  1. There is absolutely no cost for members. At times, you can have a back log (like the 100 some he had) but there is a button that will batch approve the whole queue. The other MJ group I'm an administrator on has hit and miss runs on approval. Most of the time I'll skim the info before approval because Facebook tells you how long they've been active and how many other groups they are in. If you've been on FB awhile and aren't part of a googleplex of groups, I green light you. Personally, I can't figure out why the Comanche Club page itself is such a deserted wasteland. Rob
  2. And yet less than 12 hours later I'm in. [emoji2] Sticking to my guns here. I approve members all the time on the group I admin. Telling people you aren't accepting members is a bad move. I just may be one, but I don't need to be a part of that. Rob
  3. Looks like I can pull out of that group... Rob
  4. I have nothing to do with that one other than being a member. Rob
  5. What is the link to the page? I help out on a few... I know there is one I have no part of that does not allow any sales. Rob
  6. Saw this while trolling through the CL MJ list... This little sucker is hiding a secret... This will make the third one I have ever seen on CL. I bought the second with the help of Neohic and Pete in a hands across America mission. Look at that front bumper!!!! http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/5560199596.html favorite this post 86 Jeep Comanche - $2000 hide this posting 1987 jeep comanche fuel: gas title status: clean transmission: manual safety tips prohibited items product recalls avoiding scams No text. 7. Too much. If it was a D44 or AMC20 then I would begrudgingly do it, but I think I would do $250 at the most for an axle that is high miles and you are basically rebuilding anyway. Let him sit on it for awhile. No one is buying it at that price. Offer $200 and tell him that's the best you can do. Rob
  8. Looks like I stated posting on the yahoo group in '02/03 heavily. Been an addiction ever since. It's a trip to go back and read some of that stuff.
  9. We use SKF at work for the hub assemblies on our Public Works trucks. We installed 2 hub assemblies last year on one, 10 K and 1 year later, and the RH side was growling like a cornered dog. Warranty replacement, but still... We have to take the truck out of service and get one in. Rob
  10. You and me both brother. Had I known.... Had I known. Rob
  11. What are the last 6 digits of the vin or the build date on the drivers door?
  12. Rob
  13. From one of my Facebook comments when someone posted the pics: I dig it man. Rob
  14. Yep. I still have the pictures. I remember us all going through the barns. Then Peter invited everyone of us (I think close to 20 members) over to his house to see the LSR truck. He let us climb all over it, ask questions, and entertained us all. Even walked us around his farm to show us all the Jeeps on site, and then came with all of us when we grabbed a bite to eat.
  15. It is with great regret that I found out we lost Peter Lechtanski, known to us as "Worlds Fastest Comanche" last weekend. Peter was a great member and longtime friend of the group. Better known to us as the guy who wanted to make a Comanche fast... Really fast. He was the member behind the Land Speed Record Comanche. Peter's drive to build the best engine brought him to Hesco, where Lee Hurley himself worked with him to test and tune his engine, provide insight, and even reminded all of us that Jeep had a LSR MJ back in the '80's. Peter talked to old Jeep execs, found the truck in Auburn Hills, MI, and they brought it out especially for him (and us by association). It was because of Peter and his persistence that the cover was blown off a big piece of MJ history, and that we found out the Thunderchief still existed. Peter and his son Scott took their truck to the Bonneville Salt Flats and kept us posted all along the way. His thread, and his story, are pinned in our Project MJ's section located here. http://comancheclub.com/topic/11623-the-worlds-fastest-comanche/ Visitation will be on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 North Main Street, Wauconda. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 12:00 Noon at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 31 Park Avenue, Grayslake. Interment will be private. I spoke with Scott a couple times today. He wanted to get a couple MJ parts from me so he could put them on the land speed record truck. They have some family coming in and he wanted to get it back together so he could share it with them. He said him and his dad still had some plans for the truck, but life got in the way. He hopes to be playing with the truck again soon, I'm sure he will keep us updated. "I want the worlds fastest Comanche to be parked in my driveway, and the second fastest Comanche to be in Auburn Hills, MI." Peter Lechtanski 1952-2016
  16. Hm... Try this. http://www.mopar.com/jeep/cherokee/2001/shop/12626/40/3106/
  17. I used to have a digital copy of the Mopar Accessories handbook somewhere... Adam, I also have one factory XJ subwoofer kit left if you'd be interested. Rob
  18. They are a Mopar Accessory. Have you checked the dealer for a set taking up shelf space? Rob
  19. I rarely get on here anymore because of life at the moment, but I will say that parts aren't all that terrible. I had some hiccups in finding some stuff, but the novelty of it, and the history associated far outweigh any drawbacks. I love taking it to car shows and seeing the smiles on those who are "In the know" about what is going on. I also like talking about it. Hardest thing for me to find was the timing belt, but now it seems they grow on trees. It does use a Bosch VE pump, and a Garrett turbo. Lots of small crossover parts. There were enough general Renaults with the same engine that parts will be around for some time to come, even if you have to pay some international shipping from time to time. Drivetrain is standard MJ, with the exception of the AX5 input shaft for the diesel. Books and manuals are easy to find on ebay, and they even have a reprint that ties up all diesel, trans, and transfer cases into one volume. Clatter on. Rob
  20. You will love this video then.
  21. You work for Omix-ADA? I am sorry. :ack: Rob
  22. The MJ wasn't affordable. It was more expensive than most of the competition. I don't know about the NuKizer, or the old Gladiator concept, but the latest one that came out with the FC concept would be perfect. Meet the J12. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/jeep-j-12-concept-prototype-drive-review
  23. The exterior of this is pretty much the same as them all. They all had this chrome everywhere. The only thing some of the guys do is "Altitude" package grille swaps, as I think it honeycombs the slats behind the grille. Rob
  24. Forgot to post. I have since got the Mopar roof rack off CL, plastidipped the wheels, and installed the splash guards. The plastidip has a learning curve for sure. I think I rushed it, and that the wheels were still gooped up with dealer tire shine. I hit them with a rag and some brake clean, but when the dip shrank it started to pull away from a couple areas... That, and the lugs are so tight in the wheel, when spinning the lug nuts on a couple, the dip tore away like twisting a sheet around the lug. I still want to do the rear brow and the grille. Chrome is just too flashy. Rob
