  1. That's what I've used...
  2. Guitars, guns, books...
  3. Oh...and I WILL need center pins. Any good places to get em?
  4. Thanks! Forgot about wheel spacers. I gaffled the Explorer spring plates when I got the axle. Those have the shock mounts placed similarly to the MJ ones. I should be ok using those, right?
  5. This is what I love about the ComancheClub. People just keep coming up with great solutions to different problems. Does this work on the 4.0 as easily? Not sure. I know the 4.0HO in my ZJ used a Denso unit. If the Renix 4.0's used a Delco CS unit, I don't see why the Roadmaster alternator woulddn't work.
  6. He has a 2.8. Ah...Nevermind, then!
  7. Thank you, sir! I got a set of new U bolts from my local Ford dealer. :)
  8. Actually, I'm not 100% on that. :-/ I know the BA10 had a 21 spline output as does the AX4/5. I got the t-case locally in VERY good shape for 100 (with a free BA10/5 thrown in the mix), so, if it doesn't mate automtically, I won't feel too bad about buying parts for it to make it mate to my AX5.
  9. Thank you, sir! I have to agree, there's just something about a white MJ!
  10. Hello all. It's been a bit over a year since I took the plunge into MJ-world, and I THINK I'm about ready to perform a 4x4 conversion on my truck. I would really appreciate it if y'all would lend me a hand by letting me know if I'm forgetting something before I start tearing my truck apart. So far, I have collected: A front diff off of a 98 TJ A rear diff off of a 98 Explorer Limited AX5 (to replace AX4) off of a 95 YJ NP231 off of a 88 YJ that was equipped with a 4.2/BA10 Spring perches from Ballistic Fab (keeping it spring under) Tubular LCA's and new UCA's Poly leaf spring bushings Beefy shackles Front brake lines off of a mid 90's C1500 I know I need driveshafts, a new flange for the 8.8, a new trans mount (mine's hashed), as well as having to cobble together some sort of shifter for the T-case. What else do you guys think I'll need? Oh, and I pulled some 4+1 MT springs from a 2wd junkyard MJ. If I use the MT springs, will adding my stock main leaf into the pack give me more lift, or will it just make the truck ride worse? I have a 3" lift in the front right now. I'm looking for around 2-3" of lift in the back and I figured now would be a good time to knock it out.
  11. AC Delco P/N 335-1048. It's off of a 96 Buick Roadmaster. 140 amps and all you have to do to throw it in a 2.5 MJ is a pullet swap and to clock the back (or extend your cables).
  12. NP242 to 231 swap isn't difficult, btw, and neither is an AW4 swap on the earlier models.
  13. I have a 94 with a mild stroker, a 42RE, and an 8.8 in the back. When I wss DD'ing it, I wss getting 16mpg average. Mine is a 2wd on 32's that gets driven fast off road. I had the trannt rebuilt at around 100,000 miles (PO sucked). I installed a big cooler and follow the service schedule and everything has been fine with the tranny.
  14. Awesome shots!
  15. Some progress: I purchased a Boostwerks Ultimate steering brace kit, as well as a 21 spline input np231 off of an 88 4.2 YJ (anyone need a low mile BA10/5?) and a 97 AX5 with 60,000 miles on it. Those should fit together, right? Anyway, I also need to get some front u joints, have my rear shaft shortened, purchase a front DS, anda drive flange for my 8.8 and I can make my SporTruck a 4x4. Oh, I also purchased (on a whim) a ZJ steering box to begin my p/s conversion. Meanwhile...
  16. Looks slick! Too bad about the tire size. It looked awesome on the old ones.
  17. From Oreilley's: Wheel Cylinders: P/N WC17507 P/N WC17508 Brake Hardware kit: H7064 (if you have a D35) Brake Shoes: 481 (again, assuming you have the D35)
  18. JK's are PIGS. I would NOT jump one. Earlier Jeeps...well, my ZJ has been airborne a few times. No ill effects. All I did was gusset the C's on the front beam and its held up fairly well.
  19. Ranger, Mustang, Crown Vic, and at least up to 2nd gen Explorer wheels fit too.
  20. That's an OLD concept vehicle. I remember reading about it years ago. If they can keep it small, it may be fun.
  21. Something's definitely dragging. Check the calipers. I have an 87 that I'm daily driving right now and I go up and down a mountain pass pretty much on a daily basis and my bone stock brakes don't cook themselves.
  22. Thanks.:) I flipped out when I saw it was a 2.5!
