  1. I wanna stretch out a Waggy to tow my MJ around. no wood panels though. start with this: stretch to this: then finish up with this: though I won't be towing with those particular tires. they just happened to be at the right size/angle for the photo.
  2. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=30259
  3. what a pain in the butt! all the more reason to spray my house down with Home Defense.
  4. chevy drop shackles will only give 1" maximum and I think it's actually 3/4". MJs already have pretty long shackles so there's less lift then if you were installing them on XJs (which have shorter stock shackles). the small bump should match a 1.75-2" front lift and balance out the truck's rake. you can try car-part.com for junkyard parts.
  5. cutting coils increases the spring rate and is not advised.
  6. not joking. quite serious. (feel free to add me in. :D )
  7. you've updated your will, yes?
  8. still working on it. hung up on the instructions asking to purge the forum cache... :hmm: I'm not exactly willing to do that until I understand it
  9. spray every few months and you'll never see a live one again.
  10. what browser are you using?
  11. :rotf: saved for posterity...
  12. still would pick an XJ. 2" lift, 31s and go have fun. :D
  13. darth does have a point. XJs are better. :D
  14. that's a new one by me. :dunno: are the computers using different modems?
  15. I went to the parts store, bought a few long struts that were likely for minivans, came home and experimented 'til one worked (then returned the rest). apologies for the lack of any useful notes or details. :( It's not very strong and could never bend a hood. took a bit to find the right angle, but it works great.
  16. my favorite is still the junkyard that wrote "89 commanche" right under the emblem on the fender. if only I had a camera......
  17. If I was to ever pay for gear install, I'd go 4.56 minimum. car-part.com may help with the search for an axle. also, I'd be hard pressed to pass on a 4.10 TJ front axle if the price was low enough. yes it's low pinion, but it has 4.10 gears and the bigger U-joints. gear installations are very expensive.
  18. I've put thousands of miles on my 4.0/stick/33s/4.10s and if anything I'd want 4.56 gears. you couldn't pay me to only go as far as 3.73s. 4.10s is a good compromise.
  19. I'm hesitant to do it, but I'll think on it.
  20. more importantly, he needs to get it to a decent fiberglass man so a mold can be made.

I've seen waaaay worse convertible trucks. but still... :(
  22. you should be able to do that with your current t-case. make sure the linkage isn't binding and that the little plastic bushings are in good shape.
  23. tried car-part.com yet?
  24. not a clue what that is or how I'd go about getting it integrated. :dunno:
