if you spend 3 and a half days in the blazing georgia summer painting the outside of a house and then blow it all on a huge chunk of NOS MJ sheetmetal that you never intend to actually use on an MJ. :yes:

lift from an S-10 leaf should be minimal. they have about the same amount of arch as an MJ leafpack.

alternators/generators do not make use of "wasted" energy in that sense, they cause drag which counteracts any power gains. :thumbsup:

if anyone wants to take a commercial flight, I can pick you up at Detroit Metro Airport no problemo. :thumbsup: It's an easy drive from my house.

I've been running an open system rad for years on my closed system 88. :thumbsup: the only difference I could find was the open syst has a radiator cap hanging off the rad (which made filling the system much easier).

and shocks. if anyone has some non-dead shocks I could really use some (truck has none).

and the rockers are pretty much just fiberglass (previous owner was a boat repair guy). I'm contemplating adding rocker guards (like the ones on the 88) to help keep the 90 in one piece, but that doesn't have to happen anytime soon.

if someone has a better plan for the floor, I'm all ears. :thumbsup: but the truck needs way more than that to be solid again so my plan was to essentially do the least amount of work to make it less of a flintstone mobile. also, I have a good friend in need of some work done to her new-to-her 96 XJ. needs a radiator and full gauge cluster with the right engine sensors (and some other minor stuff).

oh, and the 90 will need a new bumper after day 1. :D

the perches are on the axle and it's already bolted up under my 88. just need the things burned on. tacking would even be ok and then I can putter on down to the pros. if someone could bring a good welder, I have some exhaust issues on the 90 that I'm prepared to weld together in a permanent fashion. the list so far: 90: -wire harness issues like the bad fusebox - Pat was going to bring me a whole new harness, but sine he's not coming, I guess I could steal the harness outta the half-a-jeep in the garage (was really hoping to use that in the 88 but the 90 is far worse off) -exhaust - got a dual exhaust setup that was swiped from a junkyard MJ, but it's doesn't fit very well and the studs on the exhaust manifold snapped off. I'm prepared to weld the whole thing in place and call it a day but I do have a spare exhaust manifold on that half-a-jeep. -the throttle return spring on the throttlebody is broken -U-joints need to be installed in the rear driveshaft. (i have the tool) -replace dr side window crank -I don't have a shifter jack of linkage for the 242 I installed. I'm prepared to leave it in AWD forever if it came to it. -needs a floor constructed (I have a "plan" involving glue and screws and galvanized sheetmetal) 88: -perches need to be burned on -brake issue (lose all firmness in pedal when engine is running) I have a double booster to install if it turns out the original is bad -I have a Durango steering box if someone is up for that.

be sure to try car-part.com found plenty of good deals at junkyards I'd never heard of. :D also, in case you didn't know, the v8 and v6 versions are the same, just with different brackets on the tube.

after checking for power and cleaning up the ground, there's a wire harness connector located behind the drivers side rear tire. corrosion in there robbed me of several rear lights way back when.

I'll put together a project list. there's no way that everything will get done, but I should make a list so we can figure out ahead of time what can be tackled and what is needed to do them.

It was a special order item, not available in all States. :rotf:

what about adding a piece of the rubber lower third trim that lots of MJs have?

and if anyone coming wants some decals, ya gotta tell me ahead of time.

ouch. a flight would be a heck of a lot cheaper.

just used it to fill up the tire in the 86 so I could putter it back home from storage at my grandma's house. :D no fittings specific to welders though. :dunno:

I have 220 going to the garage, just not an outlet yet.
