Part stores are listing 1 3/4" pads and 2.5" pads for the rear. Anybody know what would be on a D35 1989 Comanche?

Need help with cluster swap
Windowsrookie replied to Timmaay's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It just clips onto the steering column, follow the line down and pull the clip off. -
They are rare here too. I've seen two this year, one was rusted out sitting at a dealer. The other was a perfect condition (but missing tailgate) Red 1991 4x4 with a D44 rear end. He was traveling the other way down the road and I whipped around and started following him (I'm crazy, I know). He ended up stopping a few blocks down and I started talking to him. Great guy, seemed to know Jeeps. He said he'd been looking for a while and drove to another state to buy this one. I told him about Comanche Club but I haven't heard from him since.

Problem adjusting/removing tie rod (pic)
Windowsrookie replied to MrSimon's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
This is a better Tie Rod, and much stronger than one you'll get from a parts store, probably cheaper too. The part stores are probably calling the drag link a tie rod. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant ... e=IR-SHDTR -

Because if you hit the threads with a hammer, you won't be able to put the nut back on. Just give it a few good hits like this: -

loosely thread the nut back onto the tie rod end (just so it doesn't fall to the floor, and to protect the threads). Now whack the knuckle right on the end where the TRE attaches. After a few hits the TRE should fall right out. -
1996 ZJ @ 16 years old 2000 WJ @ 17 years old 1989 MJ @ 18 years old I still own the WJ and the MJ, we'll see what happens when I turn 19.

The faceplate isn't even that big of a deal. I have the factory stereo and just put it back in for now. But the glass that I will be finding for the next ten years, and my dash bezel that they damaged. I had a woodgrain bezel from a limited WJ in there, and they are not easy to find. They destroyed it in the process of removing my faceplate... Plus I'm 99% sure who did it, but can't do $#!& because I don't have proof. I also no longer feel safe parking it in my own driveway.

The little @#$%ers are lucky I was sleeping.

No, that isn't actually a hole. It's just an indent to help hold that MAP sensor vacuum line.

I've got the bench in my Comanche and don't mind it. Some of you guys seem to hate it with a passion, but I actually like having the extra space with my bench and column shifter. Someday, if the right Comanche comes by with the right price, I may convert to the buckets with center console just for the extra storage space and cup holders, but otherwise I'm fine with the bench. Do the bench seats get uncomfortable with age? My bench only has 124,000 miles, maybe that's why it's still fairly comfortable? I'm just wondering why you guys hate the bench so much.

What is this wire for?
Windowsrookie replied to glundblad's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That is for a cargo light. That wire leads up to the left side of the gauge cluster area, there are wires there for cargo and fog lights. -

I've also wondered what relay does what. The relay cover does not have anything printed under it, and I also don't have an owners manual.

What is EGR and do I need it?
Windowsrookie replied to 1990 Pioneer 4x4's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I have an '01 engine in my MJ and it most certainly has the EGR. Then it's not an '01 engine. No 4.0L used after 1990 had an EGR valve. -
Took a picture of the family. :)

Time out. The Mopar hinge repair kits (if they are what I think you are referring to) are for when the body side of the hinge pulls away from the door post. Where is the movement in yours? You may not need a repair kit, you may just need a new hinge pin. The hinge is pulling away, there is a 1/8" gap on the front of the hinge that you can see when looking at it through the opening. And the hinge pin has play in it. Both of these I'm sure are caused by my lack of Door Check.
-
So has anyone used the Mopar hinge kit on a 92 or older?
-
For the Mopar kit? TSB # 23-017-02 Part # 05083060AA
-
So the pins are in there then? I can push the door up and down about a 1/4" with it open, and it sags. The passenger side door hinges have pins with caps and there is no hole to fit wire through like the driver's side.
-
I have two questions. One, has anybody used the door hinge repair kit from Mopar? It says for 1993-1997 models only.... And question two, should there be a pin in the holes on the door hinges? I can slip a wire right through the holes.

Clean the IAC and throttle body. -
My electric fan isn't kicking on and I suspect the relay, will any 30 Amp relay work? Or does the stock fan suck down more than 30 amps?
-
Did you just plug off the vacuum lines?
