  1. If the cowl isn't bent at all you could strip the front end all down and bring it to a body shop and have the bent up sections pulled out on a frame machine. Bring it back home and reassemble with decent parts. Use car-part.com and search for parts using the same paint code. I did this for a guy with his plow jeep. I supplied the body parts and assembly and another guy hammered it out. It wasn't perfect but he got another 6 years of plowing 40 driveways with it.
  2. If you know your gear ratio and you know what fluid to put in it because of the limited slip, why do you need a tag? Lots of vehicles driving around without tags, don't worry about it.
  3. Same truck as the other ad. Trying to convince my brother to pick it up. Wish I had the cash.
  4. Pallet strapping would work better. No teef.
  5. I bought mine because, it was cheap, $500. It was XJ based. It was a 1992, which means rare but compatible with my mountain of 92-98 XJ parts. Easy to work on compared to just about anything else. Quick for a truck, will get quicker after I switch axles this summer. Hauls a good sized load for its size. It has a Dana 44 and has nearly metric ton equivalent springs. Handles very well for a truck. Just plain fun to drive and I don't see myself coming the other way hardly ever like with a GM or Ford.
  6. Did you have the window lift mocked up in it too?
  7. Intake and exhaust use the same gasket. Clean everything real good. I use spray tacky gasket to hold it in place on the head while I put the manifolds in place. I have always used felpro gaskets with no trouble. When tightening start at the center bolts/studs and work in a circular motion out. Put a new donut gasket at the collector flange. Check the manifold over real well for cracks, if you find them weld or have them welded up. No need for a new manifold.
  8. Hunter green to hunter orange. Ouch
  9. It would be cheaper just to buy one that already has disks unless you're running a 4 cylinder rear with 4.56's, I think they only came with drums.
  10. Diesel is an oil, it'll blend into the gas and you won't even know it's there.
  11. You can use 6 cylinder transfer cases from 87-89. Most had 21 input splines like the 4 cylinder.
  12. True,eh? Yes, very true. And punctuation ... such as periods and commas. I recently read that using periods in text messages is considered insulting. No wonder people can't communicate any more. [/sermon] Did you splice in the new tail harness, or did you plug it in at a factory junction connector? I must insult a lot of people with my texts because I try to use proper spelling, punctuation and grammar. It's to easy to get complacent and lose what little I have.
  13. Jeep rally compact car is a dumb idea. Just like subaru making a wrangler competitor. Stick to what you know. Do it better than anyone else.
  14. Use the drivetrain out of it and sell the manual specific body parts off the remains. It's still just a 4.0 with an ax15. All you'll need to do is bolt a Cherokee water pump and alternator. Rackets on it and drop it in your rig. You know how it runs, why buy a pig in a poke with a different drivetrain? Use it, it's a jeep.
  15. You could have a pint of diesel in there and your engine will never know the difference. Once you put the gas in it's all going to mix together and you won't even know it's there. It would be even less noticable then if you used two stroke mix. If all you have is a thin layer on the bottom, just use it.
  16. I have 2 92's with that "swoosh" decal. They were both 4.0 AX15 2wd with no options. One long bed one short bed. Nothing special. I've also seen a couple on CL over the last three years similarly optioned.
  17. Before you put money down on any purchase, google the part number and see what turns up. It'll keep you from getting the wrong parts most of the time.
  18. Can you throw the AX5 in it so you have overdrive?
  19. LS and done. Stock motors put out anywhere from 280 hp to 600+. Novak makes the parts to bolt it in.
  20. 99-04 Grand Cherokees have a 5x5 bolt pattern, not 4.5x5 like MJ XJ TJ ZJ liberty and YJ. WJ's have a totally different braking system.
  21. Pretty sure that's from a D44A from a WJ. The rusty splined 6 bolt piece is the driveshaft yoke, CV style. The cover isn't a standard 44 shaped cover. The carrier is definetly a stock open carrier. Nothing special to see here folks, move along. Don't bother doing business with who has it either. They either don't know what it is or just trying to make a quick buck.
