  1. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: I had to get my daughter to tell me what that pic was from... She told me that every time you watch that movie, it lowers your IQ. :rotfl2: Tried to watch it once....... Guess I just don't get the humor
  2. The ones out of an XJ are a direct fit. Just cut and splice with whatever method you prefer.
  3. Got any pics? I'm thinking what you are talking about is the EGR tube. Will it affect anything, yes and no. Yes, it will take longer to warm up. No, it will not hurt anything if it isn't leaking exhaust or vacuum.
  4. I'm running for student body president where I go to college. I think I have a chance at winning, have a few good things going for me. Age, life experience, Veteran, single parent, Sophomore, 4.0 GPA, 99.9 % attendance, intern in the science lab, Honor scholarship recipient. "Student body Prez," would be a nice feather in my cap. (Or on my resume) "Jump high or go home"
  5. Although you would have to remove the carpet. Like when you are "checking the floor pans before it is too late" Try the baby powder trick, sprinkle some around, wet the outside of the truck with a hose. Then look inside for trails through the powder. Myself, I'd definitely search hard and find the leak, before I paid someone to fix something I'm not sure of. Let us know what you find, what your fix was/is.
  6. The front turn signal sockets are crap on our MJs. I'd start there. On both my MJs I replaced them with sockets from XJs, solved a lot of problems.
  7. That is why I was planning on modifying/shortening an XJ one to fit. Anyone done this before?
  8. Aren't the pistons marked for overbore? Other than that, I think you have to mike the cylinder bore. mike=cylinder bore gauge.

  10. Are you talking about above to windshield or the door? And yes if above the windshield, a XJ one will work fine. Above the door, is another matter.
  11. :rotf: :rotf: :rotf: No seriously, just kidding. Every one I seen was either spoken for or damaged. I saved the ones off of the XJ donor, I'm gonna try shorten them make them work.
  12. PM sent

  14. What axle is currently in the truck? The bolt on SOA kit only works with the axle that came out of the MJ. Will not work to bolt up D44 out of an XJ. Not sure if this was your plan, they have different spring perch widths XJ and MJ. For the cost of their "kit" or less you could relocate spring perches etc for a D44 or 8.25 or my favorite 8.8. And welcome to CC!
  15. More work than it's worth. Sell the bunk bed, search for used roll bar. Even one that might need some fabrication out of a non MJ. Me, I wouldn't put cheesy like that on my truck. I'm proud of my MJs, I wouldn't do something like that to them. Wise old men always say: Do it right, or don't do it at all.
  16. Put air or vacuum to it see what happens. Be careful with air pressure, you don't want to blow something up.
  17. You didn't say anything about the front axle. My guess is that you did the SOA on the rears.....did you lift the front also? If not then you have a castor issue causing your problem. (Front wheels tilted too far forward) The fix, lift the front or put more shims in the LCAs to get your 7* neg castor. (knuckles tilted back 7*)
  18. When I did both my conversions, the threaded holes were already there. I just cleaned them out with a tap and they were good to go.
  19. Yup, before they crush them.
  20. Wow! What a topic. Nearly five years ago I rolled a 99 Wrangler down an embankment, must have went over six or seven times. Yup I was drunk. Did I stop drinking? Hell no! I was like you, thought about it, tried to stay sober for a while.......Then on my birthday, I went barhopping for my free birthday shots. Got a felony DUI. Don't know how many of you know that I am a single parent. The hardest thing that Iv'e ever had to do is tell my daughter that I messed up (she was eight at that time). I had to tell her that I was going to have to go away for a while (jail). Then I had to tell her that It is quite possible that her and I wouldn't be living with each other ever again...... That the home that I put together for us would probably be no more. I had to resign my job, made $82k the last full year that I worked there. My employer wouldn't hold my job for me for when I got back. Then I spent a month in county jails, another month in a 23hr a day lock-down cell at Montana State Prison. Anybody who doesn't mind the pee smell in a bar, this shouldn't bother them..... Then I got to spend the next six months in a state sponsored treatment program, if I didn't want to stay in the program, checking out was always an option. Check out straight to MSP. I cried the first time I seen my daughter from behind glass, couldn't hold her, hug her, show her that I loved her..... I met a lot of decent people in treatment, people who just like me "only thought about drinking or not drinking". A lot of people who's lives were ruined. A lot of people who thought it can't or won't happen to them.(cause a fatality) I think the people who affected me the most, were the ones who through their drinking, had caused a fatality. They thought It wouldn't happen to them. Tell that to a dead persons mother, wife or children. Imagine if your wife or your child was killed due to alcohol. I hated that program, The clinical supervisor said over and over "Just don't drink!" "no matter what, no matter what, no matter what!" If not having to go back to a jailcell that smells like pee (especially MSP), means not drinking. Then I had enough! March will be five full years without a drink. Imagine me working in the C store , the only one in town. Seeing my old co workers who still make mega becks. Talk about humble. I'm fortunate, I could have continued to drink as so many have. But I couldn't do that to my daughter again. I got up dusted myself off and kept trying. Today I'm in my second year of college, 4.0 GPA. I managed to keep my home and my Harley. But most importantly I managed to put things back together for my daughter and I. I think every day that I could lose it all very easily, with just one drink. Do I do the AA thing? No I'm Native American my sobriety lies in practicing my native spiritual ways. Did I cast a vote? Absolutely not! Ultimately were talking about a man, his family and their lives. What are we voting on? whether he lives or dies? Why not make it more interesting and vote on how soon his wife divorces him? Or how soon he gets a DUI or worse (fatality, his or someone close to him) Shame. Spirituality is the key that keeps me sober. I hope and pray that everybody who reads this doesn't ever have to walk the road that I did. It was filled with a lot of hurt, pain and anguish. I thank the Creator every day that I didn't kill someone. Especially my beautiful daughter. Not too often do I type with tears in my eyes..... If anybody would care to talk about this in a good way, PM me, well set up a phone call. PS: That is truly a beautiful baby Brenda. Peace
  21. Last thing, there is no this or that, that is supposed to have them. my Sportruck doesn't have any. I heard my chief is supposed to have them all but doesn't. Actually, all it has is is the T case one. As many have said before a "trim level" does not guarantee that any particular option will come with that trim level IE: skid plates.
  22. Quote: Burped the cooling system by raising the back end of the car up and removing the temp sensor in the head. Ran the truck until coolant poured out, replaced sensor, and nothing - still overheating. End quote. Did you try burping it without the truck running? I believe your supposed to do it when the engine is not running so the air bubbles can accumulate and be let out when you remove the sensor. Another thing I do is to drill a very small hole at the top of the T stat to let air bubles through. Actually some T stats came this way. And last of all, not trying to be insulting, but is it installed facing the right direction?
  23. That is a good thought, as I want to run an aftermarket wheel anyway.
