  1. Got sick of having my headlights, signals and tag lights all different colors of white so i wrapped them all in some yellow tint i had left over. i personally like it don't see too many jeeps with yellow lights.
  2. Ya pretty good video really let's you see the suspension and front axle mods. I've been wanting to build a street comanche for a while.
  3. Is this you?? http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a27352/jeep-comanche-regular-car-reviews/
  4. :help: Also ive been noticing that when I'm going up or even on flat ground that is rough or washboard road and I'm on the throttle I'm getting alot of rear axle hop. I'm sure my shocks are blown so ill start there. any other common causes of bad axle hop? it doesnt happen if I'm coasting downhill in a strait line but it does if i turn on the washboard.
  5. Went on more adventures today. followed this FSR road up greenstone mountain at the end it turned into a full on trail, met some ATVers on the trails they gave me quite the look. For the last kilometer the road turned to trail and was pretty rocky. At the end was a pretty steep and rocky climb the picture doesn't do it too much justice. The original point of the expedition was to scope potential mountain bike lines. Here is a road gap on the trail And now pictures . :MJ 1: . There was a little guest book to sign if you made it up to the top. There was really only one way to sign it :
  6. Nice another Alberta MJ we're pretty rare on here. Is that race footage at T.O.R.E.?
  7. Had a great day of exploring about a week ago, I'm back in kamloops British Columbia and the forest service and mining roads out here are just endless. But unfortunately the adventure wasnt without its casualties.... That's the remainder of my ecu after a stick got lodged up into my engine bay somehow and tore some wires attached to this plug causing it to short or ground out. anyone know what that's even for?? luckily i found a computer not too far away in Prince George. Auto wrecker put it on a bus for me and it arrived yesterday. guy told me it was out of a 90 cherokee but clearly written on it is 88 cherokee  installed it and now she's purring like a walrus. old computer: new computer: Also took the opportunity to rewire my electric fans to a switch instead of jury rigged to the blower motor power like its been.
  8. Awesome thanks I ended up finding one thanks to your part number
  9. Hey guys I have a 90 comanche 2.5 4 cylinder and fried my computer. Wonder what years computer would be compatible.
  10. Looks awesome  can't wait to see what the 4 banger will do with the mods.
  11. Another huge snowstorm here in alberta managed to find some deep spots Also finally completed my swap from idiot light cluster to gauge cluster with the instalation of a new temperature sending unit, finally have a working temp gauge
  12. Sliding around the backroads so much has got me thinking: i need to build a drift comanche. 2wd lowered welded rear axle. ive been infatuated with the autocross xj since i first saw it and i could definitely use some of their techniques from their build thread.
  13. The fans came out of this badboy: I'm pretty sure they are mishimotos, 12" maybe?? I blew the turbo on it a little while ago at the drift track and have been waiting for the finances to do an upgrade. And right now they are just wired to the power for my blower motor it was the closest easiest thing to slice to and still came on with the key. will do it to a temp sensor in the future just didnt have one on hand. right now i can adjust the rad fan speed with the blower motor speed
  14. finally got around to taking pictures of the mounts for the fans and power steering, Top of the fans is nothing special just self tapping screws into the rad support: For the power steering i cut the piece it originally bolted to which was part of the mount for the old rad and couldnt be reused with the wider inline six rad. then just bent up some steel i had laying around: the bottom of the fans are bolted to a piece of light duty L-channel and secured to the frame: Theres so much room for activities now without the clutch fan and the rad sitting underneath the rad support, i also like how much higher the bottom of the rad is compared to the 4 cylinder one even with the skidplate i feel like a stick or something could have caught the bottom of it from the side:
  15. yes i tested the stuff i put in this time good to -45. if it gets any colder than that I'm sure not going to be driving anywhere :rotf:
  16. Mother natures been a cold b*tch this last week with temperatures as low as -35C (that's -31F for all you in 'Merica). The cold informed me that my antifreeze wasn't so anti causing my rad to crack. I pulled a rad out of a 96 cherokee with a 4.0 and replaced the clunky clutch fan with dual electric fans from one of my drift cars. With the 4.0 rad in there and no clutch fan there's a lot more room under the hood and it should be able to keep the little 4 cylinder cool even when I'm beating on it. ill put up a pic later of the mounts i had to fab up for the power steering reservoir and the fans.
  17. I ended up using just the three mounting bolts per side, if i do end up getting a winch or have problems ill probably redo the brackets to go farther back. Also ya i was thinking one of those single row led light bars would fit perfectly under the grill there.
  18. A little paint sure helps things out I'm super stoked on how the bumper turned out took my father and i about 6 hours to fab up. Now i actually have some tow points on the front of the truck as well as a little bit more tire clearance and approach angle. Definitely going to add a receiver into the front for a winch set up in the future. Possibly going to add a stinger as well.
  19. I reused the factory bumper mounts but beefed them up with some 3/8" plate. Of course after i had already completed the bumper did i learn about the other holes/bolts further back that are good for mounting bumpers. First mock up lets you see how much i trimmed the front fenders The finished product on the truck
  20. Hey all merry christmas!! Christmas also came for my jeep, in the form of a new custom bumper!! Built it out of 2"x6" 3/8" box channel i had laying around First shape I did'nt know how mean these things look with no front bumper
  21. Hey all I havent posted in months because I have been way too busy enjoying my MJ!! over the summer I took my 'manche on a 3 month road trip to the coast and all around the interior of British Columbia. over 10 000 kms and 1 transmission later the jeeps still going strong. After my transmission failed due to a slow leak that went unnoticed for probably years and the strain of countless mountain climbs my input shaft on the four speed grenaded leaving me stranded. Luckily i managed to find a 5 speed out of an xj with under 200k kms and swapped it in in a walmart parking lot. definitely added some excitement to the adventure.
  22. ya pm or just post in this thread
