  1. The original SUV
  2. Exactly what I have in mind for this one. One of the reasons I jumped on it without a title. Not be tempted to restore it. Not working to well because I am seriously thinking about it. Aw nuts. I hate changing my mind and making decisions. At the moment trying to make up my mind which MJ to use. Also wondering how it would look if I was just swap the front end including the doors and quit. Frankly I think it would look 'unfinished'. Have to run the wood panel all the way to the back and around the tailgate to look right. I need somebody good at PhotoShop to knock out a couple pics, Inlay stopping at door. Inlay going all the way back and short and long bed. "In order to reach old age, You must first live for a very long time. Jim Oshel" The vinyl is readily available , the real challenge is to find or fab the moldings . I thought plastic panel molding might work or real wood water bent is also a possibility . There was a time when woodgrain door molding was common at auto accessory stores ( You and me are old enough to remember ) but I guess you could still use or wrap the chrome or black molding as a solution . The tricky areas are the cab corners and tail-light termination point . Surely someone has done this already but my searches have been in vain so far . :shake:
  3. He caught it , see last photo caption :clapping:
  4. :wrench: If it wasn't for "CC" most of us would probably be one of those 1/2 arse PO's
  5. Really like the Waggy look  , often thought of doing up the MJ in that style complete with faux wood  That would make it a "Comanchero"
  6. :agree: I liked your version better Jim
  7. :clapping: Amen
  8. :clapping:
  9. I believe the gauge cluster needs to be year / series specific ( 88-90 ) ? Did /can you source cluster from the doner ? I see from your other posts that you adapted the XJ harness to the MJ , not sure if this may have impacted the dash circuits in question . :shake:
  10. Did you swap the computer and wiring harness from the "90 ? Which year of gauge panel do you have ( 86 or 90 ) ? The tach & volts don't have senders as such . More info = more feed-back
  11. That's news to me. Err, yeah, that's kind of a huge generalization. Although my wife, who is a Filipina, has always avoided the number 4 like the plague. Says it's bad luck. Of course she also says that having black ants in the house is good luck. :hmm: Everyone in the world must have good luck in that respect then.............. Our So called " Greater Vancouver " area has a very large Asian population , especially in Richmond . Lots of hi-rise housing , none of which have 4th ,14th or 24th floors and no units have a "4" on any floor . On the other hand "8" is considered lucky and units on floors with an eight are usually the first ones sold . Tis what it tis , no offense intended . ......Gord
  12. I used to use an 8in belt knife :rotfl2: but anyway, about the fix. . . I will let you know now this project was NOT easy. I will try to do my best to take pictures and explain clearly, it won't be easy. also the way i did things might not be the best, so if you discover a better way i would love to hear about it. ;) I'm looking forward to your write-up  Thanks , Gord
  13. buy the lotto :agree: Just a side note , " 4 " is a unlucky number to Asians , :hmm:
  14. Please do , I'm currently jamming a old steering wheel lock between the e-brake pedal and the seat bracket :headpop: or using a wheel chock with a retrieval line attached .
  15. Just think of all the fun you will have teaching the wife how to do the wrenching on the MJ ( we see a number of ladies in the CC that are good welders ) :clapping: More seriously , I hope all goes well with your surgery and a timely recovery .
  16. :Canadaflag: Welcome , with your Jeep experience you may be helping us . The gang here will help / share with you as your project progresses

  19. Would you like to re-phrase / re-think the question :huh???:
  20. Go to ......MJ TECH , search " ignition key lock replacement " , or check " Stumpy " posts on same
  21. :wrench: If it's working properly , it increases pressure to the rear brakes when your truck is loaded with extra weight . Unloaded , it prevents rear brake lock-up by reducing pressure . There are threads you can search , to by-pass the valve if it's not working or if you do a suspension lift .
  22. I think he's asking about the load /level brake proportioning actuator rod
  23. GoJeeps projects , always leave me with a feeling of "Awe & Envy " as well as great entertainment :clapping: Cheers !
