of the truck, and had a brief moment alone so I started the truck, motor still sounds just fine and ran great.
  9. I have my template that I made for the booster/Steering/Bulkhead connector, might be willing to pass it on after I am done with it The only other holes are for the HVAC box, and a couple pass thru grommets, all pretty generic hole saw solutions. As for the HVAC foam insulator , easiest to just use the foam off the older era HVAC box on the newer style HVAC box
  10. Depends on the level of skill I guess. I'm very comfortable cutting and welding and going for a factory like finish on the firewall, so cutting and welding is the route for me. In theory, it is totally possible and easier to cut and screw the new section on with self tappers if that's where the installers skills are limited
  11. Got sidetracked buying a boat for the summer... But managed to strip my parts XJ down to just a shell, and started cutting it up to get the MJ done. Working on rockers currently.
  12. Center console, E-Brake, TCU/Airbag/module mounting. Utilizing Passenger door weather-strip pinch seam & B pillar inner rocker? Pinch seam.
  13. Driver side (LHD) pedal, hood, dash, and trim dims. Utilizing bottom side of overlapping sheet metal pan
  14. Under Dash bracket for Plugs, Referencing the HVAC Box holes, underside of wiper cowl, and kick panel flat areas
  15. I am currently doing a 1997+ interior swap, and although there are already good write-ups on the topic, I thought I would drop my photos and reference dimensions of many applicable dims. I will try and label each one and describe anything worth noting. Each will be its own post in this thread for searching ease. Some photos uploaded upside-down, too lazy to fix, just keep that in mind when scratching your head LOL Some of the photos got downsized, But I have uploaded all full size photos in this shared public link Mods, feel free to pin!
  16. It fit better than many other V8's do lol
  17. Klipsch - Both Wireless Earbuds and ANC Headphones...can't go wrong!
  18. Looking good! I had at one point planned and even swung in an AUDI V8 into my IFS MJ, but eventually went a different route. @Pete M This build seems more applicable in the Epic section, no?
