The arm should be parallel at rest, yes. I'm not sure what the prop valves does when the arm moves down (due to the lift). As far as I can tell, it was really only designed to increase pressure when the arm moves up (due to a load in the bed).

Chances are that a "rough" running 4.0L has nothing wrong inside and the sensors or fuel system probably just needs cleaning or replacement of some parts.

Depends on which seals are leaking. The rear main seal requires dropping the oil pan (and use of a torque wrench) and is generally a very messy and sometimes frustrating procedure. Changing the valve cover is pretty straight forward, but there are no guarantees when screwing around with 15 year old gaskets. I haven't done the oil filter O-rings yet.

Unfortunately, you can't remove the tranny from the bellhousing without removing the bellhousing from the engine. The bolts are only accessible from inside the bellhousing.

My Co2 tank has a non-adjustible 100psi regulator and no guages. :D It works great and was pretty darn cheap.

It is also theoretically possible that 86 (maybe even early 87) MJs could have the T-4.

They are at the top of the bellhousing.

The 2.8 was 86 only, so you'd better verify what exactly it is for sale. Take a small magnet with you to check that fresh paint for hidden bondo. It may look nice now, but will it still look nice a year from now?

sounds exaclt like my mom's 95 XJ... except its a auto 2wd 4.0 with 198k on it and it leaks like a seive. While the engines are certainly capable of 200k+ (all 3 of mine are), alas the seals are not.

Could have been swapped. :hmm:

E-12. I highly recommend replacing them with long studs. They help with putting the trans back in. :D

Depends on what job you're looking for I guess. Selling nik-naks seemed pretty big. Robotics manufacturing, not so much. I wouldn't necessarily need to live in Moab, but being 24hrs away is rough. :(
