I hear you. Its our right to own a gun. The government should not have the right to monitor every single gun sold and to whom. It's not illegal or unethical in my opinion to buy or trade for a gun from an Individual. However usually when you buy a new gun (maybe its just pistols) there is an envelope with a fired cartridge. The manufacturers keep these fired rounds on record, so way if a crime is committed and the bullet is recovered, then law enforcement can trace that bullet back to the weapon and hopefully find the original owner and track down subsequent owners. I don't agree with the govt tracking who owns a gun but I agree with this to assist law enforcement. So, if I ever decide to rob a bank, then I simply won't use one of my newly purchased guns. As if I'd do such a thing... :brows: :D

In 59' they added a massive weight under the back bumper to counter the tendency to tip forward if you got on the brakes hard. I think the plow would be fun on an FC!

I have an old solenoid operated Borg Warner OD and D18 T case, name your price I'll sell it to you. The problem with those is they are terribly complicated and essentially integral with the the TC. So you must use the D18 which requires offset axles with the diffs on the right side. To have an OD on the back of the Tcase is a nifty idea but if its on the back and not inbetween the transmission and the TC then you could only use it in 2WD. This is why the Warn/Saturn overdrive which mounted on the PTO opening of the D18 and ran off the tranny output quickly made the Borg Warner OD obsolete. I've spoken with Herm about these. He's got plenty of parts to keep them on the road but he recommends the Warn/Saturn overdrive. With the warn/Saturn overdrive on a D18 you can use it as a gear splitter in 2WD or 4WD. But then you've got 4 shifters comin through the floor. But it allows you to shift to 1st, then 1st - %25, 2nd, then 2nd -%25, and so on. Now the next problem. Due to the inverted "Texas" bolt pattern of the Tcase, your transmission selection is limited. Your looking at either a T84, T90, T14, T15. Unless you find the holy grail of bell housings to run a T18. Imagine that, a four speed with a gear splitting OD, that means you could have an 8 speed jeep. Oh but wait, none of those bellhousings will bolt to an AMC or modern jeep engine. So in less you're willing to run an L or F head 4cyl or a flathead 6 in your MJ, then you're stuck with modern stuff. I'm trying to think of a way to do it,,,a hot rodded flat head injected 6 cyl with 8 speeds and 4wd would be pretty awesome, even in a more modern jeep and even though it's a huge step backward in technology.

Sorry Jim, that really stinks.

I bought mine at a gun show after Obama's re-election. It's an Armalite. I got it partly, because it and the Beretta are what I carried in the Army. They're second nature to me and I can disassemble and reassemble and do functions checks with them in my sleep. The AR is more of an investment, they usually won't lose value thanks to the great fear of an impending gun ban, these guns are extremely overpriced right now. For example, the army buys it's Colts for about $400 each, but they're upwards of $1,500 on the civilian market. At the last gun show, the bottom dollar for an AR variant was around $850-900 and skyward from there. P.S. Glad you like it Backdraft!

IIRC there were less than 400 M6XX variants made, last number I read was only 35 or so of these survive. I just can't see why so many gearheads cream their pants over a chevelle or a corvette when hundred of thousands of those were made. M677s were the creme de la creme of FCs. I've seen two on ebay in the last two years and neither went for the ridiculous amounts that stupid mustangs and camaros go for, and there were millions of them made. I'd like to take an FC and crush one of those pretty painted girly muscle cars.

I Just... Um... Oh, Just Look And See...
Comanche County replied to neohic's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
Obviously built by someone not on CC. I hate to knock on someone's work, but that looks like crap. -
Dang it!!! I should have held out for the blue pan, and its $10 cheaper!!! :fs1: https://www.yoshiblue.com/?mid=2826806

Another irrational ride I want is a super hurricane 6 cyl powered CJ3A....but wait,,,,I could go on all night with my Jeep dreams/nightmares,,,I should just stop.

There's a J2000 Gladiator in a fella's yard about 500 meters from me, it's windows are covered in green pine tree sap, hasn't moved in a while...and I want it so bad...it would be my daily driver in a heart beat. Then there's this FC150 which if I had the money to buy would be my daily too...only because of its "CDI" factor. I'll have it one day, and I will not be talked out of it! :fs1:

Give these guys a call: http://southweststandardtransmission.com. Before I moved these guys were the first place I always went to. Back in my mustang days I thrashed a T10 and 3 or 4 T5s, finally got a world class T5 from them and it lasted. Last time I was there we were talking AX15s, he's built a lot of them for Jeepers. He cryogenic ally treats the gears and makes em bullet proof. He has stacks of spares, I bet he's got one.

Ooh, I like that! It saves the bacon grease for you, yummy!

Got the T-shirt and proud to wear it.

Well, 300 one handed pushups is out of the question, but 300 twelve ounce arm curls certainly is not!

And I bought one of those orgreenic frying pans that advertise that you don't need any oil to fry an egg or anything else. Well, please allow me to attest that that commercial was full of horse puckey and pig urine. Every egg I tried today stuck like silly putty in a kids hair. Sausage went well, but cheese pulling off freely as was depicted in the commercial ended up being harder to scrap off than a crock full of pigeon droppings on a Central Park statue. One use and the thing is as sticky as all the rest of of my scratched up pots..... I'm going back to cast iron....and I apologize for getting all domestic on you all, the most manly of manliest Jeep men.

I hate those.... They're usually from a foriegn source.

Haha, I'm about to rattle can mine. Just can't take the flaking clear coat any longer.

They're good to have, but mine are kinda old. If you get some, check the manufacture date cause they'll only stay bright for a few years, then they start to dim. The half life of Tritium is around 10 years or so. I actually need knew ones. In a defense situation you may not have time to use the sights but the tritium at least assists in quickly aligning the front sight post on center mass in low light conditions. If you get some I'd recommend Trijicon but I'm sure there's some other manufactures with good products. The tritium hands and numbers on my Marathon watch are getting dim too, its 5 years old. But when it new it was bright enough to illuminate and read a book at night .

My primary carry pistol is the 92FS, Its got a few mods to it. Grips, hammer spring, trigger and buffer springs, padded buffer rod, adj trigger, hammer, and tritium sights. I also really like my Kel-Tec 380. Arma-lite AR-15 Top to bottom, my first gun a Mossberg 500, I saved up my paper route money when I was 11 and dad bought it for me. The same AR, a Marlin model 795 which is going to be my son's Christmas present, then the kid's assorted pellet guns.

My neighbor right down the street is the original owner of this 89' Pioneer. Its an auto 2wd, but really clean underneath and the engine has been rebuilt. He got in a fender bender and the reward was a new front RT fender. I just repaired the gas tank for him.....hopefully I can buy it from him one day when/if I ever have some extra cash. -
I think you're looking at upwards of 20-30K with that list.

Project "don't Tread On Me"

Start combing the yards for XJ skid plates. They're getting hard to find. An MJ gas tank skid can only be found on an MJ. But you could spend more in gas and time and effort looking for skid plates when it my be cost effective to have a local shop weld you up some 16 gauge custom plates. -
Nice truck sir! I've got a stack of radios, when I see one in a yard I yank it.
