I wanted to wait to get this all together, but I really wanted to share this with you guys. Recently browsing through eBay, I found a guy selling AMC sign "kits". Basically, he makes and cuts the vinyl, and sends it your way. You can choose solid vinyl to make a regular sign, or translucent vinyl for putting on a white piece of lexan, and back light it. I sent him a message to ask about customization, and he hit a home run. I picked up a translucent kit, and plan on making a lighted sign. I got the vinyls in the mail today, and just had to pass along the eBay ad and a pic of the newly unrolled vinyl. (Hung on my slider, flipped pic to prevent neck-aches.) eBay ad: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMC-Service-Sig ... 6rk%3D1%26 If you pick it up, and want the one I have, be sure to send him a message saying so, because this was a custom deal. If you don't specify, you'll end up with the blank-bottomed one. The lightable one I got runs $65, and IIRC, the non-backlight version runs $45. Super friendly guy, and worth the cash. Even comes with a little vinyl/graphics squeegie to apply the decals with. 12"x48"... Pretty sizable too. I'll have to pick up the white lexan/plexiglass and toss it together yet, but it looks great already. It would look great overseeing any MJ garage. Rob

1991 MJ(s) | Project Moe
Automan2164 replied to 87Warrior's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Good deal. Along with Brent, we all have a little tinker time with these. If Correy would have been closer, I'd have been all over that 4 cyl. It would be a perfect DD. Sounds like it worked out well for the both of you. I'm sure Correy feels a whole lot better knowing they found a home with someone like you. Subscribed. Rob  -

Long term plans, cummins?

Or you could just find a 2.1L. In town with a little highway, last tank was 28.9 miles to the gallon and I still have to work the bugs out. Power wise, it's like any other 4 cyl though. Rob -

He's a member here, 4BTMJ. I don't know if he ever did a build. Rob -
So... what did you do? When I worked at Ford, one of the techs had collected a month's worth of his Great Dane's land mines. They tossed it inside the back of one of another guy's surburban. He drove home with the windows down not knowing and left it sit for 2 days in 100+ heat. He about died when he got back in Monday morning. Somehow, the box of land mines found their way into the MJ I was driving at the time, so when I found it, I put some gloves on and put handfuls of the stuff in every drawer of his toolbox. Rob

OME makes a 2.5" BB for them too: Oh, and if you get the HEMI, you have to do some exhaust... tJIo1YjyMW0 I thought this was a neat little video on the Quadra Drive system. y1DG-P6oOGY I would consider one... But I loathe the thought of a car payment. Rob

What kind is that, I like how it looks! It came with the comanche, but I will look and see if its got some tag or brand on it. It does look nice. And it has holes for shackles already. :clapping: Nice! Thanks. No stamp or label found. Looked online for a while too. :hmm: Yeah I've seen that before but never knew what to call it, thanks for looking. :waving: Don't mind me, I saw this and just had to quote the quote the quote the quote... One more time. It was calling me. Rob :redX:

I could have used a slide hammer/hook, but it looked easy enough to get out. I just used a pair of channel locks, opened them up, got the head behind the seal, and put the other jaw on the flange of the axle... Hooked it and it came right out. Don, the '92 FSM for the D44 says that you have to "pack the axle shaft bearing with wheel bearing lube"... I think this might be a non-c axle thing. M20 calls for it also. I did find what looked to be heavy grease on the bearing side of the inner seal I scraped away with a flat head. Thanks for the verification... Probably going to pack it like you said. Rob

Quick question for those who have been this deep in your Dana 35. The right rear axle seal is toast. I imagined that I would be replacing it while I was applying liberal amounts of brake cleaner to that side replacing a wheel cylinder. Low and behold, it failed. My question is this. I have done many c-clip axles, but never a non. I picked up the outer seal that is affixed between the bearing and the plate, but I just caught a blip about an inner seal in the FSM. It doesn't mention much, other than how to replace it. Is this correct? If so, are the bearings grease packed like a trailer/spindle axle? I would find it hard to believe that there would be an inner seal, especially when there is all that groovy gear lube just waiting to keep the bearing cool and lubed. In summary: 1. Have you guys replaced or dealt with the inner seal? 2. If it exists, do you just grease pack the bearing? Any help/guidance is thanked in advance. Rob
