I made my own U-bolt plates and sandwiched the shock mount between the axle and leafs (with some trimming). This made the shock length identical to stock and even today I'm still using the same stock shocks.

that's the plastic bushings. A bit of silicone spray on those goes a long way. Mine started squeaking wen it got cold. I think that could be the through-out bearing too.

Yeah, notice the missing headlight. That must have been after I figured out how to get a stuck hood open, cause I dropped one of the headlights in the process. Here she is a couple years earlier. This is the only shot I have of her when she was a driveable 2wd and it was taken after I had fixed all the problems and added many of my little improvments. I wish I could show you guys what a wreck she was when I limped her home. ("Limping home" seems to be a common trait among MJs I buy :D )

Diesels are awesome! :D Can't wait til my parents get their Diesel KJ so I can borrrow it.

Do your research and then make your decision. There's plenty of info out there. It's not like I had a Bronco drivetrain sitting at my house and one day I decided to throw it under my 88 somehow. After the Peugeot blew up my 88 sat for 2 years without moving an inch. A couple months after it was finally moved into the garage to start the buildup, a total stranger I was talking to in a store (talking about Jeeps of course) when he found out that I was building a red MJ, he proceeded to ask if I lived next to Riverview High school and that he was worried about what happened to that truck since it suddenly disappeared. Lord only knows how many kids from that school noticed a sudden change in the landscape but couldn't quite put there finger on it. :D

No such problem here. I can't yet justify the expense of a winch. :( But I built my bumpers specifically to allow me to pull forwards or backwards. Almost every time I or those with me have been stuck, backwards has been the best (or only) alternative for extraction.

I've found that a bar of soap works better/longer than belt dressing for silencing the squeak in my van. Do make sure that the belt isn't too loose or too tight.

You can't build a Ba-10 any stronger. The case itself is weak. If you're looking for a lower first gear, I think the newer 3500 and 3550 may be what you're looking for. First gear for the AX-15 is 3.83 and I believe the 2550 had a 4.04 or something like that. The NSG 370 six-speed has a 4.46. :D

Can you swap the old CPS in to see if it works? There's always the chance it's a bad new part.

Doesn't look that bad to me, considering it was a fire. Nothing a run to the pull-your-part junkyard couldn't replace. Then top if off with the 97+ frontend and you're good to go. :D

I cut out the bad stuff, painted the edge, covered the gap with aluminum, then painted it red. Simple and easy. :D

Doesn't matter. The ratios are what they are. Sweet truck though. I've got an 86 metric tonne. :D

Axle ratios for your year are easy. 4.0L/auto = 3.55 4.0L/stick = 3.07 2.5L = 4.10
