  1. Welcome. Should you go to a local guy to get the hood/header panel Chief stripes made, have him/her make an extra set and send them to me. ;)
  2. Pulled off the front bumper, remounted the KC amber fog lights to the OEM-style location, and reinstalled. Then I took her to the store to buy some Rogue Ales' Dead Guy Ale after the Rangers beat the Yankees.

    BED RAILS Q:

With the rollbar it looks too busy in chrome. Painted semigloss black to match it would improve them drastically.
  4. Nice find. I have the same wheels for my snow tires.
  5. ...and proceeded to... (POST COUNT BOOST THREAD!!!) ehhh
  6. $8 for a new glovebox door, flip down sunvisors with mirrors, matching push-in/pop-out ciggy lighter, 2.5 Litre emblem from a Cherokee, and rubber shifter boot- all courtesy of the local u-pull-it yard.
  7. I've read this thread, then I went back and re-read it. I did not see any mention of taping joints (like hood to fender, bed to cab, etc.) and wonder if they would be of any advantage... even 1/4 of a mile/gal improvements. Maybe some plexi sheets over the headlight bezels? Also coming to mind is the flow of air beneath the trucks. Comanche's aren't very pretty underneath and there's loads of pockets and ridges hiding in plain sight. Any thoughts about what can be done to assist airflow beneath? Anyone consider a diffuser for the rear beneath the bed like the back of a 458 Italia or 430 Scuderia... maybe incorporated into a rollpan?
  8. My 1987 2wd base model (built in Aug 1986) has the old block-style letters on the front fenders.
  9. I used a 3/8" extension of about 8" in length on a socket wrench. Worked rather well as it cleared the license plate (but not trailer hitch ball). On a related note, will a full size mounted tire (235/75 R15) fit underneath in place of the compact spare? I don't have one to test it on, hence why I'm asking.
  10. I do not have the OEM tools/jack/etc that came with the truck. How do I get the spare down? What kind and what length of tool do I need to lower it?
  11. Removed a pink and black pinstripe all the way around with a rubber eraser wheel on a Milwaukee drill, then took it into the woods for probably the last time this season.
  12. Simple rules: You spot a car on a public street/highway or in a parking lot (no dealer lots or car shows) that is considered an 'exotic', such as a Lambo, Maserati, Aston, Ferrari, Bentley, etc., and you post it on here. Pics or it didn't happen. I'll start. Burnt orange Lamborghini Gallardo spotted in lil ol' Bend OR tonight. And from a few weeks ago (so everyone gets the idea) a Ferrari 348ts on Hwy 97, and a Maserati Quattroporte gassing up, both in Bend. Ready? Go!

  14. thats what I'm talk about... smoke it up :) its look hell sexy! Alas, its not smoked- just poor lighting and crappy cell camera.
  15. I work part-time at a call center doing concierge service for a european car company, and make up the difference in unemployment. Ciao!
  16. Hey nice writeup. My headliner looks just as nasty as the one you repaired! It looks like, as mentioned previously, a great time to wire up things for the roof that need to be hidden.
  17. When I did mine some time ago, I removed the lights, masked the portions I wished to keep red, and sprayed the rest with semi-gloss black. After peeling the masking tape, I shot the entire thing with clear gloss enamel, which really brought out the red, whereas it was a sickly hazy red before spraying.
  18. Looks pretty simple, but something about PepBoys switches and their application next to or on a cupholder (condenstation, spills, etc.) that just isn't sitting well with me.
  19. Ok, so on jeepsticker.com, there's Comanche hood stickers... any ideas on where to potentially apply these? Along the ridge on either side of the hood? How about the MJ letter sticker? Anyone?
  20. Neat find, but the headache rack its on will need a little narrowing work to fit right.
  21. Maybe the pump jockeys in Oregon are a little above average- I've never had a problem with the attendants getting open the fuel door. HOWEVER, the fuel door for my Escape is very difficult to open and they keep asking me to pop it- I have to tell them to 'pull hard'. For those who don't know, the State Fire Marshall decreed back in the 1950s the residents of Oregon too stupid to pump their own gas. NJ is the same way IIRC.
  22. Hey that's some pretty neat info on the truck, and 'interesting' photos. I wasn't sure of the translation of 'la bestia mas bella' (I'm a learned-the-basics-for-myself Spanish speaker) and babelfish says "the beautiful beast but"... is it saying it has a nice @$$? ;)
  23. Wait- there's supposed to be a reminder buzz/chime for when the key is in the ignition?
  24. Hey there, Texan in CA, Texan in OR here. I'd love to see the results but all I'm getting is a handful of... :redX:
