I hate owning dark color rigs. I've got a dark red MJ and it heats up like nobody's business in the sun. It will eventually be a light tan color (maybe like a desert camo).

They're front tire flaps from the big trucks. Cost me a pretty penny, but I couldn't pass up the chance to have "Peterbilt" on the back of the truck that, uh, I built. :D

As far as I know, all the dunes are on the Lake Michigan coast. The only ones you can drive on are at Silver Lake.

I'm looking for one in particular. Hard to explain but I'll know it when I see it.

All I know for sure is that changes occured in 91 and crossing that line requires the entire fiberglass unit. If both vehicles are earlier than that, individual parts should swap.

It all depends on what years are involved. You wouldn't be able to grab a headlight trim from a 91 and bolt up. But you could grab an entire front facia assembly and bolt it up.

Depends on what parts you need.

If you grab the entire fiberglass assembly in front of the hood/fenders, then any year will work. If you only want a few of the pieces, then there were some changes in 91 when Jeep simplified how the parts went together.

Sounds like a cookie issue on your end. I had that sort of probem a while back and it was because I accidentally canceled a cookie. I'm no expert though.

Because there are literally hundreds of thousands of D35s in the world and the vast majority of them work just fine. P.S. Should I also mention that it was a 2wd truck? :brows:

But remember that for some of the year changes, you must swap everything. You can't just swap hoods between 86 and 88, you must swap all associated parts so the hood latch mechanism works. You can't just pick and choose what front end parts from an 91 to put on an 88. The entire front facia must be swapped as a unit. There's a ton of interchangeability throughout the years, but plenty of little changes that can cause headaches.

My D35 started spitting gear teeth with only 30s, but I bet you'll be just fine with 31s. :D

I have a 91 tailgate on my 86 and it works fine.

By my calculations, the 235/75 comes out at 29.3x8.9 and the 235/85 is at 31.7x9.3. Seems to me the 235/85 will be too tall for a stock MJ which can fit some 31" tires (but only because many tires listed in inches are actually smaller than the stated height).

Out of curiosity, how much does a crushed MJ sell for as scrap?

The front shaft ahould be the same for the 242 and 231, but it is a bit different from manual trans to auto trans. Did this 3550 come from a TJ or XJ?
