the transmission computer is mounted to the lower dash panel under the glovebox.. it controls shifting and torque converter lockup, among other things....

a dealership up here closed, and they had an nos MJ gun rack for sale.... the brochure said that it could only be used with a bench seat tho :dunno:

Image Not Found Image Not Found bought mine for $50, made by american pecco..... guy who i bought it from had it on a 'yota, and said it was originally from a ranger... doesn't exactly fit right cause of the angle of the back wall, it rubs the body just over the top of the rear window, and doesn't seal against the back bed rail... don't really care tho, i use it about twice a year, to carry that there canoe from rhode island to maine and back...

X2 on installing regular bolts on the reinstall.... though theyre not that bad to get at if you pull the crossmember down and drop the trans a little bit on the jack before you attempt to remove them

yeah $250 is about right, i paid $240 for mine with 3 noname radials and 1 toyo open country mounted on them, all almost brand new...

there's a few that use aluminum driveshafts.... some crown vics and all the police interceptors, 88-present chevy trucks, and i think maybe 97-up F1fixme's do as well....

looks more like a commander nose to me, the liberty lights raise up over the grille a bit and the commander ones are flush with the grille at the top

i dropped my tranny and tcase w/a floorjack with a patio block on top of it.... rolled the jack underneath the wheels of a furniture dolly, and then raised it up... then me and my buddy dropped it down carefully till it rested on the dolly, like this...

it will phsyically bolt in , but the 88 uses a cable driven speedo and the 98 is electric... at the very least, the check engine light will always be on and it will have a constant code for the Vehicle speed sensor, and the speedo/odometer won't work.. if there's no other options it can be done, but i would tell him to hold out until the proper one is available.

:agree: i'll use a lot of used things, but calipers arent one of them.... you never know how long theyve been sitting in that junkyard
