  1. the AW4 is the auto trans used in XJs and MJs starting in 87 all the way through 01 nearly unchanged. IMO it is one of the best transmissions ever created and can go 300k+ if properly maintained
  2. honestly I wouldn't worry too much about the size of images (although cropping is an excellent idea!), we had a great bit of code that was doing it for the last few years automatically and I'm super hoping that we can figure out why it stopped.

didn't grab the year, so I'm guessing on that.
  4. we haven't heard from Cole since 2021. maybe his email would work better: jomj87@yahoo.com
  5. I feel like that's the path I'd pursue. the mech fan pulls more air and doesn't require a bunch of wiring to make it work. plus I paid for a lifetime so I want my lifetime's worth.
  6. what's the warranty on the clutch?
  7. saw a freakin' Prowler last time I was in town. If I spot it again I'll try harder to snap a pic.
  8. one like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/355720940735 I had originally purchased a more expensive unit, but it turned out the pump was only attached at the top and it sorta parted ways when I installed it, so I went with the cheaper one purely because it had a clamp at the top and at the bottom. seems to work just fine a year later. do make sure you buy from a seller that has a lot of feedback and warranties the part for 30 days. and be prepared to install it right away so you get plenty of time proving it works. cheap electrical parts tend to fail quickly if they are going to fail.
  9. I'll try, but the truck I installed them in isn't mine and lives about an hour away. essentially the relays live over by the battery and the wire is run next to the factory harness.
  10. I bought one of the cheaper whole assemblies on ebay and it fit well and is still working fine a year later
  11. hmmm... interesting. I gotta imagine that's related, but we'll see. thanks for the heads up
  12. have you bled the system? usually that drip is engine oil (from the RMS, valve cover, oil filter adapter, etc), so it's important to confirm if yours is brake fluid.
  13. essentially we filled up our allotted space on the server, which shouldn't be happening. to temporarily fix that we've bumped it to the next payment level while we work to fix the various reasons why we got here. should run great in the meantime. the most obvious problem is the specific software that is supposed to auto-shrink images has stopped doing its job. don't yet know what the fix is, but Big_Mark is doing his best to poke around in the ones and zeros. further updates as events warrant
  14. I've got a collection of photos snagged from the internet, but haven't made one of my own yet. I'd wager there are blueprints online somewhere on how to make a sturdy bench and then you can mod it to accept the gate.
  15. is it leaking brake fluid or engine oil from the bellhousing?
  16. treat the J-bolts like they are the most fragile things on the planet. clean the threads thoroughly and apply pb blaster ahead of time. I snapped one on a rust free truck.
  17. this harness was made explicitly for helping the stock headlights give their full potential worth every penny! (also prevents your headlight switch from catching fire!)
  18. man those are some beefy knuckles!
  19. mine fit fine. now's the time to also order a strap kit with bolts as they like to break from rust. and probably wouldn't hurt to get a new pump with sender assembly too. oh, and be prepared to get some rubber hose if you have to slice your fill hose apart to drop the tank because the clamps froze up. factory has a slight kink to it, but I'm told straight can work fine. oh, and replace any rubber fuel line too. be sure to use only stainless hose clamps. get it all done at once.
  20. congrats! looks like a solid truck
  21. happy 2026! I've got high hopes for this year
  22. in theory, yes. but the fuse block should be a high priority at this point. it's only going to get worse. be sure to get a block from an automatic XJ so you can be sure it hasn't happened to that replacement block already.
  23. it's certainly annoying but the site mostly stable so this is going to need to wait until after the new year. honestly, we need an IT person.
  24. not really, no. it honestly does anything a big phone does, but I much prefer my laptop/mouse (and the 32" tv that's my second screen) over any phone for using the internet, so the annoyances of the tiny phone are limited mostly to correcting voice-to-text on a teeny keyboard with my giant fingers.
