  1. I am in a parade, its the Milk Days festival in My hometown... Oldest running festival in Illinois. Harvard, used to be the worlds major supplier of milk. Now we just celebrate the past... I am running the harvard fire rock climbing wall saturday night. http://www.milkdays.com/ Me last year: (got to drive the fire float full of kiddies) So, party at my place? :brows: Just kiddin' Maybe late june/early july, so we all have time to get off work and make plans? Rob L.
  2. Just wanted to toss that out there... With so many people in various stages of building, and having vehicles ready, wanted to see if maybe we could all just meet up somewhere, and b/s and hang out. Everyone is welcome at my place... Just need to work on a date... Or if there is another show or something coming up... Rob L. :dunno:
  3. Count me in, Keep me posted! Thanks. Rob L.
  4. I don't even have the truck yet... stop tryin to sell my stuff before I even have it.. gawd. ^^^ :rotf: But seriously, want to sell that to me? Jk :rotfl2: Rob L.
  5. nobody wants to play with me? :( :rotfl2: Rob L.
  6. If i can remember, I think the 4bt was most commonly found in bread trucks. Look for the ones that have similar starting systems. I also think there is a build of 4bt that will somewhat readily take a 6 speed out of a ram. Rob L.
  7. Yes I am. Once I start taking it apart, you interested? :brows: Rob L.
  8. Yep, just a parts vehicle for the MJ. Rob L.
  9. 2300 seems reasonable. Good find! Rob L.
  10. Take a good look at the alxe end too. I had the metal where the bolt go through "oval" out, and it was so small that, unless you took the bolt out a few turns, you wouldn't know. Rob L.
  11. How is the trackbar and mounts? Rob L. Edit: Beaterjeep beat me to it...
  12. Guilty... But it was someone i knew from highschool(a real pain in the butt), and he only got a half-cent tip. ALL pennies. We ground half a penny and tossed it in after getting the total correct. :rotf:  Rob L.
  13. Ever have any deliveries pay in pennies/change? :D Rob L.
  14. But... To what pressure? Shop air is gonna be 120PSI, you don't want THAT in a tire. And they aren't going to read the manual; how dare anyone suggest such a thing. It's unfortunate, but most people don't have a clue. So the light comes on and they take it in. Or they drive around with the light on forever. Or, if your a cop, in my case, you call the mechanic(me), and I have to run my butt out to where ever your parked after your nap, to make sure the car is ok to drive to the shop. :fs1: Had a squad car today because he thought the tire separated and was dragging behind the car  ... If he would have just bent down, he could have seen it was some rubber crack sealant from the highway that got caught on the shock mount, and pulled it off himself. ;) :rotf: What a time-waster. Rob L.
  15. congrats and good luck! Rob L.
  16. Yeah. I remember you saying that now. So that means you could make me a pretty saweet wet bar in the basement huh :brows: ? Just kidding. I hope everything works out. Sounds like at least you have your friend on your side. Rob L.
  17. Did you try some of the 'yota boards? Might even be able to give you shortcuts... Rob L.
  18. Ok I was going to post this in conjuction with my $400 XJ thread, but I know Pete like to try to keep all of this stuff here to help someone who might be watching. Starting with: 1990 Jeep MJ, 4.0L Renix, AX15, NP231 115K LWB Engine is Bad, Renix has to go. Plan on Melting it in with my parts vehicle: 1993 Jeep XJ, 4.0L H.O., AX15, NP231 285K 3.5" RE SF lift. The Plan is to make a truck that can serve as a personal plow in the winter, possibly doing a handful of driveways. Summer duties would include trail runs, and camping duty. The Factory 6.5' Jeep/Meyer 4 way Plow weighs 380 Lbs. I am going to swap the full harness from the '93 into the MJ, and keep the MJ's AX15 and 231. The axles are being sourced from a '96 XJ with a 2.5L and AX5. Also have a set of doors out of what I believe is a Renix era XJ with power and vent windows. I would like to get these working, but not set on it. Keeping the Vinyl Floor, and the cloth bench seat. Maybe aftermarket CD player. Will have Police radio for Firefighter use, CB, and possibly a PA/Siren. Will Definately have blue lights. Tire size I am planning on would be either 32-33" X 10.50-12.50". Cheap version of All terrains. Drivetrain: 4.0L H.O. (sourcing out a lower milage one, don't want to rebuild), AX15, NP231. Dana 30 front, non disco. Chryco 8.25 Rear, 27 spline. 4.10 Gears. That is pretty much set in stone. Transfer Case drop. (no money for custom shafts) Suspension(here's where it gets nutty): Front: RE superflex Upper and lower CA's (with tools and extra flex joints) 3.5" RE coil + 1.75 Spacer RE sway bar disconnects ZJ swaybar Air shocks (to help with the weight of the plow in winter) Rear: SOA (I guess that really does it...) So what do you guys think? Any flaws/things you would want to change? Money is a problem, I would like to have a running article by the end of summer at least. Thanks, and I am sure I will come up with other things once this ball gets rolling. Just kinda wanted to see if anyone has a huge problem with what I am shooting for, so I can make changes accoringly. Thanks  Rob L.
  19. I kinda like the LeBaron vents, But I think if you turned the Z vents around(so the non-angled side is in the middle, small end front) Those would look cool too. Rob L.
  20. Nice, just like when I found an XBOX 360 for $100. Fearing the red ring of death, I called microsoft hoping the previous owners hadn't registered it yet. Called, they hadn't. Now I have a XBOX warrantied in my name just in case. ;) Rob L.
  21. That'll ruin your weekend. Rob L.
  22. What is it you do at work again? They have you traveling and everything... I may have asked, but forgot... Rob L.
  23. How does one scam a markdown like that? :brows:  Rob L.
  24. Just waiting in the wings. :brows: :rotf: :dunno: I think some people join when they find us and just forget about us. Every once and awhile we get someone who has been sitting in the woodwork come forward and introduce themselves. Actually, up until I got back involved, I had joined just after Pete switched everything over and gave me the master password, and I made 1-2 posts. Over a year later, I am back, and happy to be here. Rob L.
  25. If this helps, at Public Works in Northern Il, we run full synthetic 5W-40 in everything. Dump trucks, squad cars, lawnmowers... And do an oil analysis on everything. We do 9,000 mile intervals, and thats with idling the pi$$ out of everything. Its impressive, but the oil analysis doesn't lie. Rob L.
