Jeez for $10k you'd expect at least a $3K dollar paint job. Maybe even have the few discrepancies fixed: Comanche Mentionables: * The Power Trans button does not light up * Inside interior lights in back of cab not working * Right side of window rolls only 80% down. (It rolls back up with no problems) * Interior clock is not lit and we cannot change time displayed * External rear cab light does not work * A small piece of molding at the rear of truck on passenger side is beginning to lift and can easily be adhered. * As expected there is evidence of normal wear and tear to the Comanche body but nothing that would take away from its hearty look. This is a great truck as is. Very little effort needed to make it picture perfect. I guess it's OK when you buy a $10k dollar truck to have some "normal wear and tear" on it. :rotf:

:wall: I got a complete HO. I really like the engine, under hood lay out. Think the Renix lay out is a crappy design. (critical wiring across front bulkhead). Somehow I'm going to have to make the GM column work, I cringe at the thought of having a beautiful truck with that hideous Chrysler air bag. I do have to admit that I have a thorough understanding of the Renix engine controls. What to do, what to do......... :wall: :wall: :wall: Oh yeah, what about making 4dr buckets tilt forward?

Did you get the upper and lower control arms? If so, want to make a deal for them?

95' (IMHO) would be a much better donor. You still have the late model seats and airbag column issue, but you don't have all the wacky 'one year only' parts like a 96' does. There are some decent parts on a 96, I just wouldn't want one for an HO drivetrain swap. 91-95 donor = perfect for an HO swap. I don't think I'll have seat issues, I'm keeping the stock interior seats etc that I currently have. But now you bring up another point, quote: "airbag column issue"? I think the 95 column, airbag and steering wheel is a hideous piece of "safety equipment" that I really don't want on my truck. Besides, It never came with one anyway. Can I keep my stock column? Will it cause computer issues? If it just throws a "airbag" light could I just unplug it? If I keep my stock 89 column will I have problems wiring it ? Lastly if I use the 95 column, does that mean I'll have single key use for the doors, ignition, glove compartment? That might be a deciding point to keep the 95 column. Had to ask this question because my 95 XJ is 20+ miles away, can't just go outside and look.

Yeah why wouldn't reverse work. Nearest I've heard is it could be caused by a bent fork caused by "jamming" into reverse. My friend has an AX, same problem, no reverse. Hopefully in the next week or so were going to put it on the bench see if we can take it apart and fix it. We got the tools, manual and a shop. We shall see. As stated the bell housing and front retainer is worth the $75, heck the parts to make an external conversion would cost more than that. If you don't want to fix the tranny, offer $50, make $50. Win Win.

Now I get it...... :rotfl2:

You mean before we tip over? :rotf: Honestly, a couple of trails I frequent sure have some pucker factor to them. Be kind of neat to see the angle were running at.

Check this out, just won it on fleabay for about $10 bucks delivered. Lighted and all. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... MEWNX%3AIT It's even got an MJ on it! Probably not really, but close enough.

Sometimes it's easier for me to buy local, either because of time or because by the time shipping is added it's just better to buy down the street.

Legs up, knees bent

Yup! And my friend thinks his MJ is gonna be worth 15K after he paints it. Me, don't bling.

I was going to order from Husky Spring until shipping got figured in. Let my fingers do the walking and bought locally, much cheaper. Actually the springs I bought were bent to my spec. for 37$. -
Nooooooo, don't buy those! They are not "hubcentric". The force of the load rides on the wheel studs, and the wheel studs only.... Bad. These are what I use: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HUBCENTR ... ccessories See the difference? the load is on the hub, not on the studs. Check their store, they have different widths. I bought a set for my 8.8 with stock Jeep wheels

No AMC logo. "JEEP" would be OK, on one sleeve. Screen name on other side OK. Comanche Club front or back OK. In whatever flavor you decide. MJ Comanche front or back, maybe years produced. Or for the sake of simplicity, MJ, left front breast pocket area (although no pocket). Comanche Club (any flavor) large, on the back. 2 prints, quick and easy. Sign me up for 2.

If they are not "hub centric" STAY AWAY.

I thought it was a well choreographed routine, I liked the timed commands. Shows what teamwork and training can accomplish (like keeping our guys alive when properly trained.)
