  1. Yes yes yes! You know when the first cold snap in the fall happens when every idiot that has one brings their car in because the tire light is on. You check all the tires, they are all the same low pressure, you top them off, usually to 34-36 PSI and you send them out the door, usually without getting paid anything. Stupid people! And I say 34-36 PSI because I had one once that was right at 32 PSI and the light wouldnt go off. Filled it to 36 PSI and all was well!
  2. With key on, engine off, slowly depress the gas pedal to the floor three times! There ya have it!
  3. Whats all that white stuff all over the place?????
  4. Had a brand new wrangler 4 door hardtop come in today for its second oil change. The owner complained that when we changed the oil last time, we did not reset his oil change indicator, and he couldnt figure out how to do it himself.... Well maybe if he took a moment to read the frickin owners manual he could have taken care of that. I'm not saying we shouldnt have reset it for him, but why not try to do it yourself????? YOU OWN A FRICKIN JEEP!!!. There is such a mishmash of vehicles out there that either do or don't have oil change reminders that it is very hard for us to know which ones are which most of the time. If I see it telling me, I will reset it, but if I don't, chances are I probably won't look for it. We try to put oil change stickers on all of the ones we do, so its not like he doesnt know when it needs its next service, but hell....take a little initiative and try to help yourself out some...geeezzzzz! The other bad thing is that this wrangler will most likeley never see a trail or go off road....at least not any time soon. Maybe its next owner will actually use the poor thing for what it was built for. We can only hope!
  5. Ill take a large meat lovers please! :rotfl2:
  6. I think hes talking about a cap, topper, camper, shell.... whatever you call them anymore.
  7. Makes my but hurt just thinking about it! :ack:
  8. Warming up the engine and oil allows all the floating particulate matter in the engine to be held in suspension and thus be removed from the engine when the oil is removed. It has nothing to do with its flow properties. When your oil sits, the particulate settles to the bottom of wherever the oil is...head, oil pan...etc. Warming it up and allowing it to flow gets that matter moving and makes it easier to remove. Hope this helps. If you are anal about your oil changes you would want to do this!
  9. I love VWs too, but Ive always wanted a Subie AWD. They are well known for their reliability. The WRX is a bad azz car too. Ive owned one type of VW or another since age 16, now 35, If I was buying new, I would go with the subie!
  10. For the cost of a temp sensor, I would do that too, just to be sure, in addition to the other things mentioned above. I have the same setup you have...2.5 4 speed, and my light has never come while driving at highway speeds. Being that it is just for an idiot light I would change the sensor too to be sure. Also... change to a 180 thermostat. That should help as well. I know the 190-195 is original equipment, but with wear on an engine as it ages the 190 may be too late to open for it to cool properly anymore. A 180 or even a 160 tstat is available, but a 180 should help you by allowing the coolant to get through the radiator to start cooling just a little sooner.
  11. If oil is coming out the dipstick tube, you have a problem with blowby not being able to exit out the top of the valve cover. Remove the hoses coming off the valve cover and check them for blockage all the way to the airbox. If you remove the hoses from the valve cover then try running the engine and see if the oil still wants to come out the dipstick tube. If it does, you will need to remove the valve cover and clean it to make sure the passages for the hoses are clean and free flowing. Assuming you clean everything out, and it still does it, you may have excessive blowby. These engines have a lot of blowby to begin with, but if its too much to go through the valve cover positive crankcase ventilation system, you may have other problems like busted piston rings, which at over 300,000 miles may be a good probability. If the rings are busted, it may be time to look for a new motor or to look for a 4.0 donor cherokee and do the swap. It will probably be as cheap or cheaper to find a 4.0 donor cherokee as it would to find a good used 2.5 by itself, and definitely cheaper than paying for a rebuilt longblock. It all depnds on your skill level, and how much you have to spend. And now for the hillbilly fix... remove your dipstick, attach a hose to the dipstick tube, and run it to an empty jug or just down to the ground so it doesnt spray on all your engine compartment goodies.!
  12. Now the the engine is junk in this one, its not going to be worth anything selling it. Find a good 3.4 and swap it in and head down the road! car-part.com will help you find what you need and then you can just swap everything over and be on the road again with a much better engine and more power to boot. I saw an Edelbrock intake with a 600cfm holley 4 barrel with aircleaner for like $250 on craigslist the other day. Thought that would be neat on a 3.4 conversion, but I'm not in the market for anything like that. Get the 3.4, swap everything over from the 2.8 and go!
  13. UH????? :fool: :fool: :fool:
  14. I think that there is something getting lost in translation!
  15. What the fudge is Ultimate??? My sport.... Uh I don't have one....sorry! Unless watching NHRA drag racing is a sport.... GO TEAM FORCE!!!!
  16. They are in Charlotte, NC now too... havent been there yet, but would like to try. I think Canton/Akron, OH has one too. Theyre popping up everywhere.
  17. Coleman Taylor IS the place I got that toyota trans. I remember the name now that I see it. They seem to have done a good job on the rebuild I got and My buddy is still driving that car. Its been about 4 years ago I replaced it. It was shipped by truck, and picked up the same way, you just have to let them know when you are ready to return the core. I would reccomend them, but I'm just one person. I wish you luck!
  18. You can get one of these for you motorcycle coffee fix, just take off the facemask! does Texas have a helmet law????
  19. With those tire sizes you should have no problem at all, even at stock height. Just make sure the backspacing on your new rims is similar to original. Backspacing is the distance from the back edge of the rim to the face of the mounting surface ( where the lug holes are ). Send in some pictures when you get them mounted on your truck!
  20. If you want to stay with the auto, search online for rebuit trans for your application. I did this on a friends toyota, it came with three year unlimited miles warranty, new torque converter, and all. Its been almost 4 years now and he has yet to have a problem. They even arranged the pickup of the core. If you are willing or able to do the swap yourself this may be a good option for you. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the company that we got it from, but it was a national chain. This may be the easiest swap option for you if you don't think you can set up the stuff for the manual trans. By reading your posts it does look like your are getting confused by all the options, but what you do should depend on your abilities and if you are able or willing to do some modifications. We are here to help! And the 2.8 is externally balanced no matter what trans you have. The 2.8 flywheel I have was mated to an AX5 and would keep your engine externally balanced. PM me if you need the flywheel and Ill work on getting a shipping price.
  21. Wheel diameter really doesnt matter, what matters is tire size (diameter or overall height of tire). 16 inch wheels would be no problem. If you give us some more details we could help you better. I'm planning on some 17 inch wheels for mine in the near future if the price is right on them, I already tried one to see if it would bolt up and if the hub was right and it is. Let us know what your plans are!
  22. On 2wd pull the driveshaft out and count the splines, on 4wd pull the transfer case off and count the splines. You don't need to pull the trans to do this.
  23. Where are you located? I have a flywheel for that exact application out of my 86 parts truck that came with the 2.8 and the AX5. I would let you have it if you pay for shipping.

    Home Audio

I have an RCA DVD home theatre system hooked up in my MATCO two bay top and bottom tool box at work. I have the subwoofer mounted to the side of my box, and the speakers double taped to the inside of the top cover. When I hook up my laptop to it, I can actually play movies or streaming audio through the system, or play DVD's or CD's, MP3 etc... and it will all lock inside the top of my box! I don't have a garage at home yet, but when I do, ypu can be sure Ill have a system in it!
  25. Where are you at in North Carolina?
