  1. try these: http://www.otherpower.com/ http://www.thebackshed.com/Windmill/default.asp
  2. Not sure, think you might be right.Another reason it could be on a switch is that the relay could have gone bad and the PO didn.t know how to fix it.
  3. Since I have more time than money,Myself,I would do the whole HO swap. You got the donor vehicle, put it next to the MJ,gut the MJ,swap over all from the XJ. Bing Bang Boom,Done! Just had to say that,As I know the swap is very involved. Very doable as others on CC have done this swap, use the search.
  4. the 94 should have a speedo sending unit in the usual location on the tranny,it even has a gear on the end of it to drive the electronic pickup. Then you have a "cable",actually wires, that plug into the sending unit on the trans. You should be fine with the D35 as long as it hasn't been abused IE: burnouts, extreme towing, etc. I think what Eagle is saying,is that you could possibly swap in a "stand alone" engine harness into the MJ,instead of the stuff from the XJ,allowing you to use the XJ HO motor without all the HO body stuff.
  5. You'll need to swap the gauge cluster from the XJ into the MJ. One is Renix the other is HO. Rearend shouldn't need to be swapped.Should be able to swap F/axle. No speedo cable anymore, just needs electronic sending unit since your swapping to HO cluster and wiring. Transmission,AX-15 2wd.(why not convert to 4x4 while your at it,your gonna be half way there) Long as you get all the same components-flywheel,clutch,slave,MC from a HO,you'll be fine. When I did my conversion I got a flywheel from a HO,It looked different from the Renix one so I didn't use it. Don't forget to get the clutch and brake pedals from the donor vehicle also. You won't need to be readjusting a potentiometer cause you won't have one any more,it'll be all electronic. FWIW just be aware that to do this swap you'll have to (mark my words) swap over EVERYTHING from the XJ over to the MJ.
  6. Myron,I think your looking too close to the firewall, the resistor is supposed to mount closer to the to the L/front corner of the engine compartment. See the hood pop-up spring in Pete's pic?
  7. What you mean? Like does it have problems? I'm going to try and have a look at it on Fri if I have time. Far as buying something like that,I don't think so......... It would be interesting to know if they have any plans on selling conversion parts or info though.

  9. http://montana.craigslist.org/cto/1311941628.html http://www.prindlemfg.com/project_detai ... rojectID=2 I think I need to go talk to these guys since they are in my neck of the woods.
  10. :agree:
  11. Who cares about him spinning an opinion? I wasn't aware that the Govt was able to do this, and I thought the clip was informative. I'm not surprised about the abilities of the Fed. Govt. Anybody who accesses that site would have to be  Myself, I'm totally against this CARS Prog. Talk about a waste, ruining perfectly drivable vehicles. Granted there are some vehicles that should be recycled, but there are a lot of them that have years of life and use left in them. I think these vehicles should be "graded" and recycled (some do need to be destroyed) to needy organizations or people. I bet there are thousands of youth or church organizations out there who could use a pickup or SUV. Leave the donating to the carlot who sold the "new" car to chose who to donate the "recycled" vehicle to. If the Govt was to do this you know where that would go $$$$$$$$$$$$ wasted even further. Anyways, that chick Kimberly, WAS SMOKIN HOT! I think I'll watch it agin
  12. Got my $25 dollar topper installed. Would have took a better side pic of it but "Somebody" (My friend who owns the ranch and some of the other Jeeps sitting around ,9 including mine) put another donor next to it. Wonder why he did that? Seem that the white XJ you can barely see to the left of my truck has a good dash, knee panel and all the other interior parts I need for this truck. Made the "deal" parts are mine.Updates in the future. Pulled the bench, removed the brackets, will be putting buckets back in. Ugly carpet My friend is going to take the steamcleaner to it. Floor pics As you can see, the DS is going to need some attention. The damage is mostly surface rust, but does have one small rust pinhole. Chances are,I'll end up putting a lot of work into this area, because I won't like it if it's not right. After further investigation,I realized that the wire in this pic is not to hold the dipstick on like I thought, but to hold the crankcase vent into the valve cover. I'll address thes later when I start the engine work, tune up,etc.
  13. I used my 2wd DS,had it shortened (machine shop took about 12" +/- off, cost $90),had to put new front yoke on it cause I went from BA-10 output to 231 output. Different spline counts. So yes, with a little effort it will work. Bolt on,no.
  14. Holy Cow! My hat's off to you.....Rust,I never imagined it to do such damage. Kudos to you for undertaking this project. It will be good to see one MJ put back together from all your hard work. Keep it up,your doing good!
  15. :thumbsup:thanks boilermaker, FWIW my daughter just showed me what I was doing wrong when I tried to "cut and paste" the view topic.......... but thanks again, learnin sumthin new every day.
  16. Red 1989 MJ, could you repost or edit in the correct format so I can see your "links"
  17. Who cares....... We only got 1242 days left anyway. 12/21/2012? Just had to throw that in. Really,If a person doesn't vote then they don't have a voice. I live my life every day by trying to "do the right thing"-"make good honorable choices" Teach my daughter to do the same. Lots of nickles and dimes add up to a dollar real fast. If we all did our part and helped out in some way, we would all see a difference.
  18. Well if you find it, please post it. As it is now, that is the info I'm going to be using to do the same thing. If you do find, it I'd like to see it, as I would like to learn as much about it as I can before I do it to my truck.
  19. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4259
  20. Those look just like how my Montana floorboards on Mary Jane were. Applied rust converter Then spray-on bedliner
  21. Quote: "looks like a big wad of chewing gum". You mean the tiger decal? Done pealed it off already, can't even tell it was there. Quote: "I would never find anything like that in Indiana". You mean the tiger decal,or a big wad of chewing gum left stuck on a door.... :brows: :laughin: :laughin: :laughin:
  22. Holy Cow,JeepcoMJ, that's only an average of 7.36 posts per day! :clapping:
  23. No D44 or front skid. It does have gastank and TC skids, these are coming off and going onto Mary Jane.
  24. I'm doing head gaskets on a 04 stratus, shop estimates were 1400 to 1500. I'm charging 600 plus he has to buy all parts and fluids. I also made a stipulation that there are no guarantees because he wants to use some old parts and does not want the heads R&Rd by the machine shop. He's happy cause the repair is costing him 600+ parts,I'm happy because I'm making 600. I'm also happy because I'm able to do the work at my leisure. he has other vehicles to drive. BTW my time estimate in this is 3 full days = 200 a day, fair enough.Everybody's happy.
  25. No idea what the tiger is all about, kid said one of his friends just stuck it on there (It's a vinyl decal).
