I have an 87 2.5 and it is aTBI Before you start down the path of changing sensors lets just use the KISS method (Keep it simple stupid) 1) Take a plug out.....put the wire on and set it against the block so it grounds...have a buddy tun it over(don't be holding the plug).....is there spark.... you should be able to see it.....if yes replace the plug go to 2...if no post again 2) if you have spark and it still will not fire....take the intake hose off the TBI get a small bottle (Spray bottle works best) and toss some fuel down the TBI (just like a carb) keep your face away from it and try it again....if it still will not.....post again....

102 posts and still do not know the answer to the ratio question......... I live in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada (goggle it).....I could have driven down to Virginia Beach......rebuilt your diff new to spec....(told you the ratio) ....and driven home in less time . :MJ 1: .

Help Bleeding Brakes With No Bleeder Valves
yxmj replied to TCAdkins's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Can't "Bleed" with out the bleeder. . You will have to get new set of valves and replace the old ones. I have busted them off and used an "Easy out" in the past...even drilled and taped a couple...Try the vice grip method....if you have new ones sitting there sometimes it is easier to be rough on the old ones....DO NOT use a torch to heat them (saw that once). If it is the rear....around here a whole new cylinder (with valve) is only $20.....front obviosly would be more. Good luck  -
No, they are not. Not even almost close. See the post above by myself and Skidoo..... The OP never asked for stock flares....he never says he is against modifying the wheel wheel opening....he asks for "some nice units" The units we supplied links to ARE made for both the Comanche and the 2 door Cherokee...and it would be up to his taste to judge if they are "some nice units"

Possible Transfer Case Problem?
yxmj replied to mdwatson's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Fast guess sorry to say chain is probably stretched not hard to fix if you can turn a wrench next 2 signs...thumping when you shift into 4x4.....hole in the side of the case........ -
The fronts...yes. The rear XJ flares on a 2 door are the same as 4 door flares. So XJ specific. The OP would be better off fixing the brackets, and repainting the flares IMHO Well I have both an MJ and a 2 door XJ I don't have a humble opinion....but these guys do... http://www.napierprecisionproducts.com/V2-Jeep-Comanche-MJ-Cherokee-XJ-2-Door-Fender-Flares-Black-V2-B-2DR.htm http://www.bushwacker.com/instructions/10912%20JEEP%202D,COMANCHE.pdf http://www.quadratec.com/products/72506_801_07.htm http://www.quadratec.com/products/72506_801_07.htm

This might be a redundant statement but in your searches look at flares for 2 door Cherokee's....they should be close

Here is a step by step with pictures....and yes to all the keyboard warriors I know it is not a Comanche.....it is a wrangler.....but it is a Dana 35 and the procedure is the same. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f5/changing-differential-fluid-with-pics-192304.html In this one the fellow uses a gasket.....on all mine I use RV silicon that you can buy at the same place you but the diff fluid.....and as Eagle says above.....you can't go wrong putting in a heavier fluid......I run heavy all the time and I am pretty sure my fluid has to work in a little colder conditions up here than were you are Here is a clip on how to put the RV silicon on

You do realize that all the time you have spent talking about and"spekuull'ating" bout your diff ratio ..... you could have pulled the cover off of 17 diffs......redone the bearings.....pinion bearings and seals......put in new axles.....wheel cylinders.....brakes...... but you are no further ahead because you can't get past those 10 little diff cover bolts.......your moma must be so proud

I have been able to post pictures in threads but every time I try to put a pic of my truck as an avatar it says it is to big......any wise words

86 4.0L Swap Radiator Question
yxmj replied to k3y3l3e3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Read the thread title. He's swapping this new engine into an '86. Yes is see now......Have you looked into a rad from a YJ....I do not Know what your requirements are.... but on my 87 2.5 if i had not gotten the new 2000 rad, I had already looked under the hood of my yJ and that rad looked like it would be an easy replacement.....on the YJ they use the same rad for both the 2.5 and the 4L (just different shroud) -
86 4.0L Swap Radiator Question
yxmj replied to k3y3l3e3's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I must be lucky or missing somthing here I have an 87 MJ....2.5 and put in a 2000 XJ 4l rad...no welding or sheet metal work required....just had to fab up (did not have stock....and did not take the time to look) 2 square rubber mounts. had to fab a top rad hose as well ......but works A#1 -
guess i gotta do that test again, would speed of turnin the feel contribute to the speed the drive shaft moves? Redwolf Ok I will play.....yes the speed of the tires would "contribute" to the speed the drive shaft turns.....as they are linked by your diff. if you will not believe anything posted here.....believe your own eyes....take off the diff cover and find the number stamped on the big gear inside......done deal no more guessing as the answer will truly be written in steel..... . :MJ 1: .

This kid is not looking for help (or he would post pics to help himself) This is what is known on the inter-web as a troll post He is just playing

Height Leveling Valve - Whats It Do?
yxmj replied to 1964dart's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It is a brake bias valve it adjusts the brakes when you have a load in the box. It can be bypassed ( i kept mine working) there is a thread on the site on how to do it Here is one thread- http://comancheclub.com/topic/4016-xj-proportioning-valve/ -
Be sure and do some maintenance at the same time. Remove your diff cover.....there will be numbers on the carrier....or count the teeth....divide the larger number by the smaller. That is your ratio put the cover back on and add new lube. Now you have your answer
