  1. so does anyone sell a version of those metal ones that are bolt on? If I'm gunna buy a set i don't wana tweak them to fit correctly. I seem to have a the worse luck with these damn plastic ones. Gone through a full set already.
  2. you just happen to have a set of old Dakota taillights laying around? I wonder what other goodies you have laying around...
  3. Mine does it right around 54-56 then disappears to never to be seen again.
  4. not to hijack the forum but.... I want a set of doors without wing windows. They are loud and leak and I'm tired of it. Both sets of doors I have do it. There is an XJ in the school lot with replaced doors that doesn't have wing windows. Guy doesn't know what they came off of, spare set came with it. Anyone got ideas? Was it a trim package or lack of package? Years? Thanks
  5. so i was lusting after the Zone MJ.....again and I just really noticed that the bedsides are flared to fit the monster tires under that thing. How/what did they do? Did they just make a custom bed for it? Did they do a skin graft from a dually?
  6. I used it for the first time at 190,xxx miles and 4,xxx miles later when i took the oil pan off I noticed a few clumps of dried gunk on the the oil pickup filter. I have a feeling the the sea foam knocked some of the gunk loose and clogged it up....
  7. Anyone hitting up Jeep Beech this year? Roommate from Florida says he doesn't remember ever seen any MJs there so we planned a road trip. anyone else coming?
  8. I recently picked up (ok more made) a lumber rack for my truck.....would that work? Sectioned a lumber rack that was 8' (we have no idea what or where it came from) from a full size. little more work than i would have liked but it works
  9. Ok Never soaked a clutch down like that so can't relate....but if it was soaked in oil I would think you would be able to smell it burning off the clutch... :dunno: Try what a said above...pull the line and cycle the clutch through a couple of reservoirs full of fluid.....see if it is pushing a strong stream at the out put  Problem is the exhaust is also right there and it was all over the exhaust which was burning as well.
  10. As in you push the clutch petal in and it went to the floor and you were unable to shift unless you speed shifted it. Did a test of 20 attempts each 5 mins apart. Only failed to engage 6 out of 20 attempts. Also I am doubting that the disc is covered in oil. Seems to me that if it was soaked it would be slipping and after more than a few Squeal-outs later is doesnt feel like its slipping.
  11. Rear main on the engine. It blew about 7 Qts of oil over 500 miles.
  12. I have a weird issue that just started. The clutch is being picky. Sometimes it engaged other times it doesn't almost as if its tossing a coin if its going to engage or not. It in an internal slave AX-15 with a new slave and new disc. We've bleed it several times and still hit or miss. Probably should mention that the rear main started leaking on a cross country trek and I would not be shocked if some oil worked its way in there. Thoughts? Further tests to help determine causes?
  13. Would 88,000 work?? just hook it up to a drill and add however main miles you want
  14. I made one out of a 20mm or 25mm Explosive Rounds (now wether that is artillery, mortar, or grenade launcher i have no clue) the .50 cal is just too small. Most of the writing has faded from sitting out in the ammo can junk pile for years. Ended up taking 4" in the front and about 4.5-5" in the back and matching the slopes. Works perfectly
  15. Use a little jobsite box secured with 4 RIV nuts. Nobodies getting into that box easily.
  16. Alright here are the pictures. Sadly no pictures available of the mossy oak breakup fabric we put over it. roll on contact cement. not the spray, i already made that mistake. Go to your local Home Depot and pick up a jar of it and a small roller and some brushes
  17. XJ seats mounted on the bench rails. Cut down a 25mm explosive round ammo box to the right height and mounted it
  18. What I did was get some of that foil bubble wrap stuff and contact cement it to the roof of the truck and the back panel. Once it dried I contact cemented fabric over the top so the glare didn't drive me crazy. Probably works better than the actual headliner.
  19. whats with all these XJ consoles? a big ammo can work much better....actually able to store stuff in it
  20. I have the same issue but my truck came with the tow package and I do use it for towing. is this a "metric ton"? I just read the about using the take-offers from a JK and that sounds like the way to go.... just want to make sure that the extra weight won't be an issue....
  21. x2 that little tool will save you some time and aggravation If you don't have one handly a cheap snow scraper with a "V" cut in it works very well.... what can i say...truck came with an ice scraper in so cal, never thought id use it
  22. Anybody hears of one in the Southwestern states (mainly San Diego to Vegas to Phoenix) let me know. The curse of having a long bed....
  23. 2 Under the dash 2 In the doors 2 in the back behind the seat I'll crawl under and measure for you when I get done with midterms mine are way past shot too. just havent had time or money
  24. My AX-15 and 231 came from a Wrangler. The transfer case is clocked upward and hit the floor boards. It's a simple as pulling them apart clocking it down, marking the bolts and redrilling the tranny the angle you want it to sit. Took me 45 mins. Mounting it with the cross member was a bigger pain than the clocking step.
  25. As the "kid" of the neighbor I get a wide variety of Jeep stuff (also the only one with a full size dumpster ). I was recently given a full set of shocks and springs off either a '98ish Rubicon Unlimited or Wrangler don't know. They are all coils. Anyway when I measured them compared to my MJ coils they seemed about an 1" or 2" taller. I was planning on using shackles and spacers to get a 1-1/2" or 2" lift anyway. Do you think that extra length is just cuz mine are pushing 200K miles and the others are barely 30K or are the other ones just longer? If they are in fact longer can I use them without the spacers and use shackles in the back?
