Dyno queen. Maybe in a mud bog buggy. Disappointed. Stock pistons with huge quench, Needed to port the intake runners and cut shorter the carb adapter insert portion. Surprised with that big cam and better flowing head and 4 barrel carb it only reved to 5000. Now do a real world build with factory EFI and ignition control.

I have them in 2 of my XJs and F150. Love em, wouldn't use anything else for the type of use we do.

Thanks, I was looking at ProFender 2.0 were like $1540 shipped with springs. I think that I will go with these FOA 2.5 for $1625 shipped. They are USA based and seem to have more offroad experience and advice. -

WOW those are some big tires and wheels, 46s. What coilover brand are those? What spring rating did you use? Price? We need to come by and check out your build. My son is in your area on a regular basis visiting friends. -
Look at the Eastwood MIG 250. Bought one recently and it welds better than anything else we have used. $899, you get more than you pay for. http://www.eastwood.com/mig-250.html

Had a bad running and stalling issue and found that when we redid the fuel tank pickup, you really do need the sock filter. We sucked up some fuel tank debris and clogged the fuel filter/water separator and clogged the fuel line from the tank to the fuel filter. Cleaned everyting, blew it out, replaced the filter and added a filter sock to the fuel tank pickup. Back running well. Now for the latest--

Thanks, I like that. I thought it was ? oil or water. Vacuum, umm, I got some ideas for that. Second that on the Red Line hood struts. We have a set and they work perfectly. I have looked at all the hood lift clones and keep coming back to the Red Lines.- 299 replies

Yesterday was outside shoveling snow and after was moving cars in the driveway. 20*F. Tried the diesel. Wasn't sure because the cold start mechanism was not hooked up. Glow plug light on, waited, light off and it sputtered, died, sputtered, died. After about 3 tries it caught, sputtered and then cleared up and idled and reved as usual. All this still with summer fuel and additive.

Son drove it like 200 miles today. He went to NJ and met up with some guys from here with 2 Diesel Comanches. He said it was quite a site with 3x 2.1 Diesel Jeeps all in one spot. So hopefully now we can get back to all the other little things that need to be addressed like getting the front drive shaft installed and getting back to 4WD.

Yesterday was warmer, 35* but no wind, snow or rain. My son installed the IP and all the fuel lines. Replaced 1 broken rubber fuel line. Pulled the radiator, crank pulley and re-timed the belt, the crank and cam didn't move, just had to time the IP. He is getting good at that, like the 10th time. Bought a bulb fuel primer and primed the IP. Went to crank and it only clicked. The ground cable pulled out of the cheapo battery cable clamp. Fixed that and it cranked and started. Sputtered and coughed until the IP was all clear of air. Idled fine and took it for a test drive. All is well, worked fine. Now he just has to burn out the 32 gallons of summer diesel fuel and add some winter blend. Knock wood, so far so good.

Driver side motor mount in. New Glow Plugs in. Fixed a few wires and splices. Tomorrow hopefully the Injector pump will go in and retime the timing belt and give it a start. Keep your fingers crossed.

Keeping that bracket on the rear of the starter which bolts to the block is really important. I think that if it was missing then the weight of the starter plus it's starting torque will halp contribute to breaking the bellhousings which these are prone to have. Friggne snow and cold, no progress.
-
So in the end, none of the starters were right. Ended up using the old starter front nose and putting it on the RockAuto starter. Had to reclock the motor on the gear reduction to get the brackets in the right position for the rear mount bracket. Returning the ebay FL starter. Pic is correct, the starter they sent is not as in the pic. Installed the starter and glow plugs. The glow plug controller I got from RA was wrong, that's OK as my stock one still works. Went to install the motor mounts and the 2.1L Diesel motor mounts are 4.0 and not 2.5 mounts as I thought. Gotta exchange those today. Then install motor mounts and install the Injector pump and hopefully START!!
