  1. i kind of like the nissan titan...don't know if i'd buy a new one as i've always been a chevy guy, but they're pretty comfortable and have a decent amount of power... my friend runs a used car lot, and he had an '06 V8 one for sale a while ago that we used to bring all the gear and boats up to maine with for one of our drinking (uh i mean canoe :rotf:) trips.... we towed a 26ft. enclosed car trailer loaded with 8 or 9 canoes and a metric ton of camping gear with it from RI through the white mountains up into maine... power wasn't an issue, but the suspension was kind of weak to be pulling a trailer that big... if it was my truck and i was going to be towing a trailer that big with it regularly, i would either throw a set of helper springs or helper airbags on it, but other than that i liked it..
  2. the only goodyears i've ever run are wrangler td's on my fullsize chevy, and they were ok but never balanced right and wore down to nothing quick... i replaced them with a set of kumho road venture kl78 at's and like them really good so far... when the mj is ready for new tires i think i'm gonna get another set of them for it...
  3. I like! Any details on who did it or more pics? Rob L. sorry man, i have no idea... i went to photobucket and typed in "slammed peterbilt" and that pic came up :rotf:

  6. all dmv's suck, RI is just as bad... a while ago when my friends father died i bought his dodge truck, and my buddy noted that his dad was deceased on the bill of sale and thats why he was selling it.. went to the registry and that wasn't good, i was told that his mom had to sign off on it cause legally ownership passes to the spouse.. ok, no big deal, so i had her fax me a new bill of sale with her name on it... still not good enough! a different drone was at the counter when i went back with the new bill of sale, and she told me i had to get a copy of his death certificate from the wife. i felt real bad asking her for it, but she sent it and i was able to finally register it. they also use super inflated values to figure sales tax.. another time i had traded a modified '99 buick lesabre straight up for an '01 ford police interceptor, and i put $2k on the bill of sale. i went to the dmv prepared to battle over what the tax was going to be, being that a police interceptor isn't listed in NADA or KBB as a model, so i ran the numbers on NADA and KBB for a fully loaded '01 crown vic lx with the same amount of miles, in good condition with every option available and came up with a value of $6200, which i printed out and brought to the dmv with me.. they valued the interceptor at almost $9k! which is nowhere near what the value should be.. the car had 172k miles on it, and it still had the white and blue cop paintjob on it, all faded of course.. i complained about it, and the woman said i could file an appeal and wait for a hearing :shake: that probably would never come, and that was the last time i bought a car less than 10 years old.
  7. congrats! you got one bad@ss truck!
  8. nice find! where in RI are you? there's not too many rhode islanders on here but there is a few of us....
  9. it's not ALL that bad... i can do plugs and wires on my wife's 99 blazer in a little over an hour and a half, and that includes removing and installing the tires.. the newer ones are much less of a PITA to do a tune up on than the 1st gen s10's.. given the choice between doing plugs/wires in her 99 blazer, or my 91 sonoma w/a TBI 4.3, i'd take hers anyday.. just about everything else is easier to do in the sonoma tho :dunno: as long as you have a swivel spark plug socket, you don't need to remove the steering shaft...
  10. i would be interested... natick isn't that far from me
  11. WBKrazy, Where did you get the clear lenses from? They look great! thanks! are you referring to the mj or the bronco, crown vic or ram? either way, they all came from ebay....
  12. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AMC-JEEP ... veQ5fTools there's a couple of these on fleabay right now, but it looks like they don't do anything but tell you if the computer's bad or good? :dunno: anyone ever use one of these?
  13. i didnt sell any of my rides to get the mj, but when i got it i had a bronco and a police interceptor.... on a side note tho, i traded a dodge ram for the bronco, and it turned out to be one of the biggest automotive mistakes i've ever made... the dodge ran great and got 18mpg (v6 5spd 2wd) and the bronco developed more problems than mike tyson and ended up just sitting after gas went up to 5.00/gallon and i bought the mj.... i ended up selling both the bronco and the cop car, and went back to gm's.. now i have this and this plus the mj
  14. wow man, 443hp out of a 4.0.. sweet!
  15. :rotf: someone's been doin a lil too much :chillin:
  16. http://www.collegehumor.com/article:1802364 this is pretty funny, thought i'd share it
  17. Nice load so these can tow a fairly decent amount, most i ever hauled was 1,200lb's back when it had the topper on it. I have had the please of doing any towing yet as my rear bumper is rotten and junk, But so far i am very impressed with what this little Heap of a jeep will do . . . You have a very nice looking MJ there shoot some paint on the bed floor put the cool mat over it i love mine Mike thanks on the compliment! i repainted everything but the bed floor when i bought it... i didnt do the bed cause it just gets scratched up every time i haul scrap with it... i've never towed anything with it (got a chevy 1/2 ton for that), but it will hold quite a lot of weight.. those 18 wheeler brake drums near the front weight about 150-160 pounds each, and i had a few more i threw in after that pic
  18. this is about 1/2 of the load of scrap steel i took in last time i went scrapping... had the bed full just over the rail with heavy stuff just like that...
  19. i'm a big fan of dark red/burgundy, don't think i've ever seen it on an MJ tho, it'd probably look pretty sweet... i used to have a '99 buick, dark toreador red was the name of the paint i believe...
  20. i don't believe they all came with one, the more stripped down the truck was brand new the less likely it is to have that trimpiece...
  21. i think they used the same glue on the column shift knobs that they used to hold the heat shield on the space shuttle.... if you don't care about destroying the knob, a large pair of vise grips should work just fine..
